It's 2005, my parents and I just hit up Nebraska Furniture Mart and packed up everything we could carry in the van. It's dark, windy, and wet, and I'm tired, but it's ok. I can lay back, close my eyes, and listen to my parents talk about things I don't care about.

The sound of dad's car shutting off as he wakes me up in the driveway and says, "we're home" was always a disappointment. However, walking into the warm house and smelling mom's freshly baked chocolate chip cookies would trigger more dopamine in my brain! I miss my parents and the warm times we had with my siblings when we were all young. Thank you, this is magical! 👍 😌

I remember the sound of the car shutting off, waking me from sweet slumber. Once or twice I faked being knocked out so that dad would carry me in from the car… 🤫

When I was a kid we didn't have intermittent wipers. We had two speed; ON and OFF. You turned them on and they would go at a steady back and forth, back and forth, back and forth rhythm that would sooth you down, and if your dad was listening to a baseball game on the AM radio you could hear the announcer telling you what was going on in the ball park. You would be in the back seat, or even resting on the floor of the car, and maybe the heater would be going. Everything was right with the world because dad was driving, he was taking you home, and you were safe and warm.

My friend used to drive me out to Osaka bay whenever it rained just to park somewhere and sit, talking with our drinks in hand. I got really sick all of a sudden and as soon as I recovered after years in hospital I drove out to Osaka bay. There she was, waiting. We cried and laughed, it was the most peaceful moment of my life

To think my best memories were the long car rides back and forth between counties to visit my father, listening to the rain as I had zero troubles or fears.
I couldn’t care less back then, I’d think of everything I could, imagine animals running beside the car with me, think the moon was following me, imagine little men in the street lights running around and turning the lights to different colors or seeing which rain drop would win before falling asleep to the sound of rain, or the radio playing quiet music or even my dad talking to someone beside him.
I never know how much I would miss it. But I do.
I can’t get that back. It will never be the same, and damn, does that suck.
I can so relate to this feeling. 😔

Real shi it's insanely difficult if you add addiction in the mix aswell life wasn't supposed to be this hard I thought I was smarter but got used and taken advantage of but turned out I made all the wrong decisions now almost 27 nd life is just about to start once I lang a job and finish a GED program 😔🙏

I remember around 2007/2008 my dad would drive me home from school on a Thursday because I had an extra activities after school. The night sky, the rain are so familiar. Good memories, I miss being young.
OMG, I legit have strep rn and I find it extremely hard to sleep. Then once I started to listen to this, I was out like a light!

It's 2015, my parents are driving me and my siblings home after a party at my aunts house. We drive home sometime around 8:30 or 9:00, getting something to eat from Wendy's or McDonald's, then talking about things that happened at the party until one of us fell asleep. Then, it started raining. I looked out the window and came up with some story in my head. Some of my characters were running beside the car or flying beside it, laughing and waving at me. I fall asleep, only to wake up on the last turn to my neighborhood. My brother wakes up too but we pretended we were still asleep. My mom is carrying me annd my dad carries my brother. We get put in our room and never opened our eyes until morning.
How simple everything must have been for me to never know it until now.

2015 was a great year
Ughhhh I feel so old 🥺 my childhood was the 80's.
This brings back fond memories of being in the car with my parents and driving on the motorway to get home from a two week trip to Cornwall. The engine sounds, the rain on the windshield and the sound of the wipers are soothing and nostalgic.
I listen to your rain every night and because of that my wife does too now we are both conditioned to sleep to rain sounds.
You guys still listening to rain sounds?
It's not the rain itself that helps me sleep, it's the not hearing neighbors walk.
The lights are amazing! Look how they blur and bleed into other colors, creating more light reflection off the wet windshield, and then wiped away only to reappear 2 seconds later. The sound of REAL rain and no music. A car zooming by every now and then. This is strangely intoxicating and nostalgic! I love it!

This reminds me of travelling to holiday destinations around the UK in the eighties. We had a Ford Cortina estate car. Mum up front with dad driving through the night. My three older sisters in the rear seat with me and the dog curled up in the back with the luggage. I can remember peering out the window for hours looking at the lights of the towns and cities we passed on the motorway trying to imagine the people who lived there before finally falling asleep to the sound of the rain and wipers. Good times.

Reminds me of coming home late in winter,sleeping in the back seat of my dad’s car on the 50 mile journey home from visiting family in our home town,I’d be so comfy and be annoyed if I woke up and noticed a landmark that told me my comfortable sleepy journey was nearing an end!
Looking at the outside world through the window of a car at night is something different. Everyone is asleep, there’s only the car you and Mother Nature still awake
The thumbnail says "The Way You Remember", and it's totally right. I normally don't like "driving in the rain" videos because the camera quality is so high that it feels... unnatural. But this is just the bleary-eyed blurriness and glare I'd be seeing if I took my glasses off for a nap. All it's missing are the astigmatic starbursts and streaks emanating from all the lights, then it'd be perfect~ 🥰

I had a convertible with a canvas roof. Pretty decent heater. Leather seats that hugged you. Plenty of power in the engine. I liked pulling up outside on a rainy night and just sitting there listening. Watching the odd person walking by in the darkness. I’d get a text from my girlfriend asking why are you sitting outside in the car. It’s because I was sitting, listening and watching. It was moments like that which I wished it could rain forever. The design of this particular car made you feel very safe. The drumming of the rain droplets on the roof were amplified by the peaceful silence of the world. That car and that girlfriend are gone now so I enjoy videos like this and the sound of rain anywhere.

Always searching for the perfect driving to Florida to visit my grandparents in the back of the van with four siblings poor dad driving straight through because we can’t afford to fly there or him to miss an extra day of work when the only vacation we EVER take is to visit his mom and dad and this is the highlight of my childhood video. I live in Far North Queensland Australia and I have family down near Brisbane and so every year my close family drive roughly 18 hours from our home city to their home town to visit. Im only a young teenager ar the moment but a few months ago we went on the trip.We left at 6pm from our house in a grey Toyota Camry and when we reached townsville, I was beginning to be tired after a long day of school and packing. I wanted to lay back and watch a movie I had downloaded on Netflix but unfortunately the file has corrupted so I was forced to listen to whatever old music I had on the phone and I was lucky enough to have an ASMR video from this channel. I remember how I rewatched it until about 2am when it began to rain. I took my headphones out and set back my chair. I never felt this sense of calmness and happiness before as we reached half way. I remember how aftwr a few hours of in and out of sleep we arrived at my grandparents house and unpacked. Suprisingly the entire holiday was colder than expected as in Queensland (Especially where I live) it was always 25 degrees plus in winter and when we were in the town, it went down to about 8 degrees (celsuis) and we all had to use two blankets at night. I couldnt fall asleep the first night and so I switched on a Minecraft asmr video and watched the entirity. God the nostalgia that this channel brings
I remember coming back from a day trip to a theme park when I was around 10ish. It was 8pm at the beginning of a three hour drive and storming so the drive was extra slow. Woke up right as we turned into my neighborhood. Best sleep of my life. I am forever chasing that feeling.
When I was still small enough and sedans were big enough and safety was misunderstood, I would lay above the backseat on the rear deck and sleep on the long trips at night. My sister would have the backseat. It was extra cozy when the rain would pelt the rear glass and sis would put dads jacket over me.

Just like benjaminrobinson said, listening to my parents talk and trying too make sense of what they were saying...I think it was the trying to make sense of what they were saying part that always put me to sleep. This is a great video don't get me wrong, the only way it could ever improve would be adding faint voices in the background. Love this though❤

Driving back from Grandma's house. Mom is driving, dad's waiting for us at home. Mom asks a question as you doze and can't quite make it out; she chuckles and turns the heater on low, your body relaxing as the car glides effortlessly across the wet pavement....
