  • See www.dearmrgacy.com Jason Moss, an ambitious college honors student looking to get a jump start on a career in law enforcement, wrote to several serial killers, primarily John Wayne Gacy, who almost killed Jason. From the 1999 Hard Copy episode: "The moral of the story: Little boys shouldn't play with serial killers". Tragically, Jason took his own life on June 6, 2006...

Gacy had them paid off. He arranged Jason's airline flight to visit him in prison, and had a prison guard talk to Jason and his mother acting as the warden. This is fact, and if that's what we KNOW, imagine what we don't!

I just found out about that today. He also had the camera turned away so no one could see what was going on in the surveilence room. I also think there was more that happened. Very eerie that Jason killed himself on the morning of 6/6/06, too........

This man went to a visit 2 days in a row- the first day I think Was ok- I think it was the 2nd visit that haunted him he did not share w/ the world- IMO - Gacy s&x violated this young man & paid off all the players - warden -ceos- as we all know, death row inmate left in a room alone w/ “fanboy?” - that is exactly how Gacy perceived him, he had too much free time, too many connects still- to find out exactly who you are, and playing the role of interest of men sending it to Gacy? Come on- you do not go to travel to visit- to a prison. The inmate on death row is paying for flight ✈️ & room- 2 visits 2 days in a row? Oh Gacy really really had different plans… He wrote his book but I think something more Definitely happened in that steel prison room , camera 🎥 turned away for 2 hrs? I’m so shocked I just found out abt this a few days ago.

just read his book...pg 111...Gacy tells him "Jason, the Bible preaches against taking your own life, but sometimes it's the right thing to do. Your life will hit rock bottom someday, and when the time is right, you'll know what to do, and also how to do it." This blew my mind. Those words stayed with him...till he actually did it.

To me this is what makes Gacy the scariest out of the list of serial killers that comes to mind... I cannot confirm it as Jason's story is sort of unique, but to me Gacy's last victim was Jason himself! (ironically the title of his Thesis and the book that followed)
Like you said those words stayed with him for almost 12 years.... I cannot imagine what was going through his mind during that time.

I disagree, especially that he "was nothing like these serial killers". He was a LOT like them, especially Gacy. Extremely manipulative and cunning, narcissistic, complete disregard of ethics when they proved inconvenient (Sending pics of his female friends without their knowledge to Richard Ramirez? Using his little brother as bait for Gacy?!! ), lack of remorse. The main difference is that Moss had no compulsion to commit such heinous crimes.

Twisted teenager? Moss had an academic interest more than anything, and had an extremely difficult time stomaching much of what he learned about, both from the book and the killers themselves. What he did was incredibly gutsy, and wasn’t an act of admiration of these guys. I really respect Moss for doing what he did. Not twisted at all, quite the opposite.

We weren't friends or anything, but we had a class together (I think it was Psychology), and I remember him mostly because he once mentioned his correspondence with serial killers in prison. That was stuck in my mind. (Plus he was kind of cute lol). And I found it odd, but an interesting idea for a research paper. I just recently found out that he had sadly killed himself in 2006.
