- Let's relax and paint some cute watercolor birds! I had a lot of fun with this one. No matter how you paint birds, they're going to end up...well, looking like birds. Round. Small. Perfect.
This past week has been a weird one, health-wise. I was struck down with a mysterious illness. Which sounds dramatic and exciting, like I'm about to gain superpowers, but it just involved severe cramping and bloating, and there's no sign of me turning green yet. So video-making and editing haven't been at the top of my list of priorities. I'm slowly getting back into the rhythm, though, so fingers crossed nothing else rears its head in the next few weeks.

I am so very grateful to have found a space where the art is beautiful, and the artist has a deep understanding of what both watercolour and art in general can do for a heavy heart. Your voice is calming and innately kind. Couple this with your art and what you arrive at is a moment of serene pleasure in a world often determined to have us blowing about through the storm that can be life to many, myself included. I feel more relaxed than I have in months. Considering I am in the midst of a home move of several hundred miles, and will be doing this alone as I lost my best friend, Lily my cat to age. Not that I ever knew her age, as I rescued her as an adult in 2011. Lily was not a bird killer, and simply enjoyed watching them lazily whilst half asleep. Your painting reminded me of this, and that same lazy, relaxed feeling found me. Thank you and never apologise for a voice gifted as much as your artist heart. ❤️🖌👩🏻🎨🎨

I loved your narrating, so refreshing and authentic! My 18mo danced to your music while I watched you paint these « so-cute-I-can’t-stand-it » birds! I love nuthatchs and especially the tufted titmouse, they can be so fluffy, so I was happy to see one being painted! Both are on my sketchbook waiting to be painted!

Such a beautiful relaxing way to start my day. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you paint these beautiful birds I try to watch at least one painting video each morning with my coffee, really, my Diet Coke. Lol anyway, I found this video and with a calm peaceful way to start my day. Thank you so much.
I love how grumpy the one on the bottom looks. 😂 Nothing is better than tiny, poofy, adorable little birds with grumpy little faces.
Also, I relate to feeling weird talking in videos. Your voice is really soothing though.
I think the paintings of the birds is really well done, realistic but not overly done. I do think they need some indication of sitting on branches and something to tie everything together in a composition. Just some background washes would help. Personally I'm not a fan of bleached white paper as a background, some people are, its subjective.
Don't be afraid of making videos. They'll help you grow. ❤

Yes, I definitely found peace in watching this video. Job done ☺. I love how fresh and loose the birds are, with so many undertones. When I paint birds I tend to get caught in the minutia of feathers etc. Ur way is so much more impactful in my opinion. I think a limited palette definitely helps so I'll give that a go. Also, the voice-over was spot-on. Thanks so much for another fab video. All the best from Australia x

So i have “played” with watercolours for years, the constant struggle with dilution but this video is inspiring me to stop and really focus on subtle tones. I love the subject and the voice over is lovely. So glad i stumbled over your channel today.
