Made this recently. Works well leaves my skin glowing and hydrated. I would recommend 1T of Turmeric, it stains really bad ! Even after showering it stained my bras and bed sheets.
Agree with you on this one. Wish I listened to your advice. I used 2 tablespoons of organic turmeric and it stains badly. I have to use it first thing in the shower then wash my face and body ASAP to remove the stains
@@LS-xu7cv I made it for the first time on Sunday, followed ingredients to a T and hatedddd the stains... my white floral print shower cap was destroyed lol .... It also stained my face, ears and neck when I used it as a facial scrub. Which was surprising because I am dark skinned. this morning, I tried to fix things. I tried to follow her advice to add some milk to curb staining. I didn’t want to use cow’s milk so I used some coconut milk .... that Didn’t work. It still stained badly and even worse, it turned into a cream (was no longer a scrub). I used very little coconut milk too. So I redid it all over again this evening with 1 teaspoon of turmeric and several drops of lemon essential oil (instead of lemon juice). Also used absolutely no milk or milk-like ingredients.
I just tried this scrub tonight and my skin feels really soft and moisturized. It even looks brighter somehow. Maybe it’s all in my mind 🤷🏾♀️🤔 but I’m going to keep using it 2-3 times a week and see what it yields. But for my first use, I’m very pleased 👍🏾
Hey ladies. So I was using this for a week or so and I really didn’t see much of a difference to my skin outside of the first day. Maybe I should’ve tried it for longer....? 🤔🤷🏾♀️ I’ve since switched to a turmeric and buttermilk mask that I have found makes my skin very soft, smooth and bright though. Equal parts turmeric to buttermilk. Leave it on for 20 minutes, wash off with a warm wash cloth and moisturize. Be careful with which washcloth you use because the turmeric does stain. I’ve been doing this every other day for about 2 weeks and I think I’m going to stick with this method.
I just made a batch I started tonight I’m going to rock with it for two weeks and see if my strawberry legs improve too. My skin feels extra smooth, soft, and has brighten a little from my first use. Remind me to update y’all!! Day three: my skin feels extra soft all day!!! I put a little extra oil in my batch which may explain that. The worst part is the staining in my shower. I’m not currently using it on my face because I like to see how things react on my body first but maybe tonight I’ll use it on my face. One week update: my skin is the softest it’s ever been. My tone has brightened a lot!! My best friend uses this now and she loves it. Again the worst part is the staining. Two weeks update: Strawberry legs has DEFINITELY improved!! My skin is soft all day and has brightened up. Another tip: as soon as you step out the shower use baby gel immediately before you dry off. Then pat dry to seal in the moisture! Thank me later! Thank you for this video I will definitely continue to use this diy. GOOD DAY EVERYONE ☀️☀️ STAY HEALTHY
I am glad I found your video. You get straight to the point ... I don't have time to listen to people rambling on about their life before giving a recipe ...those videos shouldn't be at the top of RUclips search engine results. I subscribed, liked, and comment to trigger the RUclips algorithm because your video deserves to be on the top when searching for a DIY Tumeric scrub recipe.
I just made my Tumeric scrub. I used tumeric,Avocadol oil,Olive oil,Lemon juice, peroxide, bakingsoda and sugar. They all do a great job at lightening dark spots so i combined it into an effective product. I loved your video btw❤Helped inspired me to make my own just now
@@shawnamarie9316 It worked pretty good,it's been making it clean and moisturize and soft, also lighten it up too but my thing is I need to also use tumeric soap not just the scrub and give it more time for me because I have dark dark pigmentation from childhood and hurting my knees a lot
@@laritatornes734 Half a cup of tumeric powder,1/3rd teaspoon of avocado oil and olive oil.1/3rd teaspoon of lemon juice 100%,Half teaspoon of peroxide, baking soda and sugar then mix really good and add 2 cap fulls of hydrogen peroxide 3%.
I live tumeric. I used it in my white egg face wash and also take tumeric supplements. I'm going to give this scrub a try. Warning: tumeric can stain so use wisely
Hey what's the best way to store it? Fridge, cool dry place, can be bathroom cabinet because moisture from taking a shower won't affect its quality, etc?
Well explained video! Most of us don’t give that much importance while choosing the right turmeric. If we want good health, we must go for pure ingredients. I tried Yellowraw premium turmeric from Nature’s Box. It passes the test too. Try and see.
Stained my shower and my white towels lol. I used it for the first time and I already see a difference on my armpits and face. I hope the stain comes out my towel in the washer though. I’m gonna wear a long sleeve pants and shirt just in case there’s still some left on my body. For my second use I’ll probably just stick to armpits, face, and bikini area to avoid staining all my stuff lol.
You can use lime juice instead of lemon juice. I guess juices in sugar scrubs spoil faster when they’re outside of the fridge. but if you limit the scrub’s exposure to water then I think you’ll be fine
Yes you can use coconut oil. You don’t have to refrigerate. As long as you store it in a air tight container and make sure you keep water out it’ll last you at least 2+ months. Wait a couple days after your wax!
Hi...am only watching this in 2022...how do I use this scrub on my skin without staining my nails...Or what can I include in my formula to prevent my nails from getting stained by the tumeric powder?
I massage in circular motions for about 30 seconds to a minute. Brown sugar is good, just less abrasive than granulated. I have dark spots in my face that I started to see lighten after 5 days.
I haven't had issues with orange skin but be careful with your nails. As the person stated above you can definitely use less turmeric or try wild turmeric which is known to be less likely to stain.
I m not a subscriber but I just view ur channel when I browsing let me give u suggestions if u mind. If you are making scrub if you used brown sugar it will be more effective.
