@@Miss.RubyGameOnly because of Melrose Place. Luke was furious that the writers and the producers started to combine storylines and he asked a drama story exclusively for their show. This is how the triangle was created. It was just temporary and that's why in season 4, Luke and Shannen had so many scenes together. Because Dylan and Brenda were going to be reunited again.
@@truelies2667I wish they were actually reunited together in the end. It’s so bad it never happened. It was such a bad ending for the best couple. They were making this show. All the seasons without them together were just a waste of time
Yes true.... they just never fit... and Dylan was always like he hated all this girliegirls or this fashionvictim californiagirls... and then? I disliked him from that moment he chose kelly
This needed way more brenda and dylan!! He and kelly never had the intensity that he and brenda did. They didn't even compare. But toni's death?... damn near killed me.
It could be arguably stated, that Luke just might be one of the most underrated geniuses in acting that there ever was. Wish he could have gone for the movie elites, and thrown his hat into the bigtime. RIP Luke.
I can't say that I miss Luke as I didn't know him. But I can honestly say that as a woman in my 40's that loved 90210, my teenage heart broke knowing that Dylan McKay is gone. That's who I knew. I am sure Luke was a dear, sweet man. I'm sure if I knew him, I'd miss him, too. RIP to Luke and my beloved Dylan McKay.
Dylan and Brenda will always have my ❤️ but I also loved him with Toni and her death nearly rips my heart out every time I watch it. The one line I can never forget is Dylan screaming Brandon as he pulls Toni out of the car
I believe the true love of Dylan’s life was Brandon. Everything bad that happen to Dylan, Brandon was right beside him helping him and guiding him through. They had a true bromance and were true friends. They were brothers on and off the screen ❤️❤️❤️
From the start until the end. I wish they never put Kelly with Brandon for a moment there. It didn't seem right. But they were best mate's off screen as well.
Best scene is on that same episode, When Luke as Dylan says tells Brandon (Jason) you're the best friend I ever had. I don't know if it was scripted because Jason almost breaks, like Luke's leaving the show.
His father's death scene still brings me to tears. Yeah, I know it turns out he (spoiler alert) wasn't really dead, but Dylan's reaction, and Luke Perry's acting in the car explosion scene, was tough to watch. He and his father finally start growing close again, just for that to happen. So gut-wrenching.
Me too. Some days I still cannot believe he is gone 😞 Especially this reboot coming now. It's wonderful but it's not complete in my mind and heart...luke is missing...people say he most likely was not gonna be part of it anyway BUT there is huge difference not being able to do it cause you have other tv show or not be able to do it cause you are not here anymore... RIP sweet man 💔💔
Dylan had to choose between Kelly and Brenda and then Kelly has to choose between Dylan and Brandon... I feel for the Walsh twins. They both got the shit end of that
I can't believe choosing Kelly made an honorable mention, considering the fact that seconds later Brenda's absence affected his choice at least at some degree (in my opinion that was the only reason he chose her, only imagine how the evening would have played out if Brenda managed to attend Jack's party).
No matter who you shipped him with or which of his storylines you liked, Dylan McKay was a memorable character and Luke Perry brought a vulnerability and an intensity to the role. He will live on forever through his work and those who knew him and loved him. RIP Luke.

90210 was The Best Show geared towards teens in The 90’s. It was also the first show to discuss serious teen issues in the story lines. My friends and I never missed an episode and it was always the topic of discussion at lunch the next day. It’s so hard to believe it premiered nearly 30 years ago. The Mojo was absolutely right on the number one Dylan storyline. RIP Luke Perry.
Very very great list I like it a lot I miss Luke Perry a lot he is one of my very favorite things that made Beverly hills 90210 one of the very best tv shows ever
nice that you made the mention of 'Losing my religion' by REM during that break up scene (it also is played a lot during the scene when Brenda officially lost Dylan to kelly)..........ahhh the good days of this show and its' featured music......NOW go ahead watch those episodes on DVD or Netflix (or other streaming places)....they cut the song out in the episode where Brenda is hurting over her loss, even where she explains to Brandon why she keeps playing the song over and over, giving the song title...nope not there now...gone!...and with all the other songs the show featured as it perfectly went hand in hand with the storyline and defining time of the early 90's great songs.......they are now dubbed over with stupid songs....completely taking away so much of the scenes and story. I am fortunate to have season 1-5 on VHS and i can still see it in its original content....i feel badly that younger generations ever giving the show a chance, will not experience it the way it was incorporated with the music (another good example is Davids friend Scott shoots himself, and David breaks down over it, "knocking on heavens door" by GnR plays in the most perfect way to so intensify that scene). I understand that songs get filtered out of shows and movies after a time period, something to with copywrites, royalties --blah blah.........but i cant say in words how unbelievably crushing it is to watch the show in its format of today.
Quoted from Wikipedia: Additionally, Luke Perry had auditioned for the role of Steve Sanders, but the role eventually went to Ian Ziering before Perry was cast as Dylan McKay. Perry's character was not an original cast member of the show, and he was first featured in the show's second episode. He was originally intended to only appear in one story arc, for one or two episodes. Fox was initially reluctant to have him included as a regular, but Aaron Spelling felt differently and gave Perry a bigger role during the first two years until the network was won over.

One big omission from this list... Dylan and Kelly on the beach at night with the shooting star and the song "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" by Sophie B. Hawkins. It's an awesome scene, and a great beginning to the Dylan/Kelly relationship.
