I'm with you, I was a doubter of Paddy's hype and thought Jordan would test him, guess I was proved wrong and shut up good lol. But then the speech... I've also been in and out of the hospital for the past like, twelve years, since my twenties - and that is after also being in therapy from like 10, some off periods, some on, you know the drill. It was great seeing Paddy use the huge platform he got to spread that message, really important.

You may be right, the thing about fighters such as Paddy (Conor, Tyson) in any combat sport the fan friendly fighters are like shooting stars in their careers, they come in red hot and burst through everything but that momentum soon leaves.. short lived but beautiful.
(I don't want to argue about people's careers dipping off for whatever reason but that's generally what happens with said types of fighters)

Paddy what you said was spot on after the fight. A few years ago my life was turned upside down, prior to that it hadn't been easy anyway. I really turned in on myself and found myself one day standing at the top of a cliff in bits and seing the drop as the best option. I only didn't cos I had my dog with me and was worried how she would get home. I managed to get the will to see the doctor and get counselling through work. When it was bad no one really knew how bad I was, they noticed I was different but because I didn't want to speak to anyone they never knew how bad I was cos I was always seen as a strong person. What you said was so true, men need to talk and realise people will actually care and try to help. Anyway hope you're OK and I'm sure those around you have you. Anyone out there struggling, call mates, family, the samaritans or anyone and talk. Get to the doctor, being medicated isn't weak or necessarily permanent, it just gets you back on track. Take care all.
