I have a GoPro 10, a Skyneat Anamorphic lens and a Comica CVM-VM10 MK2 external microphone mounted on it, inside a GoPro Media Mod, and an Inkee Falcon Plus stabilizer. I shoot 4K @ 60fps, Medium Sharpness, HyperSmooth (Standard), Lens (Linear + Horizon Leveling ), Bit Rate (High), Shutter (Auto), EV Comp (-0.5), White Balance (Auto), ISO (100 Low - 800 High ) and Color ( Flat ). Post production software (Davinci Resolve Studio 17 ). Works Great !

What's the resolution that's actually uploaded to RUclips ? Seems hard to compare 1080p/4K/5K side by side when the RUclips will actually be post-processed to the final resolution (4K, I would assume).

1080p video will look more like 1080p video when viewed in 4k on youtube than if viewed in 1080p. Because the 1080p bitrate on RUclips is so low.

Thanks for the comparison video. I would like to use it for travel vlog during daylight. What is your opinion on the best settings in terms of FPS, 4K vs 5K and Linear vs Wide?

    • @VictorReviewsGarage
      @VictorReviewsGarage  2 года назад +3

      Hey 👋
So I think it depends what you want to do and what you have as editing tool.
      My travel setup:
5k/4k based on a case by case
      over 60fps
      Sharpness Medium or High
      Quality: high quality
      Color: GoPro or Vivid
Linear with HL and Wide for scenery.
      2x128gb micro sd cards
      2 or 3 Batteries
If I would have been building a travel vlog I would for sure use 4k60 Linear with horizon levelling most of the time and then wide for big views or first person view (when you have your camera next to your body)
Sometimes I switch to 5k 60 if the scenery is especially beautiful and then I can crop in later and export in 24fps/ 1080p.
Basically I would only shoot in above 60fps so I can get that buttery slow movement if I need it and then choose between 1080/4k/5k based on my situation.
Keep in mind 5k 60 is a big file and also consumes battery faster + harder to edit. (I will make a video about this)
BUT In the end it is about the story you say and the angles you film yourself with. So just go for 4k Linear if you are starting out. Don't hesitate to share your travel gopro videos with me I love travel vlogs so you have one subscriber here :D

    • @VictorReviewsGarage
      @VictorReviewsGarage  2 года назад +2

Also always I use the Hypersmooth boost. always. I feel like the stabilisation is just the best even if a bit cropped in.

Sir I have also purchased gopro hero 10 black but I am not able to suit video in that because it has a lot of modes and I am not able to understand anything you help me while riding bike and shoot in mode from normal video and in how many regulation and fPS which will run in all mobiles

    • @VictorReviewsGarage

Hey Digvijay, here is my advice:
If you have a good phone or computer to edit:
      Resolution: 4k 16:9
      Framerate: 24fps
If you have a normal phone or computer to edit:
      Resolution: 2.7k 16:9
      Framerate: 24fps
If you wear gopro on chest or hat use Lens: WIDE camera. If you have it on your bike Lens: LINEAR (maybe HorizonLeveling).
      Other settings:
      Hypersmooth Boost anytime you shoot
      Bitrate: Standard
      Sharpness: High
      Color Profile: VIVID
      ----
I personally shoot in 5.3k 60fps but really hard to edit.

Excellent video! I would say the 5k 60fps would make for a clearer 4k 60fps in post, unless you just use 4k 60fps.
The 4k 120fps is a setting I actually need and desire for the most part since I promote 120fps video playback on my channel. I would do 4k 120fps linear since I really have no other choice, haha.
The 2.7k 120fps and 240fps really need to be sharper. I would use the 240fps occasionally but not too often since it's a bit too blurry image wise.
I still would buy this camera since it's only $500 or $400 with the 1 year subscription on GoPro's website. The high quality 4k 120fps cameras can retail for thousands of dollars 💸 💵

Thanks for doing this. I was thinking doing the same thing, but thank to your excellent video it is obvious that 4K 60fps is the best for almost anything. Wide can be a bit of problem when filming buildings due to distortion but fine for nature. I think that the camera is not doing any noise reduction in 4K 120fps. Also surprised that 5.3K does not look sharper than 4K?

Were the bitrate, sharpness, and stabilization settings the same for all of the tests? Some of the footage feels a bit over-sharpened maybe?
For wide vs linear, jury is out. A key question is how will you use the footage? If you're happy with the wide look then wide is probably the way to go. But if you expect to correct the fisheye in post, my hunch is that doing linear in-camera would be the better bet. Would be great to see a comparison of 4K linear straight from the camera, vs 4K wide corrected to linear in post.

then choose the best option for your storage :D 4k 60fps or 5k 60fps

Lol why is 4k better? You can see the rocks more on the ground. Something wrong man

I think 5k 60 is great for all exept for editing, it might be slower :D

Absolutely. This is how I will be filming also. But you think this is all? I just got the DJI action 2. OMG... will post a video soon.

@@VictorReviewsGarage Me too 4K 60fps was the clear winner from what I've seen👍

This is actually a great review. I fall for 4K 60fps. So, I have to make an additional "experiment" to convince myself.
    GoPro 10 - sharpness medium
    4K60 vs 5.3K60
Indeed 4K was sharper than that of 5.3K .... but .... using Davinci, I managed to sharpen 5.3K to achieve almost similar sharpness to that of 4K.
Indeed extra work is required here, but for certain clips (or for most of it), I would stick to 5.3K (or 5K on GP9).

Yup, I think it's a balance on how much you work on them. I agree with you.
TBH I kind of chose in what I shoot (5.3k vs 4k) based on what I will shoot and my intention to actually edit it afterwards.
How does DaVinci scrub through the 5.3k does it breath heavily or just keeps the butter smoothness? (I don't mean export I mean actual edit time while you are editing the footage)

@@VictorReviewsGarage I do the same as well, but try to shoot most of my clips in 5.3K60, except for when recording indoors with less light, I'll do 5.3K30. During bad lighting, I would go down to 4K60 or even 4K30.
I am on Macbook Pro 15" with an Intel processor (GPU is Radeon Pro). My workflow is by importing/exporting from/to an external SSD.
A 1.5 mins clip took around 4 minutes to complete (single clip, sharpened), original in 5.3K30 exported as 4K30. If you mean that "during" editing, then I would say it was butter smooth, with no hiccup during slicing-deleting or when moving your cursor on the timeline.
I think the choice for 4K60 over 5.3K60 for those who argued that 4K looks sharper should be tied to "sharp for those who prefer not to do post-processing".

You think all the 4k frame rates are blurry? Or just a specific one?
