It has been 38 years since Live Aid, it feels like just yesterday. As long as Brian and Roger still perform the songs of Queen, you all will keep the legend alive. Can't believe Freddie has been gone this long. I'm 62 years old and each time I hear your songs I feel like a teenager. Love you darlings. ❤🎧🎹🎸🎶🎤👑
They say about Kennedy... I wasn't even a Queen fan, but I can still remember exactly where I was when they announced Freddie's passing - sat in my car at Carnforth services going North on the M6 during the '91 RAC Rally.

Not seen this before. An amazing snapshot of the build up to the biggie and all looking and sounding like they were having fun again. On the day they left everybody else laying in their wake and Freddie had Wembley Stadium and those watching at home in the palm of his hands for 20 minutes. Queen showed the world how it was done. Well, that was fun to see, and Brian that is one exceptional pair of legs you have there, if I may say so... but, TBH, I've been thinking more about it being the 50 year anniversary of Queen's first album release.
It means a lot to me, because I happened to meet Freddie, Roger and Mary at the Ken Market exactly 2 weeks before that, and they were so excited, celebrating the news they'd got that morning that the album was finally all ready to go, after so many setbacks. I also saw the original artwork for the Queen Crest (which I tried, unsuccessfully, to buy!), pinned to the wall after it had come back from being applied to Roger's bass drum, and got to read Freddie's art school thesis on Jimi Hendrix and the counter-culture movement of the late 1960s, which I found very interesting and strangely touching, though I didn't know who the author - some Bulsara fellow - was! Bumped into F again later that afternoon and we had another little chat. Precious memories! :-)

I remember Live Aid as it was yesterday. It was the first time they had a big outdoor TV screen in our little town. I came mainly to watch Dire Straits and went home as a huge Queenfan wich I´v remained thru the years. Best group ever in music history :) xx
Thank you for posting this Sir Brian. 1985 seems like yesterday and there is still so much deserved love for your efforts that day at Wembley. There will never be another electric set like that performed ever again in my lifetime. Still a sublime 20 minutes that I still revisit regularly. Take care.

The music of Queen never dates, it is as fresh and relevant today as it was all those years ago, and there is another generation becoming faithful fans. Was never especially a Queen fan, so not blowing smoke, here, but I remember the day like it was yesterday and I have to say, I don't think I've ever heard a Tele sound better than the solo in Crazy Little Thing at that performance... a guy who's not 'my hero', playing a guitar he's not known for... Sir, I can't give you higher praise than that.

Freddie was on point with the band and able to interact particularly with Roger and Brian, and always ended songs with a flourish of boxing motions, lol particularly the 'knock out' 👊 punch.

Great rehearsal for a great show. I supposed it was due to the strict time limitations, but I always regretted that the section of the solo that shifts to B in Hammer To Fall was cut. But still a great performance.

What I love is how they were so worried that this was not a Queen audience and that most tickets were sold before they joined but as soon as Freddie played the first notes of BoRhap the entire crowd recognized it and sang along and Freddie grinned back-all worry gone!😂

Oh it has, many times. You‘ve just been unlucky. Both the interview and the rehearsal. In fact I think there‘s a longer video of the rehearsal floating around, but I could be wrong. Watched live in my tatty student digs on a little black and white portable 😊. Very hot day.
