Completely agree. This trend of PvP games with battle passes asking you to solely play their game in order to compete their battle pass is getting silly. I don’t need the battle pass to keep me playin, make it feel rewarding therefore fun. All it needs is a win gives 10, match completion gives 5 or something small
humm, weird how some people feel the need to dunk on overwatch to praise something marvel rivals did when both games are fun, and actually it is the same price... the only difference is that we can keep completing the bp after the season ends (but the grinding is worse imo)
Reminds me of Halo Infinite’s battle pass at launch, you could only get XP for it through daily and weekly challenges. They eventually changed it to where you get XP just from finishing games, where you get more based on if you won, if you were MVP, how long the game was, etc.

Love the game but hope the BP system changes... played all yesterday with no challenges to do because i did them in the first 4 games. So didn't earn any BP currency for the rest of the day.
Honestly the only negative is that the missions are too specific and don’t get enough for doing them. It’s going to take an EXTREMELY long time for a free to play person to buy a skin
The one thing that i think needs changing first is that it is so slow to make battle pass progression. i think something like 5-10 bp points for winning a match or something.
Getting earnable skins would be amazing. If enough of us put this in the in-game surveys as things that we would like to see in the game it could happen

I agree with you, the matches played need to give BP XP somehow. Some for finishing the match, some for highest kills, most assists, most healing, and finally length of the match.

This game does everything right except for two things: 1. No role locks, this has to be implemented at some point maybe give us a role free quick play mode like Overwatch 2 did shortly after launch. 2. This is nitpicky and a first world problem but the way the Battle Pass works is slow, you gotta wait for dailies to refresh and do the weekly and seasonal quests, I doubt a regular player can complete the pass that way, there needs to be an alternative to gain the purple currency like Fortnite does with XP gain.
Role locks should only be forcompetitive, Quick play is just that. Quick lose win, sure it sucks when u just get blasted because the other side has a tank and healer and u might not, but I dread the day u try to Q as dps and takes 5 mins because nobody wants to tank. I rather play my hero in a losing game then wait 3m because I want a fair match

I just worry about queue times when you start adding things like that. We have a really good thing going at the moment and casual people are just having fun with the game, jumping in to games instantly. If role queue were to disrupt that and make the player experience much worse would that be a good thing for the games looking term health? I think Overwatch didn't get role queue for the first three years of it's life and while there were some clear problems it was also when the game was at the height of its popularity
I like an idea someone had on some other video talking about rivals and role lock specifically, Which was to impose a maximum of 3 of each role. That way you wouldn't be forcing people to play a certain role, and you wouldn't get games with 5 of one role.
Don’t agree with Role queue,it can be rather a system of “We need minimum 1 required of each Role/Type of char” so always having at least a minimum of one Vanguard AND Strategist! (Said as a Strategist main too)
I see nobody talking about this but sometimes if you just play matches, upvoting your entire team gives you randomly some Tokens or even Lattice. It doesn't seem to be consistent but it has happened multiple times to me now were I got 60 tokens after upvoting my teammates.
I just need a steady flow of BP currency and maybe give us more units through achievements and character progression (like 500 units for moving from agent to captain etc.)
I love the Battle Pass system. I’m not sure why really. I think It’s just fatigue from every games battle pass being exactly the same. I’m glad it’s not tied to my XP anymore. Gives me incentive to actually do my challenges and not miss anything. Usually I just keep playing until my challenges are all done, which makes it more immersive and more fun than just repeatingly grinding tiers all the time. Thats what I started hating about games like Overwatch and Fortnite, it had gotten stale.
I don’t know y’all, I kinda like how the bp is! It makes you try a bunch of new characters and explore the game! I would understand people wanting a bonus for playing a game, but I don’t really think it’s necessary. I love the game tho!

Season 0's battle pass is 6000 Chrono Tokens total. Assuming you do daily missions and challenges every day, you will gain 7,200 Chrono tokens every 30 days. You can also get additional Chrono tokens from Events and Achievements. Chrono Tokens get reset to 0 once the season ends.
It's confirmed that Chrono tokens get reset to 0 once the season ends? Even though they said you can complete the Battle Pass after the season is over? That is super whack. I think they should just carryover, that way you can apply your extra 1200 Chrono Tokens to the next Battle Pass, or feed them backwards if you missed some days on previous battle passes.

Day 1 I thought Venom was broken and he is very strong… but I’m realizing other characters are super strong too but they just needed a few days with the community to come about.

Why not the best of both worlds. Have role que, or atleast a min 1 max 3 style que, in comp only. If you want to play what you want for fun, then go into the quick play mode. A game can have both!

I got a Black Panther skin as my first-tier reward, and the next few items were a spray or something else that feels useless, like an icon picture. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it.

It's slow and clunky without a LS sprint for every character and a dodge botton wouldn't hurt either. Its baffling not having cyclops and deadpool in a game like this. 5/10

Honestly I like the no role queue. I ended up sticking with a team with 1 tanks 3 dps and 2 support and it was great. Won every game we went into

Not really. It's only cosmetic. The game and all characters, present and future, are literally free. It's VERY friendly.
