although PS1 holds a special place in my heart, PS2 is my favorite of the phantasy stars. I hear this song and I think of the grinding i did to make my team stronger

This was the first RPG I ever competed. I was 7 years old. Took me forever but I finally figured it out. Probably one of the toughest RPGs of all time. Love the remix man, thank you for making it.

How the HELL did you get past the maze part at 7. This is still one of the hardest RPG's I've ever played haha
Jeramie James I had the little booklet that came with the game that had all the maps. I tried my best to not use it but I used it for the maze and one of the dams. So yeah, that's how. XD
You must be some kind of genius. I manged to get past green dam somehow but I think I was 10 or 11.

I really like the part at 1:24 when the sound stops being quite so busy and it plays a protracted rendition of the opening bars. I keep playing that part over and over.

This is an absolutely outstanding remix, and I think it would be more than worthy of appearing in a remake of Phantasy Star II. It's very faithful to the feel of the original track without just feeling like a retread with new instruments, and the extra bits you added greatly enhance what was, as much as I love it, a fairly short loop in the original game (less than a minute long, I think!).
I particularly love the section starting at 0:49 where you play with the melody that transitions back into the opening bars in the game version, and follow it up with a key changed rendition of those opening bars before looping back around. I think it adds so much to the original tune, and since first listening to this a couple of years back, I can't think back on Rise or Fall without inserting that extra part into the track in my head.

And yeah the original is less than a minute long. A friend had a birthday and I asked which VGM he'd like to hear remixed, and he said something like "rise or fall would be great, but it's unfortunately too short for remixing". Challenge accepted! :)

If you didn't have the maps for this game back in the day you either lost out on cool items or you got lost for hours LOL.
I used the map for 2 and yes was a life saver. Even for 3 but that was a shit show with the maps lol.

On the byproductmusic.net site it's just a direct link to the full file, so it should work. There's no plugins or anything else that should make it problematic. But try getting it from my SoundCloud, it's also available there!
