Sir, I am a 56 year old woman who owns a 2013 Ford Expedition. I have been struggling with the drivers window for 6 months since the regulator was replaced last fall, and no one seemed to be able to help me, they just kept telling me to hold the window switch up, and of course the "window bounce" prevented me from being able to do that. Your video was about the fourth one I had watched, and let me tell you, it was priceless! I thought my window was just going to have to be that way. I had learned how to roll it up most of the way to keep water, snow, cold & heat out. But sometimes, I would have to do it 2 or 3 times to get it up well enough to seal. I watched your video 3 times & went out & did it just the way you said, in my driveway, in the dark,& it is now working PERFECTLY the first time!!! And I did it all by myself! THANK YOU for such an amazing video! You literally fixed my window for me in about 2 minutes! After MONTHS of struggling with it! I just can't Thank You enough! You are amazing!!! THANK YOU!!!❤
THIS GUYS RESET WORKED!!Just replaced our 2014 expedition regulator, I was unaware this glass bounce back would happen but it would automatically come back down part way when trying to raise the window fully. After trying several other videos and resets this was the one that did it. Key on 5 times quick, hold the window button down nothing happens, press it down again and let the glass go all the way down and hold the button counting to four, immediately go up with the window and when it tops out count to four. Turn off the key. Thats what worked, just like he says. Thanks a bunch
Finally this one works!!!! There are so many of these videos out for Ford bounce back, this one actually works for a 2007 Ford Expedition. Thank you for this video. My wife will be happy with her window again.
2014 Lincoln Navigator - They are dozens of videos about relearning, resetting, reinitializing the regulator from DIY guys to Ford technicians! They talk about pulling the battery cable while the window is moving, standing on your head, chants, button holding, etc... None of them worked. Your video was the 20 second fix after installing my new regulator, which turned out to be the easy part. Wish I would have found this video before all the rest of them. Thank you!!
Thank you for the help. I looked all over the owners manual and online and couldn't find the solution. This worked perfectly on a 2011 Ford Expedition.
Changed the drivers side regulator in my 2012 and had the typical window "bounce back". I found numerous reset methods searching around but not one worth a damn. This one was the charm... Thanx!!
Dude I love you so much right now!! Was trying to figure this out half the day yesterday and being a stubborn man I didn't want help lol. But decided today maybe it's not a bad idea. So here I am and thank you!! That was so frustrating for no reason
@@darylturcott I did have an issue after doing the reset, with the horn alarm on my 2009 Lincoln Navigator. Easily remedied, but unexpected. Again, I certainly do appreciate the guidance and direction.
Man you rock the dealership to me to me keep the window up for a few days. I just did this in a store parking lot and it worked flawlessly on my second time 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I hate the dealers. I took my 500 in because I knew it had a broken wire in the harness. They said I needed a fuel pump and charged me $100 diagnostics fee. It didnt even have a fuel pump code. They didnt even inspect the worn harness I showed them.
Do you have a key or push to start? My 2015 expedition is push to start so I feel this video doesn't apply to me but nothing has worked for me to train the motor after a new window regulator.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I found this vid after replacing my regulator and having a window that wouldn't close properly. This always used to happen to me on sub-zero winter days and I just lived with it. Clearly, I'll need to re-teach it sometime next January, but I should be trouble-free after that!
Thank you for watching. I highly recommend spraying some lubricant down into the mechanism before the weather turns cold. Cold makes the grease less soft and causes a higher power draw. The computer measures the current draw to decide when to stop the cycle.
I have been fighting with my wife's 2014 Ford expedition limited trying to reset it how they do the f150s and xlt never worked but this did. Thank you so much great video
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful and worked on a 2011 Ford Expedition that I replaced the front driver side regulator on. It was doing the same thing as your's and I initially thought there may be an orientation sensor on the motor where I'd have to clock the motor but your method worked! Very clear instructions, unlike the two previous videos I saw. Much Appreciated!
Had the same issue on my 2013 Expedition and most videos on window regulator fix only cover the swap out and leave this out. I struggled to diagnose the issue for bounce back until your video. SUPER helpful.
It worked for my 06. And if you know Lincoln navigators they stopped at 06. So a new way to do things after 06. I'm so stoked that this method worked on my 06 Limited Edition. It may be the reason..They only made this Edition in late 06 before the 07s came out. Thankful for people who do videos I also make videos DYI A-Z CHECK items on mine about car related items or cleaning carpets cheap for you cares. 100% You'll be shocked!
Oh my! I have tried different types of ways...but to no avail Mine is an 06 and people tell me all the time Lincoln navigator never made one. It bothers me badly because of this year 06 .The factory used parts from 04-07 YES! I tried to use the instructions for my year and it will not work. I found yours sir 07 so I thought no way it wont work. My Lord above Its raining and I got my window up using your technique. So, let it be known this may work for 06 Lincoln's. Thank you very much for your time making the video. Touche'
Merry Christmas, nice video. A dealer probably charge you one hour to do that fix. To much electronics in vehicles today along with sensors and computers. That’s why the cost keep going up. It looks like we’re going to have a Las Vegas Christmas, no snow. 🤷🏻♂️
Wow thats a tough one. I would start by jiggling the wire bundle where it leaves driver door while playing with the switches, see if you might have a broken wire there. If not youll need a voltmeter and a service manual to run pinpoint tests to isolate the problem.
Does anyone know if it has to be a Ford OEM part for this to work? I used an aftermarket Dorman replacement and I can’t get the window to program. Any help is appreciated.
I did this and it reset the passenger window up and down. But it wont reset the auto up on my drivers side. No big deal. I feel like my motor on the drivers side is starting to go. I only replaced the regualor. So i might try to swap that. It feels like it has trouble at the end
Could be . It works by measuring current draw. Perhaps a weak motor draws a lot of current. Is it an 07? I saw some different years use different procedures.
Thank you so much thank you so much, I changed the regulator I changed the motor and I reset the automatic window works perfect you really know your stuff thank you so much. Can you help me with my passenger mirror it's not folding, I changed the switch and the left side folds in and out but the passenger side right side does not fold in or out any suggestions
Also do you have electrical meter where you can do pinpoint test to check voltages and resistance? If you're good at that sort of thing I can probably get the service manual links for
keep pushing the button. 1 push without holding the brakes - turns into acc. mode, 2nd push without holding the brakes - turns off. Just tried on my 2017 continental and it worked!
Just tried this after replacing the regulator on my 2012 Expedition Limited, and it doesn't work. I've gone through the process about 7 times now, varying the timing between the steps. Every time I get to the "Up" step, the window goes all the way up, hits the top, and bounces right down again... No matter how long I try to hold the button.
My lincoln scratches all 4 windows when rolling up or down I've already clean the weather strips but is still scratching them to the point they look foggy

I've never had one that new
keep pushing the button. 1 push without holding the brakes - turns into acc. mode, 2nd push without holding the brakes - turns off. Just tried on my 2017 continental and it worked!
So how many time did you please the button to get it to work ? 10 times?
I love the cat in the video. “Whatcha doin’ Dad?”
