If you want to use the option plug behind cowling for both the Honda OEM 12V output connector AND your GPS consider to use this splitter. Also handy if you want to connect two items to the the options plug under seat: www.ebay.com/i...
The Rally Raid is more adaptable and costs less. Nice tip Sven.
You are the best. Thank you, Sven. 🇩🇰🇳🇴
Takk :-)
Hello, Sven. I want to install similar navigation to the same bike tomorrow and a little bit scared :) Is it difficult open the meter panel area to put the navigation power wire inside the front panel?
It is not difficult just be careful. I hav a video showing the procedure: ruclips.net/video/jIoI7PXsNiM/видео.html
@@thetubelesschannel thank you, mate! Installation was completed. Now I can going to my spring Hokkaido trip. 🙂
Hi Sven, Really enjoying all the videos..very good quality..not sure if I missed it but could you let me know how you made the electrical connection allowing the unit to start from the ignition...Are special connectors required and which of the motorcycle connections was used...Thanks
I connected to the option plug on the left side, same connector as goes to the 12V power output. The option plug delivers switched power. To connect I bought a splitter from eBay so I could connect both the 12V output and the cable to GPS. www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-POWER-SPLITTER-SET-CB500X-F-R-CB650F-Accessory-Port-Options-Plug-/282971670310
@@thetubelesschannel Hi Sven,
Many thanks for the help and looking forward to more videos..
Andy
Isn't the rally raid adapter made for the tenere? It has a 12 mm accessory bar diameter. The cb500x is 22 mm. Does it fit okay or am I missing something?
My 2019 CB500X has a12 mm accessory bar
I have a 2017 TomTom with a mount that I have on my T120. When I tried to purchase another mount adaptor for my CB500X I was told TomTom no longer make them as the design of the points has changed, in just 3 years. I have a car adaptor that I can use and I have a socket on the dash, but no mount. So it will have to sit on a tank bag. I’m wondering about one of those X mounts that bikers use for their mobile telephones with sat nav. Your Garmin looks good. Thank you.

Mycket bra, Sven!
Takk :-)
Couldn’t you have used the auxiliary socket rather than take all the cowling off.?
Your vid was very helpful.
I did use the auxiliary socket (option socket) under the left cowling. It may be possible to connect if you know exactly where it is hidden and you have small fingers.
Here in Brazil, this model of CB-500x was released as a 2020 model... here, everything comes late... 😕
Any snow yet Sven ?
Paul Bissonnette yes one day so far 😊👍
@@thetubelesschannel oh shit , well not too bad. I live in the Northeastern United States and we have had very little snow and it melts within 48 hours. I have been riding all winter. It won't be long before regular riding season . I never winterized my bike this year as I saw the trend was warm. Averaging 45° F. Keep up the great videos !
@@14moldyhamsandwich Thanks, just same as here :-)
Any tips for the 2018 model?
I thinks there is available a third party accessory bar, then it should be equal.
Sven Olsen I have been looking at those, both on sites like wish and ebay. Is it worth to get a more expensive one or no? Thanks for your time btw
@@WTF1wr1ownage I have no experience with them sorry. But look at the dimension of the bar, it should be about 12 mm.
With the Palmer Windshield Adaptar kit you have get the GPS bar higher and in a more front forward place
