What's great about building your own is not necessarily saving a lot of money, but rather getting exactly what you want.
For the "under $500" crowd; I put together a J bass with a Squier body (black), jazz neck and a loaded Geddy Lee pickguard.
I put on Rotosound swing '66 strings and it is the sound I expected and hoped for.
The bass you built here is fantastic in sound and looks (love the classic rosewood neck) and I'm sure that I will do a P Bass someday and I will keep the choices you made here in mind.
I’m really looking into this because I love fender P basses, but the hardware has always been lacking imo. I love my hip shot tuners and bridge on my Carvin and I would need them on a P bass for my own sanity.
Lovely black p bass, I dig the black hardware and the tone you’re getting out of that bare knuckles!
Thanks Nick! I had to sell it as I moved across the world but it was a great bass. I'm going to do a new studio tour soon with my current rotation...
Online Bass Courses I’ll be looking forward to it, cheers!
thats a badass looking bass sir. that decal looks like a solid job, you cant tell that its a decal at all.
Did you do the decal job or a luthier?
Thank you. It looks good precisely because I didn’t do it! Matt from Monty’s Guitars in London did it.
Dan, how’s the neck profile on this P Bass neck? Chunky enough? Great look and tone
Yes - probably too chunky for me (I don’t actually own this bass anymore).
@@OnlineBassCourses thank you very much! I have one on the way.
How you like those Neumanns
They work perfectly fine for my needs!
Thanks for your reply - that's good to hear. I've got some KH 80 or maybe Genelec 8320 on my radar. Cheers.@@OnlineBassCourses
Enjoy!
Very nice! Think i will get some flats.
Can't go wrong!
Thinking of building one myself, how did you get the logos for the headstock?
Nice tone! 👍🏾
Not bad for a home made bass!
Online Bass Courses I have a P-bass Daphne blue that was all parts has a push/pull on the tone for single coil slap tones. 👍🏾
@@trevorblair5552 Nice. That's a cool upgrade. And a great color!
