Amazing, just like that, you are a trooper Bryce, go to sleep in a tiny tent, not worried about bears, cougars, etc. Thank you for the great videos.
went in july. the flowers and scenery were divine.
Excellent video! Thank you for this. I am planning on doing this in late July, and watching these videos helps alot.
Hey have a good trip! I rented a car at the airport. Not sure about Uber In The area. Any other questions let me know. Happy to help
@@BryceNewbold thanks Bryce. I thought about a rental, but the prices now a days discouraged me. Either way, can't wait. Thanks for the epic videos.
I hiked the Timberline Trail 3 weeks ago. Best backpacking trip I have taken so far. It was challenging enough to make it fun. The views were incredible.
Hoping to hike this late July! Super excited since I had to delay last year due to fire closures.
Awesome edit and amazing scenery!! I’m am still confused if it’s three nights or four nights on the trail, lol 😂
the world will never know!
I had that same “I’ll never forget this” moment at Thunder Spring in the Grand Canyon. Sometime you come to a spot and, for whatever reason, it strikes you soul deep. Excellent video.
Bryce, thanks for taking the time to film your Oregon hikes. I’m leaving Saturday for Three Sister. Due to air quality, we may have to switch last minute and do the Timberline. Regardless of what we do, your videos have given me a sense of confidence, that I got this! You are fun to watch and I hope I make it look as easy as you did. Thanks!
Very talented videographer. Awesome video
appreciate it man . thanks
Very few people (ultra runners) do the whole 40 miles in a day, most hikers do it in 4-6 days. I find it's more enjoyable this way, the more time I spend out camping, the better my life gets.
ive ran 50 miles in a day once. but it wasn't on terrain like this! I couldn't imagine
I think this is our favorite video of yours....not to say the others aren't great, but this one was really outstanding!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much! I loved the way the timberline videos turned out! glad you feel the same!
Very cool video. I came across it by chance - I watched your first backpacking mistakes video and saw this one - I'm going to be doing the Timberline trail in 3-4 nights in mid July. Your pack certainly looks smaller than what I'm planning. I'm a bit jealous. I'm at about 35-40 pounds depending on how much food I bring, and it looks like yours must be half of that.
Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.
What month was the hike?
Great videos, you my new favorite you tuber!
Thanks! Favorite comment of the day! haha
First line is couldn't 'mentally take another one'..bro I did this trail in 2 days easy last summer
Bro I did the entire 3 sisters loop with south sister summit in 3 days right before this. Watch the videos.
Hey, what map did you use for this trip?
The Animal. Loved that movie many years ago!
haha!! first comment on the badger milk! funny movie
Thanks for the videos! The scenery is awesome.
thanks man
What airport did you fly into
Great video. I've been watching for a while now and we seem to have similar hiking styles. Its good to know i'm not the only person that will hike extra to get to my next cold beer a day early (or at least give it some serious consideration). Thanks for the content Bryce.
haha! im a sucker for a good craft beer. Thanks for watching man
@@BryceNewbold as am I. If you ever run I to a beer from barley browns. Or baker city brewing co. Give it a shot. Looking forward to more videos!
we gotta get out to timberline trail . great video cant wait for part 2
Looks like an amazing trip! The scenery is so different from what we are used to here in Ohio. Can’t wait to make it out west someday!
So different! thanks for watching!
Epic video dude! Did the Timberline myself last summer, incredible trail.
Thanks man. Timberline is awesome. I hope to come back someday
Nice editing. The trail looks absolutely amazing!!!
Love the Mohican 100 shirt!
My family and I just completed the Oregon section of the PCT and came upon the site my son and I met you camping on Timberline and was saddened to see it no longer existed. There was a HUGE wind storm last year and decimated a ton of the area with downed trees. There are literally hundreds of downed trees all over Timberline and continue North on the PCT from the Timberline trail. Side note, if you are ever up for a quick three day adventure around the amazing Loowit Trail (circumference of Mt St Helens) hit me up, it’s a must if you make it back out this way.
Loved that Mohican shirt ... advertisement for our awesome Buckeye hiking!!🤪🤪
Do you use one pair of socks or two? I used to have blister issues, but wear a silk layer and then a good hiking sock and that cured about 70% of my blister problem. Just feel bad for you ... blisters can just make ya miserable!! Love this trip so far.😎😎
I only wore 1 pair. the blisters weren't too awful. I babied them for a couple days and then they were ok
Great trip Bryce! This one and the Three Sisters hike look like a good combination. Going solo it's hard to slow down - seems like it's more enjoyable to be on-trail then in camp.
yea that's really true. never thought of it like that.
Great video, thanks. Would you recommend a bear bag, or bear canister?
never used a bear can but ive also never camped in grizzly bear country. lol...
I just hung my food bag to prevent rodents from getting onto it.
Your videos are awesome and super helpful. What Tent is this? I’m looking to purchase a new tent for 2020
thanks man! It is an unreleased prototype that will unfortunately not be available! :(
Bryce Newbold bummer! I’m going to try out the Six Moon Designs Lunar solo tent out this year. Should be interesting
@@jasonmillwood2893 that one is awesome. I actually want one. Hope it works out for ya
Bryce Newbold I’ll keep you updated. Going to use it a lot here on the Florida Trail and in Colorado this spring
@@jasonmillwood2893 nice. Please do
stinky lipstick 😂 ... great time-lapse with awesome soundtrack and wonderful views ! ... I can't wait to see episode 2 😀
thanks dude! I better start making it then . haha
For blisters, take a thread and sewing needle. Thread the thread through the blister with a little hanging outside of the blister on each side. This will drain the blister slowly and the thread will eventually fall out.
nice. I usually just rip off all the skin and regret it. haha
Just let the old skin fall off. It acts as s natural band aid.
I was curious what the date was you hiked the trail. My wife and I hiked the trail August 13-16 this year.
I believe I was there Aug 26th-30 of this year
Great vid bro! I live 10 min from Smith Rock when home (Bend/Redmod area). I love that trail! :)
Did a section of this last week via Lolo Pass in fresh snow. Beautiful!
awesome! so jealous of you all that live out there
Hello Bryce, are you going to patent the Nuun-Tang beverage? I will give that one a try, for sure. As a youngster, my parents and I lived in Portland, Or. I was able to go to Mt. Hood many times. Thank you for sharing this really fine video. Be safe and take care. 🤗
haha!! mayb! Thanks again Ronald!
I must say absolutely beautiful trail
I am glad that you are feeling much better
Don't forget to take care of your feet and the sunscreen
Mental breaks as required
They are all healed up!
When did you do your timberline hike?
started august 27th 2019
Bryce Newbold cool! I started August 17th. Yes!, some fun water crossings!😳
I really want to do this trip! What do you recommend, three days or four? Thanks.
4. take your time!
I agree, 3 nights is the perfect pace to really enjoy the incredible views.
Nice views Bryce, I like the status updates but you should add more views less talk. Slow down a little no rush I felt like I was in a marathon...lol Use that Pan more chill with the camera combine add some art....its ok to slow down your not on a jet. I know I know its kinda hard to believe your there....lol
lol..thats just how I edit man. I have ADD too bad to have slow paced videos . but im a marathon runner too so maybe that's why It felt like that? . haha!! I took over 1000 video clips in 9 days in Oregon, You have no idea how hard that is to edit. lol. thanks for the tips but... no … and no hard feelings haha..
@@BryceNewbold your right Bryce, I have no idea what it's like running a marathon in the outback, but the place you were at was so cool. I hope you had fun that's all that matters. One night I found myself talking to the all the critters felt like I was being greeted by a screech owl thought it was Big Foot so I whistled back. Big mistake rocks started flying at my tent. Pretty darn scary.
@@BryceNewbold There's plenty of videos with views in them. I like your mixture of views & talk, it works well. 👍
what kind of tent are you using?
Prototype. Not available
Is Nu-Tang like Wu-Tang? :)
yea pretty much the same 😂
Bryce Newbold this will be my new trail drink
Nu-Tang is for the children. 🏔🏕
Too much complaining but thanks.
Looking back at this one I agree. I like to share my experience even if they are bad. But this one was a bit scary at the time being solo and definitely has a downer vibe. I urge you to check out some newer vids. I learned from this one
Hey did you ever mention what your new tent is?
nope. it will probably be like a year until I do. lol. early stages of production
I'd bet money it's LiteAF tent they coming up with if it is it sure looks nice
Nathaniel Poulin My money is on- Lighthearted Gear.
Even though the peak seems to be ~ 41”, can’t imagine one being able to sit up without head hitting the steep, sloping walls.
Although, if you slow it down around 10:15, I see it is a double wall. Complete enclosed bug netting walls after taking rain fly off.
Additionally, it kinda (?) looks like a HMG logo tent bag that he is stuffing it in after taking it down.
??? Lightheart Gear or HMG ??!
Was thinking hmg given the whiteness and the new hat Bryce is sporting
Thank God for moleskin and safety pins.
Some day I'll visit this portion of God's Country.
Keep up the great work Bryce. Thank you sir again. : )
Thanks man. I actually never use moleskin. I just embrace the pain. lol
You're welcome.
The pain adds to the memories and builds character.

Been quite a while since I have been up in that area ☹️
Glad u got the chance 👍👍.... Remember how beautiful the Colorado trip was ????
Ur in the wrong part of the country for a guy who can really appreciate it ( out doors ). . FilTer _ filDer who cares 🙃 as long as it's out of doors !!!!
Peace n good will amigo ☺️😃
haha.. yea it wasn't too hot but my skin said otherwise. that 98 degree day was nothing compared to 85 in ohio!
