Zikhron Ya'akov (Hebrew: זִכְרוֹן יַעֲקֹב‎, lit. "Jacob's Memorial"; often shortened to just Zikhron) is a town in Israel, 35 kilometres (22 mi) south of Haifa, and part of the Haifa District. It is located at the southern end of the Carmel mountain range overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, near the coastal highway (Highway 2). It was one of the first Jewish settlements of Halutzim in the country, founded in 1882 by Baron Edmond James de Rothschild and named in honor of his father, James Mayer de Rothschild.[2] In 2019 it had a population of 23,206.[1]

What a beautiful town Zichron has become.I .went as a teenager in 1964 and again in 1979...I remember a beautiful underground memorial to Baron Rothschild with a forecourt with a dripping fountain and some stone buildings which were from a winery...but all of this that we walked through today, I don't remember at all! My next trip will definitely include a trip here!

Oh yeah, there is a great park which is built on land purchased by Rothschild. That place is beautiful indeed!

But in reality its even more beautiful here you see wonderful shots of the city center but a bit to the west you have this great view and the sea
Day in day out and there so many beautiful places in town
Problem is the video has to last for at least and hour
But my compliments wonderful video of one the best spots on earth

It is a quaint town with rich heritage as one of the earliest, if not the earliest Zionist settlement. Since it is a walking tour without audio, I eould have not known the significance of this beautiful and historic town had I not seen another video of the same place which tells about the history and significance of the town. It would have been helpful if there was a caption on the video to let us know or explain what we see in the video for someone like me who is not a Jew who does not know anything about Zichron Yaacov.
