This is awesome! Perfect timing ,as I am creating a journal for my Granddaughter. I hadn't sewed in the signatures yet so this is perfect to add to her journal. Your tutorial, craft along, makes perfect sense !! Thank you for sharing !!
I love all your creations. I have to make this . Thanks for the tutorial, easy to follow. I’m a watercolor artist on Etsy , and making art journals is my way of relaxing. So much fun. I’m hooked forever. 👩🏻🎨
love it! made along with you, i need more practise as i couldnt cut mine so neatly to get the pockets straight. i glued mine into a junk journal attached to book pages on either side and will decorate it now.
I really love this. I'm new to your channel and i love how you are so good explaining what your doing so thank you so much. I'll be watching your channel
Well, if this is one of your first videos you are doing great. Really enjoyed it. I will look for others from you. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
I was just browsing and found you. What a pleasant surprise! Love the folio and will be trying my hand at this. Thanks for sharing. Btw you are a wonderful teacher😊
Super cute I insert love how easy it is to make & decorate I’ll be making a few of these soon!! I don’t t have a score board but... I will figure out how to get my creases straight!! TFS. 😊🤗💗
Sweet. Second time I saw this. I think I’ll attempt to put it in my journal tomorrow. TFS. New sub. Look forward to see your journals. I’m going to finish mine first! Sometimes I have an idea, then I watch a video and someone else is already doing it! Isn’t that funny?!
Thank you! Yeah, it's probably easier to decorate it first. But I never know how I want it all to look and what papers I want on it until I get to embellishing the journal. Have fun with it!
Thank you for sharing this...!!! I watched the one by my porch prints, and came over to watch your video... So I'm working on mine now... Printing out more papers to decorate it with... 😂😂😂 It's such a great clever little insert...!!! You rock...!!! 🤗♥️😘🌹

Hi Peggy. Thanks for watching. This is one of my older tutorials. I really need to redo this one. I am a lot more comfortable on camera now and have a lot better quality of lighting. I'll add this one to my list of ones to redo.
I treated the insert just as any other signature and sewed it into my binding the same way and at the same time as my other signatures. There are lots of videos on YT for sewing in signatures. I have a recent tutorial for sewing in signatures. It is part of a 4 part series I made constructing a hardcover journal
It just looks like you sewed it into a book that was already finished ? And just added it to an already sewn in signature using the same holes?? Is that right? It’s a bit confusing HOWEVER fabulous and I will figure it out !
I love this I'm making another one tomorrow. I make these all the time. If I post on Instagram I'll tag you in it. Thanks so much for sharing with us all.
I just found and subscribed (10.9.19). I am making a travel journal and I think this will make a great place to keep receipts, stubs and tickets for the trip. Thank you for sharing. Great tutorial...hugs from Arizona...;)
Hello, I just recently found your channel. Fantastic concepts and lovely tutorials like this one. I will be watching, although I do not often comment. Happy crafting...
Thanks so much Mary! They are a lot of fun to make and really add that special wow factor in a journal! I buy all my sari silk ribbon from Victorian gypsy girl on Etsy. She has lots of colors, great prices, and great quality.www.etsy.com/shop/VictorianGypsygirl
I have been working on updating some of my older tutorials like this one. I will be redoing this tutorial very soon and I will show how I sewed it in. In the meantime, I sewed it in like it was its own individual signature.
Love this and will definitely make one. I’m curious why you didn’t put your decorative papers on before you sewed it into your signature. It would have been easier, but I am assuming there was a reason...
It was just the way I operated then. This video is almost a year old and my processes of crafting have changed a lot since then. My quality of videos has also changed a lot since then. This particular tutorial is on my list of ones to update and redo. You most definitely can decorate beforehand.
@@thebookvandalshop5592 Well, I certainly understand that!!! Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing some benefit. I'm discovering how very little I know about this process. This is really a lovely journal you're creating. I know most of your subscribers are experienced at journaling and crafting but for beginners can you show how you sew the inserts in? Thank you. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you as well! ❤ In my 2 most recent videos, I show how to prepare a hidden binding and sew in signatures (it's part 5 and 6 of a hardcover journal cover I did). @@thebookvandalshop5592 Ha well that makes a lot more sense. Just like you sew in a regular signature
How did you sew in the file folder -- won’t fit under my machine...

How did you sew it in with your book already put together?

How do you see it into a signature that is already sewn into a journal?
You can't as far as I know. It needs to be sewn into the journal at the same time you're sewing in your other signatures
Why not cover with the decorative paper before sewing into journal??
How how how did you sew it into an existing signature?
I didn't. I sewed it in at the same time as all the others
I am watching for the second time and I have another question? Why do you sew the booklet in and then add the papers wouldn’t it be easier to add them and then sew it in?
I do it this way because I don't want the extra bulk and weight or the ribbon ties on when I'm sewing it in with my signature. I also do it this way because I can use up my smaller paper scraps from embellishing to cover up the folder. I tend to bind first, then embellish. You can do in the order that is most comfortable for you.
