Thank you so much for your connected interface videos. I was able to connect four Pro-40s loaded with inputs from outboard gear and get ev'rything up and running successfully complete with live monitoring. Excellent resource!!
Absolutely priceless video, thanks! Just the one I’ve been looking for. I have two Saffs Pro 40 and had no clew how to daisy chain them! This video is the best tutorial for dummies like me! Millions of thanks! A like and subscription from me!
I`m just the same. Fiddeling around with all kinds of gear to use or missuse for recording. I`m also the only guy I know who synced to stereo VHS machines for 4 track recording (back in the 80`s).
Fantastic explanation of how to connect via tos links and firewire etc. I’ve got the Clarett 8 Pre X and the OctoPre and a Behringer Ultragain Pro 8 ad /ad converter all coupled with toslink cables giving me 32 audio channels. I’m having great success with this on a MacBook Pro 2019. Greetings to Scotland from Sherwood Forest Notts 😁😁👍👍
This is not ridiculous at all! In fact this can work for someone that want to record a whole band through an interface. Furthermore, you gave an excellent idea to record my band…I just need to get another Saffire Pro 40 at least! 😂
I have a question! I’m wanting to do this set up and was wondering what is the newest Mac I can get and still be compatible with the sapphire and sapphire mixed control?
Thank you. I have a m-Audio Profire2626 and two focusrite octo pre MKII. Connected the ADAT correctly, but I get a crackling sound on my second focusrite when I record. It does record, but there is a crackling sound. Have you any idea what might be causing this?

Honestly with what’s out there today I would go with an EVO 16 and their new expansion units the SP8. They work together well as 1 unit and it can give you 24 channels.
Great video, thanks for this. I have a question if you see this - in your experiment, did all of the outputs across all 4 interfaces work too? My goal is to route 40 channels of audio out of my DAW, through the 40 jack outputs across 4 interfaces (set up as you've demonstrated) and then into each individual channel of a 40 channel analogue console, so that I can mix full 40 track productions "out of the box". Keen to hear if you had any evidence of all of those outputs working alongside the great may inputs 😂😂😂 We must be completely barking mad right? Thanks again!
Yeah so all 40 inputs were working! I'd say you'll be able to get that working no bother, there will likely be 1 or 2 stumbles but it's technically possible. Good luck!

Can a 24 mic/pre channels be achieved by using a Scarlett 18i20 3rd with 2 Saffire Pro40’s? Same as your video but with 1 Scarlett instead of 2 Clarett’s.
Will more audio tracks risk crashing the OS on the computer, or is all the extra ‘strain’ happening within the interfaces so the amount of tracks coming in doesn’t matter?
