- It's Valentines' Day and at the start of the day James and Ste are in no mood to celebrate. James goes to see Ste and apologises for yesterday's behaviour. After an unsuccessful attempt to help fix the broken shower, Ste is honest with James about how he's feeling about them and what he needs from James. They're interupted mid conversation by the plumber arriving and while Ste is distracted, James leaves without saying goodbye.
Ste takes that as a sign that James doesn't want to fix things between them and later at the Valentines party at The Dog is in no mood for James, when he turns up and tries to talk to Ste. Ste is about to leave so James grabs the mic and tells Ste he's trying to propose. That stops Ste in his tracks, and James proceeds to tell Ste exactly how he feels, then gets down on one knee and asks Ste to marry him. Ste says yes, puts the ring on and they happily kiss.

I never thought they would "end up together", when James first arrived, and after all the hating each other there was for a very long time, and I just couldn't picture them, even if they have dated the same guys to some extend(Harry, John Paul...), but now it's actually really cute, and that Opposets attrackt. I hope they actually can get a happy ending now, even if by knowing hollyoaks, there will be a lot of drama before and even possibly on the wedding day,(maybe doubts etc) even if it's only disagreeing on how the wedding should be(I could imagine Donna Marie talking to Ste about ideas, because she wants to help😆). I can imagine one of them saying something in the speech about never imagining this at first and James mentioning that mother should have been there.
I always thought James would end up with JohnPaul while Steven gets someone else
