Man I loved the first one, it was unforgiving, no stuck buttons, but man the heavy weapons were over powered it was awesome, I use to farm for certain characters
I got State of Decay 1 as a gift when it came out. I was 12, i have been playing the game ever since, im 22 now. This is literally my favorite game ever. The story, breakdown, lifeline, is such a unique game. Thank you all for your hard work. It means the world to us.
So much respect for the devs. I've never played a game that had so much consistent support as State of Decay 2. The dedication that Undead has to making sure its players feel their money was well spent is really commendable.
I'll never forget stumbling upon the demo of this game playing my 360... Something about the synopsis caught my attention, so I played the demo..... For HOURS!! Then I purchased the game for less than £4 due to gold membership discount. Fell in love with Everything in this game, even the minor bug and glitch issues I had. Maya and Marcus are the Only characters and stories I want a completion to. The main story and the the changes that can occur if you react or don't act quick enough, Sgt Tan, the Doc, Sam, even Alan.. This game Needs a boxset SoD2 remaster/remake with sequel mechanics but still being the same game at heart and story. Big up the Devs for giving me the perfect zombie game in SoD1.
Many of the music tracks in State of Decay remind me of the old music genre we used to call "Western", back before "Country" took over and killed it off. I think you can still find an occasional reference to it as "Cowboy" music too. I suspect it has roots in Spanish guitar music and probably a bit of bluegrass mixed in.
I think they touched upon all three of things I really wish had been kept from SoD1 (outpost traps are back in now, but they'd have been #4). Boarding up windows really is evocative of the fantasy this game is trying to capture, and I was disappointed when it wasn't in SoD2. The other two are the finishers and the individual influence, but those are just neat things I miss, even less essential in my mind than boarding up windows. Happy 10th anniversary, State of Decay! I hope we'll hear something about SoD3 soon...maybe *real* soon at an Xbox event? Dare to dream.
Omg...I love State of Decay 1. I 100% completed the Year-One Survival Edition a few months ago, I went back after not playing it for a few years to finish the Breakdown and Lifeline achievements. I also have close to 1,500 hours in State of Decay 2 and have 150/153 of the achievements, and once I finish those last 3 achievements I'm thinking of buying State of Decay 1 and the DLC on my Xbox 360. I absolutely love this franchise and love going after the achievements in the State of Decay games because they actually make you work for them...and they're fun too. With that being said, I do have a few issues to report that I've been experiencing in State of Decay 2 since Update 33 released. There's an issue where, whenever a text mission pops up on screen while playing, mission complete, etc it causes the game to stutter/lag for a fraction of a second. I've also been experiencing these random lag spikes that happen every few minutes, it's quick and doesn't last long, but I can definitely tell whenever it happens. Plus whenever a Leader's Legacy mission appears while you're at base, the game starts to lag from all the orange icons on the screen, and even when I go to my community screen with all the characters, it's extremely laggy there too while cycling through characters and it won't go away unless I complete the mission or switch to another character to cancel the mission. And lastly, I noticed the game takes a hit in performance too when driving through (lakes/rivers) water for a decent amount of time. And while panning around the map with the cursor and highlighting a bunch of the icons fast on the map, it feels like it slows down due to a performance issue. Idk what it is but, the game just feels off since the new update in terms of performance slow down in certain situations. With that being said, just know I appreciate everything you guys do at Undead Labs and I love your games.
It's amazing how much they accomplished with a small team and a 2 GB limit. I just wish the Trumball map in State of Decay 2 was as open and uncluttered as it was in State of Decay 1.
No. The game engine used to create the first game is totally different. They do not use it anymore, along with the fact that they cannot if they wanted to. I forget when I heard it, but Geoffrey did say that all of the assets used to create the game are no longer available. This means absolutely no more updates for SOD 1.
You guys make the T shirts for the stores, and Bronto stations, yet? I'd Kill for a Swine and Bovine shirt! BTW, If I make some T shirts, do you guys want me to send you some?
played it on release. uninstalled aftr 2 mins. bought yose on steam around 2017 and i just cnt help but love it. it was the zombie game that i always wanted. best zombie game imo.
I was 13 when it first came out for the summer games event. I played the the demo 15 times on my uncles Xbox. Went home, couldn’t find the game in the store. I just remembered turning the Xbox off and on to reset the home page ads because that’s were I found it the first time. It’s the perfect zombie game at the time. Now I play project zomboid.
I remember the "Crew" on the old State Of Decay forums, and how these players, modders and developers helped make the community something special. Here's a shout-out to Cejao, Bob Crees, Chikawowwow, D'Bri, Erudain, Morak, linanmian1984, and the rest of you fine old souls, and very much to all the old Forum Moderators who had the very trying time keeping us lunatics in line 😇 Keep on cleaning up Spencer's Mill!
I'm new to State of Decay I got State of Decay 2 for the Xbox series X and I bought 7 days to die and I regret every penny that I spent on it if I had purchased State of Decay first and then State of Decay to I never would have gotten 7 days to die and I would have saved the $27 but I'm going to invest heavily into this game
Please please please Swap shooting range 2 to warlord and fighting gym 2 to sheriff. PLEEEEAAAAASEEEEEE I have 50 days (irl) in SOD2 and I got sod1 at launch. (Not that that's any comparison to devs) but I love this game!! Hope everyone on the team is well!
🧟♂️🧟♀️💀👻🎂Happy birthday SOD1!! I still love this game, made a Lifeline play through on my branded channel not so far ago and it was a blast! I used to hate Lilly in this game so much always pushing you over the radio "our friends need our help" and you're there getting ripped apart by hordes, getaway car exploded lol haha she's much cuter in SOD2 ;) take care guys and take your time for the next one and deliver another masterpiece! Cheers!
You should because sod 1 was actually difficult(not just more zombies and more damage) and had a story and characters that mattered and an insane selection of guns
@@randomdude4669 facts. The experience in SoD1 just can't be replicated in the sequel. Characters, stories, missions, and as the days went by, the zombie numbers grew. As you said, guns and melee weapons were off the chain.
No hate. Just a note to say that the nostalgia towards SOD 1 for many players have been the lore on the beginning of the apocalypse. SOD 1 represents the very beginning of all things gone wrong. Most of the characters are long gone and the very few that are left all have their stories. It takes a really long time to piece it all together and still the picture is not quite clear. SOD 1 may be a little janky to play, but overall, if you play to try and understand the story being told instead of just beating the game, it becomes something a little more different.
@@kmdreacts Agreed. Heartland DLC was a story which is meant to transition the period from SOD 1 to SOD 2. Something happened in the times of the Heartland experience which changed the story from SOD 1. Some type of evolution of the zomibie apocalypse took place and all of a sudden everything became about blood plague. This is when the plague hearts arose and became the new threat to all existing communities/survivors.
I agree on every detail you guys mentioned I love watching people playing it just me personally playing I cant do it SOD2 put a spell on me that I cant let go or play SOD1
The amount of content they managed to cram in SOD1 and the quality of it all are a testament to their ingenuity, creativity, and skill as developers
Are the bug map and crash is fixing??/

What a great dev team. It's really great that they continue to update the games to make them enjoyable for all players.

Optimize State of Decay for next-gen with FPS Boost! SOD1 needs 60fps badly
This.

10 years? You guys keep updating state of decay 2 that the third game definitely should be excellent
I love these Games.
Wouldnt happen to sell state of decay 1 still?
I used to like the illusion of an active community while your away from the game. Farming characters was awesome too.
You can say this is State of DECAYde
