    But mam when nitrogen shares its lone pair to the hydrogen ion so how it acqires octet.

    • @utsavd3263
      @utsavd3263 4 года назад +1

      As mam said, the lone pair is shared by both nitrogen and hydrogen atoms simultaneously but provided by only nitrogen atom. Hence nitrogen acquires it's octet along with hydrogen.

    Mam why one hydrogen is deficient? We know hydrogen has one electron in its valence shell so where is that one electron in case of NH4 ion.

    • @b_08_amitkumarsahu90
      @b_08_amitkumarsahu90 6 лет назад +1

      Kiran Arif it is h+ it is h ion

    • @yukthikalpana1767
      @yukthikalpana1767 6 лет назад

      It has lost that one electron of its valence shell thus it is H+ ...without losing that electron it is mere H with one valence electron thus it is deficient

    Mamm nice explanation.... But one doubt.... Nitrogen already it's having octet... but after donating electrons to BF3... It looses octet then what's the use of dative bond then... Can you please clarify my doubt..... At the same time H+ ion got electron pair again y we are writing positive charge to whole nh4+ .... Only nitrogen should get + charge naaa

    I dont understand one thing. HCL is creating covalent bond, meaning they share there electrons to become duplet and octet. But how hydrogen became H+ and bond with lone pair of ammonia. I mean hydrogen in HCL should already get its stability by sharing its electrons with Chlorine. So hydrogen received lone pair?
