  • See www.dearmrgacy.com. Exclusive scene with William Forsythe as John Wayne Gacy. Here, Gacy is in prison chatting it up with one of the guards (Eric Keenleyside) as he calmly paints one of his famous clown portraits. Again, Forsythe creepily portrays Gacy as many say he really seemed in real life: friendly and approachable...

Forsythe captured Gacy spot on and if you grew up in 1978 and followed this case in Illinois, you can see why he was cast for this role. he's not playing the "Gacy" at the time of discovery of the 33 bodies. Forsythe has captured how Gacy was after being in prison for as many years as the aged Gacy which very much earns Forsythe this role. Gacy had dark hair and the moustache when he was caught. By this point, Gacy has a head full of grey hair, has gained more weight and has even more confidence in prison because of the corrupt guards. Gacy was into politics for many years and his attraction to young men derailed what he could have been which is why he knows how to talk a good game to befriend a young man, even the corruot guards. Forsythe more than researched Gacy very well to capture his aged mannerisms being in prison. Actually the other comments are correct in writing that Gacy really had a midwestern dullness about his way( which was why he was under the radar for so many years) and Forsythe highlighted "Gacy" to make him interesting to watch. Perfect casting decision.

Finally!! Forsythe in a role with meat on it. So underrated, this guy...gonna watch it right now and I hope/think this is a good one.And agree...I don´t need an actor to be a copy of the person he´s portraying. Sometimes the performance is so good it´s irrelevant. I

At first... I was not very happy about seeing William Forsythe as Gacy. He does not look like him or whatever. And I have been waiting for a good Gacy flick to come about with a good actor portraying Gacy. However, after watching the film, I found myself scared of who the real Gacy really was. I think Forsythe did a fantastic job on giving us a chilling portrayal of a man who was common but evil. The other movies made lack the energy that Forsythe brings. He showed us how evil he really was.

William Forsythe does not fit in too well as playing Gacy because his appearance his speech personality in this movie does not even come close to duplicating the real John Wayne Gacy.
