Why do you love dancing the foxtrot?
I love that smooth, gliding action of the foxtrot.Yummy!
Keenly, very keenly so, I love the Weave Actions especially because I love the continuity advanced steps in Slow Fox. I can even "overturn" such weaves in Open Style competition, which I love so much in the Foxtrot.
In American Foxtrot, I love doing those grapevines - this is what Fred Astaire would have loved so much.
The Reverse Weave and Natural Weave are my favorite slow-fox figures.
The smooth and elegance of the rise and falls is so artistic and a sheer delight to watch
Running feather is my favorite foxtrot figure steps.. for your reference and thanks
Awsome clear instruction, my partner and I have recently started to learn the Slow Foxtrot and this has helped immensely, thanks!
Simple and clear explanation , gorgeously fashioned demonstration. Thanks
I'm 88 years old & still very active due to taking care of myself' I started dancing in Manchester UK in 1946' I lost my dancing partner of 54 years in 2015' but I still love to dance when I can' I would like to compliment you & your lovely partner on your wonderful dance instruction' you are one of the first I have seen who teach the introduction on to the floor correctly' it's how I was taught when I was 12 years old' one teacher I will not mention by name ' nice dancers but often teaches gentleman to lead with RF' but you are beautiful dances.
Your have carried on your father's wonderful knowledge of dancing. He must be so proud of you.
You dance the Slow Foxtrot beautifully, thank you . Please Can you show us how to do the Four Winds Foxtrot. If it's not too much please call out the figures as well.
Hi Olga! I appreciate the lovely words however the only dancing my did was to woo the Ladies at the local pub when he was in his youth haha. I'm the first professional dancer in our family line :)
why are there so many quick quick slows like in waltz but for basic foxtrot classes they keep giving the slow slow, quick quick?
Yes, I agreed.
I really enjoy your tutorials. Thank you.
Colette thank you! Glad you enjoy them
Beautiful sequence! Just noting though: The first time you time it (at 2.16) you miss an extra Slow for the swivel, and you also miss a QQS at the end. This is when I compare it with your timing at (4.01). Gosh, isn't the timing for Slow foxtrot tricky?! Thanks for a great demo.
Pam Mazoyer hi Pam!
There are two versions here both are different.
At 2:16 there is no swivel at all as it’s the Basic version, and QQS doesn’t exist at all and is incorrect timing for a Natural turn (heel pull ending) it’s SSS.
At 4:01 it’s the Advanced version so completely different steps.
All steps and figure in accordance with The Ballroom Technique by Alex Moore.
Thank you for writing in and hope it helps
@@BallroomMasteryTV Thanks for explaining that! I should have realised...
Pam Mazoyer it’s not a worry! It’s why we are here
3:35 figure name
4:05 timing for advanced routine
Hi Vaughan - in the advanced version, after the cross-swivel you do another feather step - what direction are you facing? Are you diagonal to centre? i.e. after the cross-swivel you do a quarter turn? Thanks!
Excellent !! Can you please provide me with the artist/title of music you use for both the Basic and Advanced? The provided information can't be found on Spotify Premium? Ideas? Thanks so much...
Sure! I have updated in the Description for the Advanced foxtrot. The basic is Blackpool dance music. Search for Empress Orchestra and Blackpool Dance Festival as its off a very old CD.
Excellent!

NHANH... NHAMH.... CHẬM!!!
You seem to be dancing to different than the soundtrack. You feet are never in time to the music.
This has long puzzled me too. The basic "slow, slow, quick, quick," in time to the music, is so often missing from so very many dancers that I see, and is replaced by a very free style that does seem at odds with the music. Yet this free style seems quite popular. I would welcome an explanation! Are these two very different "foxtrots"? Do they have names? When would one choose the one or the other?
