In the UK restraints are illegal, often restraints are used as punishment even with doctor documentation all the nurse has to do is tell the doctor patient is agitated and may self harm or harm others, doctors will sign documentation, restraints are heartless, torturous, waterboarding from people with no conscious, thinking they’re doing the right thing. People don’t forget…
I can tell you’ve never worked in the icu. Restraints are necessary when a patient is trying their best to kill themselves by self extubating or pulling out other drains. Not to mention if a psych patient assaults staff. But go off about how they’re heartless. 😂
@@AllezlesParisiens restraints are used far too often and last a lifetime for the patient well-being, the psychological torture is unbearable with healthcare workers not caring about patient well-being(it should be outlawed)
@@Robert-wj3mj restraints will continue to be used as long as there are pts who are a danger to themselves or others. I hope the nhs has good therapy services for those who fit this criteria. 👍🏽
@@Robert-wj3mjIve seen patients beating up nurses and had to be put into restraints. In the real world, not the dewy-eyed world you live in, restraints are needed. Are they used too often? Yes.
OK, I work in the emergency room. Imagine having a 180cm 120kg person high off numerous different stimulants, cursing, threatening, and charging at the staff. If the person is deemed not to be in their right mind we have a duty to treat and won’t be ale to treat them if the patient t is violent and aggressive.
What would you do if you worked in a hospital, and one of the patients are being unruly and near violent to the nurses taking care of them? Trust me, this is a better alternative. Unless you want us to return to using the straightjackets of old….
@@darthplagueis3488 Or alternatively you could do what the UK does. Same combative patients, same bodybuilders in roid rage, same vulnerable young women with a history of trauma, and no restraints. EVER. And in the case of unruly patients, you have security for that. Is 'it is better for you' also why you tie pregnant women having C-sections up? That is also never done in the UK, and no issues. Tell me, are you into BDSM? Sounds like you are😂😂😂😂 Non consensual BDSM, bordering on rape
