Flick of the Wrist is Freddie doing both the high and low vocal. Queen was at odds with their management and this song's theme would be continued on the next album's Death on Two Legs.

I fell in love with Queen after hearing Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio in 1975. Bought the album "A Night at the Opera" and was hooked. My next purchase was Queen 1 and Sheer Heart Attack. Brian was the main reason that my love for Queen was developed and sustained.

Killer Queen was the first Queen song to get airplay in the Chicago area. I ran to the record store, not sure of the name of the song/album and bought Queen II (no Google remember!). Figured out quickly I was wrong, got Sheer Heart Attach, and a week later Queen (1st). These are all amazing and if you think of the other music at the time - it was so progressive. Saw them on the "Night at the Opera" tour. Unbelievable and talented!!!! Thank you for doing all of these!!!!

Roger Taylor could've been the lead singer in many bands back in the day. He's also responsible for many of the crazily high backing vocals on many of the albums.

This is my favorite Queen album - they rocked HARD on this album. This is no "anthem rock" - sure, i like "We Will Rock You" but this album has none of that. They were still a band with something to prove and it shows.

I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Queen in 1977 at the Long Beach Arena in Southern California. They opened up with “Now I’m Here”. Brian started his guitar intro to a pitch black stage and then Freddie appeared on the right side of the stage standing on the speaker with just a single spotlight on him singing “Here I stand…look around around around” When he sang “You won’t see me” the lights went out. Then when he sang “Now I’m here” he was on the left side of the stage on the left speaker. He must have ran his ass off to get from one side to the other. He was the ultimate front man and the most incredible singer and showman! Miss him.

Great reaction once again. Just a quick note, when Now I'm Here is winding down and Brian is playing sort of classic 50's guitar riffs and they all say "Go, go, go little Queenie" that's a little homage to rock pioneer Chuck Berry and his song "Little Queenie". Keep up the good work.

If anything, side 2 is better. The only reason this album was even made (second of the year after Queen II), was because they had to suspend touring due do Brian May contracting hepatitis from a dirty needle as he was being innoculated for Queens tour of Japan. He was bed riden for a large part of 1974 and at one point risked having to have his arm amputated. All he did in bed was sit and write songs... hence, two albums in a year.

After seeing all of the recommendations from RUclips shorts for The Warning, I finally checked them out. They are AMAZINGLY good, writing really catchy tunes. I downloaded the "Error" CD from 2022, then promptly pre-ordered "Keep Me Fed" (autographed by Pau) which is due in June. They are definitely on my bucket list of bands to see. The hype is real, people... And you gotta love chicks who rock!

One of my favourite Queen albums. Some of their early stuff was top notch. Lily Of The Valley has the final reference to the King of Rhye (who's now lost his throne) from the Seven Sea's Of Rhye (Queen 1 & 2) . Rogers solo stuff also work checking out, he's done some good stuff the last few years.

Such a great album, with superb musicianship and writing, fun and very literate lyrics, and a booming, warm and expansive yet clean production! Freddie's gift for theatre is on full display, both in the lyrics and his way of singing them - as someone said, this is an album about everyday teenage experiences and moods, but they are carefully heightened by the theatrical presentation and the dramatic music, making them feel a bit larger than life.
I've known this album since I was ten years old or so, it has always been a favourite.

Second, like Bryan Cutis has commented, I also bought Night at the Opera first, then in one purchase Queen I, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack, and to this day they are among my favourite four albums from any group. You are also right, that on the album Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lily of the Valley all flow together as if one track. Looking forward to seeing your face when you here "In the Lap of the Gods"!!!

You are becoming my fav reaction channel - so natural, lovely and very knowledgeable in feeling the music and instrumentations - you have a natural gift of interpreting the music and layers in production deeply - I am a musician and songwriter myself (and know and love most of the albums for decades you covered here) and mean it from the heart. Another pro: you do whole albums! Keep the great job up, you are fantastic!
Sheer Heart Attack didn't have the general heavyness and prog-approach like Queen II, which really stands out as their most ambitious and heavy album, but it was their breakthrough especially with Killer Queen which merged pop rock with their proggy own style and Brighton Rock with Brian's ambitioned experimental guitar work, as you saw - he did it on stage up to 10'. He never wanted to include synthesizers or orchestras until 1980, but build (!!) the guitars himself to get the sound he wanted. Brian's Now I'm Here was their biggest live show song and was played at practically every concert until their last tour with Freddy.

Verdy, you like guitar. On youtube you can find Brighton Rock from the Live Killers Album. Live, they use this song for a guitar and drum solo. If you check it out, he's only playing 1 drum during the solo. The guitar solo is done with a delay peddal only, only one guitar. It slaps even harder than this.
