My aunt gifted this Perfume to me, after my uncle died. (Brand new bottle that he had) I dont use it often, its a beast, 3 sprays and your good to go😊. I enjoy it from time to time and surprisingly people even compliment me when i wear it. It has something nostalgic to me. Thanks for the review 🙌
I've heard the original Houbigant "Fougere Royale" went through multiple reformulations over a long period of time which, I guess, a lot of people complained about, and I heard it became very different from the original. Then it went through, I guess, a most recent reformulation which changed it back to being more like the original.
Beautiful flanker. Just stunning in cooler weather. I’ll always maintain that Demachy is underrated. 🤷🏻♂️ He might not have done much that was groundbreaking, but nothing wrong with attractive and wearable. An easy reach is a good reach. Vintage original was the best, of course. I’ve tried finding reasonably priced early 90s editions, and they’re either mid-2000 to 2010 at best (not bad, but not quite there) or the juice has turned. The current version is just ok, it lacks that sparkly bite to it. Some of the original ingredients were banned.
@@RichMitch it’s been alleged by some that the original was released with ingredients already banned, or that the release walked a *very* fine line at least. 🤷🏻♂️ Well, who knows. All I know is that at the time there was nothing like it at all, and nor to this day. I miss it. But I’m happy that it happened.
Stellar review mate! This is My fave Fahrenheit along with absolute, not a fan of the original personally but was lucky enough to pick up a slightly used 100ml bottle of the vintage fahrenheit for literally £25.99 on an auction years ago but didn't use it and it just collected dust for years so i sold it and then ended up getting le parfum after trying it out in a store and loving it.
I was under the impression that Dior Homme Parfum was never released in the States, but Dior Homme and Intense got the boot when Dior Homme 2020 was forced on us.
@@RichMitch The only option we have in the states now is the 2020 version, Cologne, and Sport. Intense is readily available at discounters, Original and Parfum are far more scarce. I have two bottles of pre-original Homme; and one bottle of Original. I’d like to have a silver stem version again, but I’m not sure if the effort to find one and the money to buy it is worth it.
I've always been interested in the variations of Fahrenheit as it was just so different when it came out. For me personally I've drifted to the Plastic Bertrand version ( Fahrenheit Summer)...as it works for me... everytime, anytime. A surprising find and a firm favourite version is the Revson Ultima 11 sheer scent, it's a really interesting take on Fahrenheit, it's original Fahrenheit but not so in your face, don't be fooled by the sheer scent tag, it lasts all day. Now can you imagine if Balenciaga PH had hung around for longer than it did, what variations we'd be experiencing.... maybe it is a good thing it didn't.😂
Fahrenheit Le Parfum is totally reliable in the colder months but smells like a black mess if you dare to try wearing it on a warmer day. However, you knocked the nail on the head when you said "dull". I'm not knocking it, but I won't be buying a 2nd bottle. Cheers!
I love that gasoline/violet leaf, ozonic vibe in a perfume and so I love Fahrenheit but I go for Amouage Portrayal for that fix. Cleaner and maybe not as interesting as a vintage DIOR but meh.
Unpopular opinion, this is better than Fahrenheit Absolute (which to me is a light myrrh vanilla violets, more "Fahrenheit Light" or "Fahrenheit Touch" than "Absolute")
Light vanilla violet fragrances like Fahrenheit Absolute smell to me very docile, like an obedient office clerk working in some giant brutalist or Brazil (1985)-type building
Unfortunately, I've never tried vintage Dior "Fahrenheit". I like Dior "Fahrenheit Le Parfum" a lot. I plan to keep my bottles of it. Have you tried Amouage "Portrayal Man", and if so, is it similar to the more vintage formulation of "Fahrenheit"? I've become fond of "Portrayal Man", and I'm glad to have a bottle of it.
Oddly enough, in not trying to creature a caricature that’s exactly what Demachy did. However, I love the parfum and I think he respectfully added new ideas to a stagnant gene pool. Aqua Fahrenheit was an abomination let’s be real, Demachy treated this parfum with respect while actually taking it in a new direction. The rum and vanilla chiming with sweet violet not withstanding, I get quite a prominent caraway/cumin note which I think is inspired quite frankly. Completely different journey but arriving at a familiar but crucially not the same, location.
I was never of the opinion Demachy’s later Dior Prives were that bad. Nothing he made, even at the end, approaches the mediocrity what the Kurk has churned out, so far.
The more time passes the more i think the perfumers are going away because of the houses policies and not becouse the perfumers are bad.. They've becoming from bad to worse.
Fahrenheit parfum, Dior l’Homme parfum, and Eau Sauvage are Demarchy’s trifecta at Dior. Count Sauvage parfum too if that’s your jam. FD is a true master of flankers🫡
