So im assuming this is a way to dry the beans that werent quite dry before the first frost? Maximizing the harvest, stretching it as long as possible? Im extremely curious to see the results.
sounds like this was a way to save the beans for holidays and other 'events" during the winter....they say to use 'fresh young tender beans" which to me means first growth like late spring? I have no idea but we'll see how wonderful they are..i have my doubts.
You have a great collection of books there! Thank you for showing this. Probably the oldest method of saving them and a way I want to try. Bless you and your family.
thanks! these are great to look over when one has time on their hands and we've had a bit of it during our lock downs....this is a great book set for sure.
we suddenly got winds up to 50 MPH and smoke from the fires between us and you guys in Idaho. i texted my sister and suggested she top up their fresh water and get the batteries ready (we did the same) she said when she was texting me back her power went out. I know you guys are prepared which makes me feel better!

@@OldSchoolPrepper it just seems like this is an awful waste of time and resources. Pressure canning, I would imagine, rendered this obsolete

@@OldSchoolPrepper Yeah I broke out the oil lamps and LED flashlights. The grandsons thought it was an adventure.
