In the Army,they teach us a whole differant way to handle that situation.We train on at least on 10 different technics just for inside the car defense,and offense alone.Great video,and great job.Well done!Airborne Out!

1) Why is your window open, if your #1 concern is self-awareness and safety?; 2) Your seatbelt will prevent a lot of that motion; 3) people carjacking have done armed robberies before, they don't get right up on you; 4) have him use a 'paintball' gun [with you wearing a helmet, & body armor], so he can fire the paintball gun if you make any sudden moves; *THAT* would give people a realistic idea. The paint doesn't lie.

Excellent stuff! I however recommend not attempting to fire a criminals' gun as it may be unclean, jammed etc... and backfire on you. Crack him in the face with it. Thanks for this info! It will aid me in my instruction.

We don't practise Krav because we want to implement the moves, we practise so if ever faced with such a situation, we stand a damn good change of surviving.

Sorry but this is ridiculous. If the car jacker knows what he's doing, he will not get within striking distance. Only realistic defense in this situation is already having your own gun pointing at the attacker before he can point it at you. Or slamming the throttle. Also, it's supposed that you have the window down, which is unsafe, to be able to defend yourself.
how about defence from someone reaching through the window and grabbing your key from the egnition, then surrounding your car with their gang.
Wrap his arms in the seat belt before getting that far ..if from driver's side and manuver car as best you can to get away. This scenario is dependent on many factors. I'm a big guy in a pickup so he's gonna have a hard time getting my key out

what do you do if the window is a little down and they hold the gun in the crack ... or you discover the gun didn't have ammo... drive away ? run red light? I got robbed by a homeless guy that had a small hand gun and it keeps playing over and over in my head.. like I didn't know what to do.. I just threw the money out the window and then sped away as he went to pick it up.. was only like 20 dollars but still.. made me mad
what about addressing the shock factor as a gun is being pointed at my face which delays if not cancel out what I've been taught?
Rose J it's called reflexes. That's why you do the drill over and over again. Till it becomes instinct. Ever heard of muscle memory?
Normally nobody is gonna keep a gun that close to your head. They're gonna move his weapon around and stay away from the window. When an attacker is putting his weapon that close to you, they don't know what they're doing... Besides that, your car is not worth your life. One little mistake and you will die. You don't know if the attacker is stoned or a psycho, you don't know how they're gonna react and respond to your movement. If they want your car, just give them a car... I don't mean to offend enyone. Its just my modest point of view. Have a good day everyone ;-)

I don't buy it bud, I think if you go for that forward motion with your hand then you are going to get shot. Best option is to feign compliance and look for another opportunity to save your vehicle or just cooperate. Also, that was an elaborate disarm, too much for me to want to attempt in a real life situation.

I don't think engaging in hand to hand combat and risking being shot in the head is worth it when it comes to property. Seriously, if they have a gun pointed to your head like that give them the car. That's why you have insurance. It's a different thing to suggest fighting if they are attacking you physically or are a sexual predictor. If they are just after the property let it go and live to see another day.
