Us audience seem to have a proclivity for rooting for "underdogs" in certain scenarios but also almost often, way too often, root for the downfall of the kings that are in place.
It's not like the PH region is "arguably" the best region in terms of team performance, they're literally the strongest region macro and micro wise. And they're far ahead of everyone. If you compare games from "top" NACT teams from PH, the nuances of the game's mechanics, you'll be surprised.

For those who are siding with MPL PH, they did the same thing to our fellow Filipino, OhmyV33nus. Veenus is also a victim of what happened to fwydchicken where she got misquoted by MPL PH.
Mara is the type of girlfriend who would cheat on you and expect you to apologize to her for not treating her right. She needs to get canceled.
