Metallica bought the rights to the film so they could show the music video without having to keep paying royalties. The song is from the 4th album, ... And Justice For All, and was their first to chart in the US. "Enter Sandman", the one almost everyone knows, is from the 5th self titled album. Wolf, the guitarist is Kirk Hammett.

The guitarist has been Kirk Hamlett since he replaced Dave Mustaine very early on, before the first album was released. The slogan Johnny Get Your Gun was a recruiting effort during WW2. The song from the book about WW1 was an ironic reference to that. It was one of three books banned during WW2. The other two were enemy propaganda. The author Dalton Trumbo was criticized and ultimately destroyed for being defeatist. Not so; just realistic.
Metallica is the one group my wife might take time to watch one of these videos. She has all their autographs from possibly 35 ish years ago with backstage passes. However I have gotten her to watch a few Eivor videos now too. On this one, I haven’t seen before. Take care and prayers 🙏🙏🙏

To all noobs... this isn't an anti-war song. They wrote this song based on the novel "Johnny got his gun" 1939 and the film in 1971. Song is about what it would feel like to be the soldier who lost everything. A very deep and heavy topic.
