I've been wanting a purple guitar since Cradle of Filth became my entry level band into dark and black metal 20+ years ago...Still want one, never got one lol. Pink seems to be the next trendy colour after purple that everyone seems to love. I am not sure why but it really has something. Pink, purple, and white simply look sexy
One detail I like about this guitar is that they put the volume knob next to the bridge, so that it's not right under the bridge pick up - like some other guitar types.
Great video, my 446 was delivered last week. Your certainly right with your points , what I am very surprised about was the set up out the box , really very good. Bit of work needed with polishing the frets like yours then it will be a very nice guitar. My colour is blood metallic red which looks awesome
Bought a metallic green one. Tuning is concrete stable with D'Addario XL 117s (11 set) tuned to C standard after a good setup. No sharp fret ends, just a tiny bit dry fingerboard (fixed with Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes). Fabulous looking, very comfortable and versatile axe for the money. Thought I share :)
2-week update: got bored of the C-standard, gonna go back to E-standard and replace the strings with EB nickel 9s. Having a bit of trouble setting the neck long-term, buzz here and there so apparently it's not as perfect as I first thought. Still a cool sounding guitar, maybe a bit one-dimensional overall (good to have coil split at least).
@@CoryMura artec is one of those hit and miss brands. Cheap stuff and some of it is actually pretty good. You just need to try them or know which ones are good. I wrote my comment at the beginning of watching the video. Then as i listened to more of your playing and i liked them even more. I completely agree with you. These are just objectively good pickups. Not even just compared to the price.

Great review Cory, you were one of the first mentioning versatility of the guitar with split coil positions, and explaining it - very informative. I think this is very good entry level all-rounder for home recording and musical projects - you dont have to buy extra HSS or HSH for single pickup sound 👍. Wish they will make more green coloured guitars, such as this one with green flamed maple top🧫

ABS is Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene - it's an incredibly tough (and light) plastic that's used for upmarket suitcases, camera cases etc. I think Ibanez uses it - well, pretty sure they did on my Ibanez anyway.

I was going to buy an Ibanez to get the best of both worlds: EVH style playing and Strat style(because some Ibanez’s are capable) However, I’ve fallen in love with the R446. Which allows me to get a gig bag and pedal. Only issue: no whammy bar. Can a whammy pedal fill the gap for both dirty and clean? Or at least dirty? What is an alternate solution?
Great to see you again, i have been following your excellent reviews for a few years and have missed you for a while now. HB can make some good value for money desirable guitars, provided you get a good blemish free sample and from my experience this is not always the case. I now only buy their indonesian made Fusion models, they are good out of the box and don't need a lot of work or upgrades to make the play well. Thanks for this review Cory, looking forward to more new video's from you.🙂👍

Saitenlage kam direkt von Thomann gut und Tief eingestellt. Die Pickups hab ich ganz nach Gehör eingestellt, aber wenn du genaue Abstände wissen willst dann messe ich nochmal.
Those measurements are mixed up in the guitar community anyways. It's what ibam used too. Weight is in kg (EU) . But string gauge and fretboard radius was always in US measurements, so inches. Just an example.
Seeing it from pictures I was hoping the color would be way darker. This looks more like eggshell than plum or even pink. Strange. And sad they still dont make more purple colored guitars imo. ^^ I love this model though, looks like great model to upgrade and tinker with on your own. Pups certainly dont sound very good to me.
I wonder if you'll ever review the Extreme 76 classic, it's a black explorer shape guitar that doesn't have an in depth review, and would love to see one!

Thanks.. Man, who knows. Maybe the HB has even been built by Cort. HB got no own factories afaik. Cort is solid stuff. The x100 got a trem, that's what makes it a bit more versatile. As far as i can see both guitars got high output pickups with a 5 way switch. So soundwise i don't expect too much differences. If you can, order both and keep the one you like better.

Thanks, but i cant help sadly, havent checked the JS22s. So whatever i say... It wouldn't be fair. BUT so far i havent seen anything that can beat the r446 at this price point.
Actually a very good guitar, but what stopped me from buying it are the Artec pickups. If Harley Benton had also equipped this guitar with the great Roswell pickup, I would have kept the guitar in Graphite Metallic. I wonder why Harley Benton (Thomann) didn't install a Roswell here, but used the Artec ????
Price. I haven't seen them Roswells in a long time anywhere. I think they only use them in some of the bit pricier guitars. Those Artecs sound fine thou, and they are quite possibly an improvement over the HB stock pickups they use in their other cheaper guitars.
That's hard. I would stay away from guitars with floyd at this low price point. A good floyd costs more then that alone... But i would look into the *Jackson JS32 *Harley Benton R-456fr *Cort X-250 In that order. But i recommend to raise that budget

Hey, danke für das Review. Ich habe bislang nur Bass gespielt (Long Scale), will aber auch mit Gitarre anfangen. Würdest du sagen, dass die Gitarre für einen Anfänger(habe eher schlanke nicht wahnsinnig lange Finger) (mit evtl. Bünde schleifen nachpfeilen etc.) geeignet ist zum Üben und Spielen von verschiedenen Sounds?
Ja, total geeignet. Wenn du das Bünde schleifen nicht erwähnt hättest hätte ich eher nein gesagt, weil das für einen Anfänger ziemlich Frustrierend sein könnte. Ist natürlich durchaus möglich das ich Pech hatte bei meiner und kein polieren usw. bei dir nötig ist

Thanks for the English. Yes its noticeable for me, fretboard feels wide. Especially the first 20 minutes i play it my fingers are confused and i miss notes sometimes. Its weird how much those little millimeters make a difference. I am used to 42mm. Chords feel like i need to stretch my fingers more but those chords can come out cleaner indeed.

Puh, that's a tough one. Pretty similar guitars. I think the Harley Benton is the better bang for the buck. I prefer the bridge too. But if you can check the schecter in person and it feels right, go to for it. Like I said, they are pretty similar.

At this point I would be thankful for any color I haven't been able to buy my own guitar yet. And today you can get a nice electric guitar and amp for the same price as an acoustic. And I'm too much rock and metal for an acoustic. I didn't realize Harley bentins sounded so good. Your playing is amazing I had to sub.
Pity if you are a luthier who hardly can buy the wood for the money, but a good message to the "big" names... Go do you job well especially G*. I hardly use my G and F on stage anymore , Harley Benton is providing musicians with good stuff for peanuts
abs is a cheap plasic tho ptb is high end heavy dence plastic abs is the stuff that comes on cheap chinese products these nuts cost them like 15 cents while a nnu bone nut would cost them 50 cent

Exactly, Thats something i wanted to mention and then forgot. The volume knob never becomes in the way but its easy to reach

those pickups are really articulate for the price. you can definitley get away with not changing them

Ich habe bislang nur Bass gespielt (Long Scale), will aber auch mit Gitarre anfangen.
Würdest du sagen, dass die Gitarre für einen Anfänger(habe eher schlanke nicht wahnsinnig lange Finger) (mit evtl. Bünde schleifen nachpfeilen etc.) geeignet ist zum Üben und Spielen von verschiedenen Sounds?
Ja, total geeignet. Wenn du das Bünde schleifen nicht erwähnt hättest hätte ich eher nein gesagt, weil das für einen Anfänger ziemlich Frustrierend sein könnte. Ist natürlich durchaus möglich das ich Pech hatte bei meiner und kein polieren usw. bei dir nötig ist

Hello. Good video! I see that the neck of the Fretboard is 43mm, which I like when playing *Clean Chords* Is this difference noticeable? I'm used to ST fretboard and I would like something wider... I wanted to ask you if it is more comfortable... Regards.
Thanks for the English. Yes its noticeable for me, fretboard feels wide. Especially the first 20 minutes i play it my fingers are confused and i miss notes sometimes. Its weird how much those little millimeters make a difference. I am used to 42mm.
Chords feel like i need to stretch my fingers more but those chords can come out cleaner indeed.

Dear Cory - I'm on the fence - this guitar or Schecter C6 Deluxe? Please advice.
Puh, that's a tough one. Pretty similar guitars. I think the Harley Benton is the better bang for the buck. I prefer the bridge too.
But if you can check the schecter in person and it feels right, go to for it. Like I said, they are pretty similar.
@@CoryMura Thanx for the quick answer, I could buy them in similar price but both guitars I can overlook only online. Do you think quality wise there is much difference? I assume Schecter would be generally better built but maybe not? Hard choice really.
At this point I would be thankful for any color I haven't been able to buy my own guitar yet. And today you can get a nice electric guitar and amp for the same price as an acoustic. And I'm too much rock and metal for an acoustic. I didn't realize Harley bentins sounded so good. Your playing is amazing I had to sub.

This R-446 is hard to beat for all kinds of metal. Totally prefer this over the st-20 hh

ABS is just the fancy term for plastic, so it's just a very basic, cheap nut, that probably should be upgraded.
I feel stupid for not checking the term beforehand but i swear its hard AF.

abs is a cheap plasic tho ptb is high end heavy dence plastic abs is the stuff that comes on cheap chinese products these nuts cost them like 15 cents while a nnu bone nut would cost them 50 cent
