Can you explain why you took steps to “Expand Appearance”? What is the purpose?

When using the 'Expand Appearance' the objects selected will become individual shapes, strokes will be converted into shapes, text would also become shapes. From the word itself, the object selected will become a shape (expand) based on what it looks like (appearance)
