All I can say is WHY? WHY is this necessary? Why don't the people at Microsoft understand that one of the reasons for clicking on the clock is the font on the corner clock is too small for old people to see. The old "WINDOWS 10" calendar clock would show time in a nice BIG font!. Now you need to jump through a hoop to see the time, and when they show you the time it's again in a very small font. I absolutely hate what Microsoft is doing to us. They don't want us to see what's in front of us. Text is no longer black, it's unreadable light gray, and now this. God save us from the developers at Microsoft. They're killing us slowly, and blinding us by make us strain our eyeballs.
Thank you so much, don't understand why they disabled the clock from the calendar it was a very useful feature, specially at night when waking up and not having my glasses; it was a quick way to check the time.
How the hell can Microsoft make a new OS that is worse than the previous one!!? How can a new OS be slower on the latest hardware when my old Windows 10 machine is faster on a much older laptop? And how can they remove such basic features for some half-baked fancy looking but buggy and slow UI!? Anyway, thank you for your tips. This is not a 100% perfect solution but given that Microsoft removed a proper clock that can also update time in real-time (for performance it seems, which is bullshit, as we have such powerful hardware that updating seconds in real-time will add absolutely no extra strain on the CPU), this is better than nothing!
Microsoft seem to be grandmasters of the ICT world at breaking basic functionality in their OS rather than adding to it and optimising what they already have in each generation.
Very helpful..Thank you so much but very upset that in windows 11, I can not see the real time in seconds with clock picture when I click date and time in the tray..why the heck Microsoft removed it
I know the feeling At this point it very much feels like MS software engineers break basic functionality with each 'new' version simply to have a reason to stay employed. I can't wait to see what they cocked up with Win12 🤦♂
Thanks. Nice workaround. It's silly that Microsoft removed the seconds and with this workaround it still doesn't refresh, but it's better than nothing to have an idea of the seconds...
Ok, but what you've done does not show an analog clock, like at 1:11 or (best!), at 1:15. So how can we get a left click on sys tray time/date that shows BOTH calendar and ANALOG CLOCK like at 1:15?
Yes that is a problem still in Windows 11. Lets hope that Microsoft solve these issues in the newest update which is about to be released (Windows 11 22H2)
@@TechForAll2019 No it is NOT solved in 22H2! Seems they had not time to fix it. They needed the time to think about how to make easy things complex, not intuitive, and more worse.
DO NOT change regional formats. Most apps that parsing time and date will crash, as local time format would be different from one set in system settings.
Thanks for this vidao and shame on MS! Which manager decided to remove the second AND not to update them when added? And for sure changing the "short time" is realy a workaround - but not a solution. Again: SHAME ON MS! More and more points to let me believe its time to move to Apple.
While I admit this is terrible on Microsoft's part, I don't think Apple is a better alternative if you want more control on your computer. I have a Macbook for work and trust me, Apple locks down their software even more than Microsoft is doing. And you need to run all kinds of terminal commands to modify various features. You have to run a terminal command just to show hidden files and folders in Finder! And Apple also does not show you a calendar, or multiple clocks by default. And there are no snap gestures built in. I had to install 3rd party software for many of these features that I took for granted on Windows. It is a shame that Microsoft is becoming more like Apple and removing useful features to make a more locked down Windows, just like how Apple locks down MacOS. But Apple is not the answer for this either, I am afraid.
I wouldn't go as far as saying move to Apple. If moving OS is on the cards I'd rather take the plunge towards a Linux distro these days with the vastly increased compatibility for Windows games they have gained in recent years. I feel like it wouldn't take a whole lot of work for a company to capitalise on Valve et al's work and MS's fcuk ups to get a Linux distro that is a great off the shelf experience like Android with Windows like UI design.
This is useful, but it's a shame it's not real time. I can't believe Microsoft removed this functionality after having it in place for decades :(
windows 11 calendar fucking stupid by default, jesus christ

It works, but I do not see the seconds changing while I stare at the clock
thanks, this win11 change was driving me mad

You're welcome!
legit my biggest beef with the system fixed like that lmao

headlines is really misleading.
That's a cool feature, but seems like seconds don't change like the way they do in Windows 10. Though sometimes I don't understand Microsoft.

This is good, BUT, how do you turn ON the calendar flyout if it isn't there when you click on the clock?
Exactly. Since I upgraded to Windows 11 the calendar, nor time flyout doesn't work. I was hoping this video would show how to fix this.
aw thank you, my eyes are not that great so this show it a little better
Thank you very much!
Thank you! 🙏👍
Why didn't you lead with "This won't produce dynamic time updates" when you began?
Gah!
Not like tracking the wives around the compound 🤌
