New cables arrived around noon, kimber carbon with screw locking wbt bananas. The colour indicators are on the screw portion. In transportation they came off. When the cables were swapped and the screw in portion was put back in, an error was made and phase was reversed. The pc was located on the side of the room so the presenter unfortunately didn’t notice the new issue for a couple hours. Appreciate you taking the time to re visit the room.
I am so glad we got to be here for this ... and I am honoured to have shared these moments with you all weekend. Looking forward to our next 'round about =) Thank you, sir !
That's more like it. As I heard in Toronto, I think PS Audio makes a very good but unremarkable speaker. I think they will make many people happy. I'd like to hear them on a good tube amp. I just miss the air and holographic presentation. I think it may be the electronics that are holding them back.
Jason. You have heard the FR10s and the Borresen X2s. Both are around the same price. How do they compare? I would love to see a shoot out of those 2 with the same recordings and electronics.
Tough to say at this point. Because you're buying direct, PS Audio has a high value equation. However, the Borresen guys have done speakers much longer. Lots of other competition too in that area. I would currently pick the one with better full range potential in my room... With the Bacch, you sweat certain things with speakers less.
Curiously, the moment you said "I can already hear that's better", I was thinking the opposite - still the same occupied capacity. That said, it's nothing that can be transported well across RUclips.
No it was obvious the minute the bass kicked in live in person, but that's why you can't really judge things by what you hear on RUclips... Especially in the bass.
Yeah it was a cabling issue where certain things were wired out of phase. I offered to let them explain the details on video, but it really doesn't matter the particulars other than it wasn't the typical issue of swapping positive and negative terminals. Apparently some things were mislabeled on the cables/jumpers such that it made this a little more complicated to diagnose visually looking at the cables.
According to Paul himself, the dealer was continually switching speakers, so they switched to speaker cables with banana connectors. When doing switching, ends of the cables came apart on one of the speakers, and when they put them back on, they had switched red & black. So one could not look at the cable and see what was wrong. But the dealer figured it out and corrected it.
Someone messed up big time and it’s going to one person and that’s Paul should’ve been there at the final set up and he would’ve heard it. This is his fault no one else’s he should’ve had a checklist and he personally should’ve heard that before the doors open the following the morning no excuses mistake Paul will never do that again, hope you learn your lesson
Incorrect. Say what you want or think ..but it's not accurate at all. Only the people in that room know all the details .. and if you were not .. - nothing you say really matters. =) Paul WAS there .. and the team worked on it as fast as possible right up until the doors open. ... There is only so much time when rushed.. Every room has issues. It was a complete oversight .. no one had much indication how or why it was causing issues.. Some ROOMS do this to sound stage based on dimensions and surfaces .. but YOU'D know that if you were there .. or open-minded enough to think about acoustics .. instead of jumping to blame or pointing fingers safely from your home. =) Come to a show .. I'd love to hear your opinion in person some day.
Lol...u may not be able to notice on whatever you're using to listen, but it was night and day different live. Lots of people requested a return and video similar to all the other rooms I featured with the wiring now correct. I offered for them to discuss the details of what got fixed, but they didn't think it was necessary and I agree... The bottom line is this video is more representative of the gear set-up properly, but you can only tell so much from a recording.
Tool was played, people complained. Audioslave, people complained, jazz in the pawn shop people complained, didn’t play Diana krall and people complained. 🤷🏼♂
Much better and kudos to yourself for going back and rechecking
Htf can you tell whatsoever on YT anyway though!?
Nice follow-up Jason - thanks. And it sounds very good!

Thanks for the details. I knew it wasn't the gear inherently.
Great 👍 thanks 🙏 I KNEW THEY WILL FIXED ✅
FR10 starting to show its potential despite the compressed sound from RUclips... 👍
Sounds Great...

Thank you, sir !
She’s a Rainbow is such a great song in my favorite Stones era.
Now you’re talking!😊
Even at my computer, it sounds completely different. A "fullness" that wasn't there before.
Sounds much better. Shit happens.
Better 😊

Wonder what did they do to fix the issue...
It was a cabling issue with certain things hooked up out of phase.
You can hear that bass is now almost overwhelming...
It lacks under ~40 hz, but its a big room
What song is that (the first one with the guitar)?
Boz scaggs thanks to you
All i gotta say is thanks to you. 😂
You win comment of the day 😁
lol I just got the joke. Had to read it twice 😂

@@AudiophileJunkie the joys of audio🤦🏻 it can happen to anyone at least they managed to find and fix the problem. thanks for the reply 👍

@@AudiophileJunkie Whoa.. I thought out of phase just means + and - terminals of speakers wired incorrectly...
@@nightdrive2646 FR10 was the only speaker that was going to be used. Distributor wasn’t swapping anything, that wasn’t the issue.

I don't want to be dramatic but man, chill out. It's a pair of speakers that were set-up wrong at a show. No one was hurt.
This type of comment is exactly what is wrong with social media. People making comments (and judgements) without any knowledge of a situation.

That had to be the worst second demo ever! Here let me put you too sleep to demonstrate that the system has been fixed?🤔🤯🥴

Boz Skaggs is an absolute classic and an excellent demo track
@@AudiophileJunkie I mean play that Ratchet! That is a test song!🤔🤫😉😇😜 Not a mellow Gregory Porter song.😋
