"Because these inventories and scans were created close in time to the seizure of the documents, they are the best evidence available of the order the documents were in when seized. That said, there are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans.”
"In many but not all instances, the FBI was able to determine which document with classification markings corresponded to a particular placeholder sheet."
A footnote says: “The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court.”
So yeah, I know what happened. Jack's team recklessly mishandled this central evidence then lied to the court about it.

@brethomuel786 Did you know the pictures that the FBI splashed all over the national news media were, in fact, set up and staged (by the FBI) in order to create the appearance that Trump was maliciously careless with classified documents? The entire pre-dawn FBI raid was a made-for -TV publicity stunt.....and you fell for it. Hook, Line, and Sinker.
Not if the initial claim was made in good faith. There were 33 boxes of documents in total and each document had to be replaced with a cover sheet for national security reasons after they were initially scanned. Those cover sheets then had to be scanned by Trump's defense team later. Combine that with the fact that those boxes were moved a couple of times with their contents loose and a small amount of those documents being out of order compared to the initial scans is something that could be easily missed. Especially if there was no reason to suspect that their order had gotten mixed up at some point.
Now, if any documents in the initial scan were now missing, that could potentially be a problem. All of the documents initially found are still accounted for however. Add that to the fact that a slightly mixed up order offers no significant benefit to the prosecutions case, and there really isn't enough there to warrant dismissal.

A year long investigation into Biden failed to uncover evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that he willfully retained the documents. End of story. Not so for trump, who willfully kept and concealed classified documents and obstructed the governments attempts to retrieve them. Big difference. And let's not forget Pence, who also had classified documents.

Not bad reporting, but highly political. Say it wasn't a president, say it was a cabinet member, an appointed not elected official. If someone was found holding classified documents, you would not want to tell the public all of said documents and would need to redact most of them to hold them in evidence. On top of that you need to do all the complicated legal work of the justice system as quietly as possible. classified documents can mean the safety of American lives, and we don't want them getting out. Now say you were the judge, and someone told you to get it all done by next month, and you're not ready. You might need more time. the work has to be done privately, and the trial takes a lot of preparation, you don't know the deadlines yet. So you don't schedule that, you schedule the next meeting, and everyone gets to work. There was no announcement that the trial was not happening before the election, just that it is now postponed. Therefore in the very title "Postponed Indefinitely" Does not apply. In the United states of America, a citizen can run for president from prison. there is precedent for this where in Eugene Debs the leader of the socialist party, ran for president from prison, receiving hundreds of thousands of votes. So the only reason to do it before the election is to lower his voting numbers before an election. If he becomes president from jail i assume he can pardon himself, but I'm not even sure that's true. If he does get elected beforehand, the trial can always be postponed 4 years. That is if he doesn't dismantle it with position as president. The argument from CBS here seems to be that if he doesn't face trial before the election, it would be unfairness in the justice system. But if the trial happens before legal teams are prepared that would also be unfairness in the justice system. You could trample someone's rights whom was innocent if you don't let the justice system proceed ungoverned by anyone but themselves. This is why we have a justice system, and its not perfect. just because he appointed the judge, does not mean its being mishandled. Though all other judges should be watching with scrutiny, and they should probably have a different judge at the head of the case. Postponement was not indefinite, and this was very politicized reporting.

For all those who haven't been paying attention, the prosecution has failed miserably in key parts of the process. This story by CBS conveniently leaves all the important factual stuff out...
First and foremost: they STILL have not complied with their discovery obligations. Cannon instructed the prosecution to fix that issue, and also to present a plan with detailed procedure on how exactly the supposedly classified material could be presented to the Jury. Cannon made it VERY clear that any trial date would be contingent upon those two things happening. Guess what, the prosecution failed to deliver on EITHER of them. ANY competent Judge would NOT ALLOW ANY CASE, even a civil case, to go to trial when discovery requirements have not been satisfied.
To all of you claiming that Cannon is siding with Trump because he nominated her, what do you have to say about Robert Hur, appointed by Garland, who of course was nominated by Biden. Special Counsel Hur said that while there was ample evidence to charge Biden criminally, he thought that Joe was too od an feeble to get a conviction. And remember, Biden NEVER had legal authority to hold on to ANY classified material when he was a Senator, and many of the docs in his possession were from that time, NOR when he was V.P.

Judge Cannon looked into them and caught Smith tampering, hiding evidence and lying about it.
