Good question, I've seen fl studio users do it before tons and I don't really see much of an issue with it yet. But recently in school I learnt that eq goes after compression, I'll start experimenting with it and then I'll see what sounds better.
not sure, you might need to double click the audio you just recorded, look at the red thing in the top right corner of that window and drag it until you get it to the right number track (I recommend putting it on either mains or adlibs)

@LJ luckily I'm currently learning logic pro x at the moment to see if it is worth it. 'Don't have a mac yet although I will get one soon. In the meantime, is there anything I can help you with on logic?
