I would have removed some of those stitches, turned those seams where I wanted them to be, then resew them. That is one of the reasons I have so many UFOs in my sewing room. This is a cute block. I think I would use dark solid fabrics for the small parts of the Shoofy.

This video taught me three things, firstly the way to make the block, secondly as you pointed out, a bit more contrast may be needed and thirdly to be aware that if possible, it is a good idea to keep the ‘weight’ of the fabrics about the same when sewing a block, so I can just concentrate on pressing the seams with ‘nesting’ in mind. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how to make the psychedelic snowflakes, your quilt is stunning!

Love your blocks/patterns. I do have a question regarding this pattern. The blue rectangles you are showing as 2.5 by 4.5. Shouldn't the rectangle be 2.5 by 5.5? I've not tried a test block but logically I would think it should be 5.5 inches. If not, why would it be 4.5"? Thank you for all your free patterns and your tutorials. I would have removed some of those stitches, turned those seams where I wanted them to be, then resew them. That is one of the reasons I have so many UFOs in my sewing room. This is a cute block. I think I would use dark solid fabrics for the small parts of the Shoofy.

This video taught me three things, firstly the way to make the block, secondly as you pointed out, a bit more contrast may be needed and thirdly to be aware that if possible, it is a good idea to keep the ‘weight’ of the fabrics about the same when sewing a block, so I can just concentrate on pressing the seams with ‘nesting’ in mind.
I am definitely looking forward to seeing how to make the psychedelic snowflakes, your quilt is stunning!

Love your blocks/patterns. I do have a question regarding this pattern. The blue rectangles you are showing as 2.5 by 4.5. Shouldn't the rectangle be 2.5 by 5.5? I've not tried a test block but logically I would think it should be 5.5 inches. If not, why would it be 4.5"? Thank you for all your free patterns and your tutorials.
