    1. Larian released 3 patches till now. each of them fixing 1000 bugs and performance issues... I don't say that to hightlight how bugged this game were on release but how much work they put to fix every single detail in every scenario that ppl come up with.
    2. the more time you spend in the game and build managment the easier BG3 becomes... If you have 200h you can smash this game on highest difficulty.
    3. you need to know if you will be able to spend a lot of time in the game, cause it's good and time consuming

    I quickly understood that Act 3 would need more work to become really good, and that is why I have totally focused my time earlier in the game, and not stressing about getting to Act 3.
    I have made loads of characters and played them in all sorts of different ways and it is amazing how deep this game is.
    The Dark Urge is almost to deep for me.
    It can be so extremely dark that I have felt very uncomfortable at times.
    I have already played about 350 hours and I am still in Act 1.
    I see no reasons at all for stressing to get to the end of this game.
    And I am sure Act 3 will be amazing as well the day I get there.

      I'm in the same boat with Act 3. I finished it on one character because I just needed to see the end, but I have half a dozen other characters that I'm having fun just meandering my way through Act 1 and 2 with, because I just love the world so much. The performance issues in Act 3 were really grating, so I'm waiting for it to get spruced up before I tackle it on any of my other characters.

    Another thing about Dark Urge, you aren't locked to being a Dragonborn. You can customize the race to whatever you want much like a custom character. You just cannot switch the background of the Dark Urge. Race, class, abilities, proficiencies, etc can be customized.

    Part of the lack of Act 3 reactivity was due to bugs not triggering certain scenes etc. they've also improved the performance. I think the game deserves a second review in about 6 months.
    It would be great if it were optimised and polished to perfection at launch. But, well, I think they had to release it sometimes. Maybe there were money problems.

    The way your decisions influence a playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 is impressive. Everyone can die, even "essential" characters. And the death of certain characters will influence your quests, options and dialogue later on in the game.
    Also, there are a lot of different endings to this game. For example, it is actually possible to complete the game in act 2, and skip act 3 entirely...

    Just so people know how big bg3 is, act 1-2 took me 65 hours to finally reach act 3 and I explored everything- or so I thought. And so to my suprise, I still "missed" out on content - found out that there is a fish cove/quest in the underdark through a hidden passage that I missed out on. Oh and goes without saying, by making certain decisions I missed out on content that is locked on diffrent choices. You wont get a game this huge unless you play DQ11, Persona 5, Witcher 3 etc. And to be fair to BG3... if it wasnt named "act 1,2 and 3" you could make the same argument that game, x, y and z is weaker towards the end. games tends to be worse towards the end when they wrap things up. My point is, people would have judged it as a big package like persona 5 or dq 11 yet they are WAY worse towards the end- reskinned enemies, re-using dungeons etc probably because of development time running out.

    Level cap is there for a reason. Spells turn less into damage and more into breaking reality.
    The spells and feats in this game are already simplified compared to the dnd game.
    There are feats in dnd that aren’t in the game because it would be redundant. Like knowing where north is.
    Spells like resurrection would just destroy the game as you are resurrecting dead npcs.

    May contain minor spoilers but I’m going to keep it as vague as possible:
    I’m playing dark urge and have been having a hard time being an evil character because I feel bad killing the NPCs. Well I decided to just do it and killed an important character and immediately my party was upset with me and following that I had to face the consequences of my actions which got a TON of people killed. Your actions 100% do matter and I love that! (This happened in act 2 I’m still playing through act 3)

    • @TroySturdy
      @TroySturdy  Год назад

      They sure do! My next playthrough I want go Dark Urge, I hear it's a ton of fun and wild. Even being a somewhat good character there were decisions I made or even FAILED to make that got a ton of characters killed. So much replayability it's great.

    • @dianabialaskahansen2972

      As a dark urge you do not really have to embrace the urges, but instead can struggle against them. I think Alfira might be the only murder you cannot avoid as Durge. While my evil run was okay, it honestly felt far more rewarding when I did the playthrough as the Durge who had this inner conflict, always trying to do right, when it was against her nature. And it leads to a quite amazing scene in Act 3.

    Actually disagree with alot of this. I think people look past the couple of very unique things that BG3 does that no other crpg has done. Blending a "Sony style" cinematic story telling with a crpg. The two seperate aspects, CRPG and cinematic story have been done to death. But there is not to my knowledge any game on the market that combined the two. Its a little insane really when you think about the massive amount of extra work this meant. The other unique thing is how your choices are fleshed out. Even Divinity: Original Sin 2 didn't take things as far as this game does. I have friends who played and didn't see half of what I did, and I in turn didn't see some of what they did. Despite spending about 160 hours on the first playthrough.
    The last thing I strongly disagree with is about Act 3. I think Act 3 is the strongest Act if you take the technical issues out. Most of the best parts of the game occur in Act 3. But because of the extreme non linear nature of Act 3 I suspect people are getting to Act 3 and are burnt out so they are skipping whole amazing pieces. Act 3 is bigger than both 1 and 2 combined I am fairly sure, even with the stuff they clearly cut to finally get the game out the door. There are some story elements of Act 3 that stumble a bit, some because of bugs (some things are still not triggering right according to Larian). I know they wanted the city to feel like it was a real single massive city, but considering that the upper city wasn't really done, I think the game would have been much better served if they had split the city up into zones, allowing for better performance and less code conflict. I don't know the state of Act 3 at launch, I heard it was pretty rough, but I know that by the time I got there, with the system I have, I had very few technical issues aside from a few triggers that I believe didn't fire. I think this is one where in a few months people will come back to the game to do A Dark Urge playthrough or something and hit Act 3 and be blown away by how good it is. And I still think there is a decent chance we do get some upper city content in the definitive/GOTY edition, something Larian traditionally has always done.
    The one area where I think Act 3 does suffer e bit in the story department is that because its so open, it can FEEL like the story has disappeared. It hasn't. Its still there. In fact you can probably do Act 3 in less than 30 hours if you really want to, and the result would probably feel like a very tight narrative. They also I think fumbled a few endings. The endings in there are great but in a game that is so rich with choice everywhere else, the LACK of choice in some of the endings feels slightly undercooked. Thankfully they are are starting to address that (Karlach being the first example).

    @crzyces1693 Год назад

    Only 70 ir 80 hours? Yikes, you must have missed a ton.
    Yeah, this game is that bloody big. My first playthrough I was level 12 walking into the start of Act 3. At hour 263, or 150 hours after hitting Act 3 I quit as 150 hours without character progression save a few pieces of gear was just to much. I started another playthrough, intentionally trying to avoid content, not reading every book and note etc. 135 hours into this one and I'm not quite max level yet as I am skipping *A TON* of side activities. I'd previously earned another 219K XP after hitting level 12 which, by Larian's XP table would have put me at level 19. Thats just too much content to keep available and not allow progression for _imo_ and was one of the few design flaws they went with. I know, high level spells are "hard" according to Sven, but they had over 6 years to work this out. It isn't players camping spawn zones to overlevel content, it is following the plotlines that Larian put in by hand. They should have come up with some type of solution beyond _"Yeah, so for the next 60% of the game you are what you are. Cool huh?"_ After that my peaves get really minor. My FPS went from 143 locked at 1440P max settings to 85-143 in the City after Rivington. This is a CPU issue, as I don't see an increase in RAM use the longer I play, though frequent saves and reloads does tank my FPS hard. Lol, I am standing completely still looking at a bland house with muddy textures and am hovering around 85-87, which definitely points to the CPU (5800X w/32GB 3200 cl 14-14-14-14-22...). I assume it is just the sheer number of NPC scripts running amok in the background. Jaheira's kids are bearing up dummies in the yard, the Steel Watch is marching about as I haven't blown the prison yet (man I love that mission); speaking of which, I havent even saved Volo yet. I was doing the clown murders since I didn't finish that one on my first go, but I should prolly get on that while I'm here. Then Jaheira, Counting House, Murders, Prison, House of Hope and I'll probably just finish the game at that point. Bleh, that'd be skipping the Sundry, House of Grief and a ton of other crap though...
    They may actually have been better off leaving half of Act 3 out and adding it as a full expansion when it was all set in its entirity. The level cap could have been raised for the expansion/DLC and some of the loose threads or quests that end...poorly when compared to the first two could jave been fleshed out. Ei The Toymaker quest where the solution is literally 1 thing. No matter how stealthy you are, how perfect everything goes, it srill comes down to one very explosive solution with one outcome, and then its just over. Anyone who has done it should know what I mean.
    That said, it's still the best game Ive played in, Id say a solid decade.
    So many people are telling how much better Wrath of the Righteous is, along with how much more difficult it is bc apparently BG3 is way too easy on Tactitian. I disagree, but I guess I just need to git gud. Or min/max as opposed to role-play a character? Maybe I'll give it a go after Phantom Liberty and Starfield.
    Is it worth the time? Considering there have been years where I spent over 200 hours on Madden and NBA2Kxx I'm going with absolutely. You can finish in 75 hours or 300 depending on how much you want to do. That's kinda nuts. Of course I also enjoy long games like TW3+expansions, playing Mass Effect 1-3 as one game, DragonAge: Origins, Planescape: Torment etc.. Heh, I liked the first Spider-Man game and that was pretty short, so it's not just about the length, the quality has to be there all the way through. Act 3 had some banger quests (Save Vanra/Hag Support Group and the Astral Carnival for instance) but it also had some duds like the Toymaker. Actually, thats really the only bad one I can think of. Maybe its them just not tyong in quite as well or being as reactive. Or the fact that Acts one and two were so flipping good. Man, that speech from Ketherick is outstanding.

    • @TroySturdy
      @TroySturdy  Год назад

      The Ranger is definitely weak. On one of my multiplayer playthroughs I'm trying ranger and I'm falling behind the fighter and paladin I'm with. (Although those are both very strong classes imo). Overall the ranger just doesn't bring enough to the table.
      I also think the Wizard is pretty weak early on, but in the later levels gets a lot of flexibility because it just knows so many spells. However overall is kind of outclassed by the Sorcerer and Warlock, but is at least super fun to play.

    • @shiranuishogunsaga8451
      @shiranuishogunsaga8451 Год назад

      @@TroySturdy -The Ranger class I can agree, depending on your build and how you utilize your kit, it can feel bad or feel decent at best. Like many others, I multiclass ranger with other classes (Currently playing a Gloomstalker 5/ Thief 3 with Sharpshooter Feat and this class deals more damage than a Fighter with Great Weapon Master Feat.)
      -Paladins have always been very strong. It has the highest burst potential compared to any class purely because of smite and smite not being limited to once per turn like Rogue's Sneak Attack.
      -As for Wizard, I think it helps a lot to keep in mind that damage is not what wizards specialize in. They are the best at battlefield control. Some of the wizard subclasses take one of the Sorc's metamagic options and allows you to do it as many times as possible, like Evocation or Enchantment. And I don't think a lot of people realize how tanky abjuration is and how useful divination wizards are.
      -I like that Sorcerer gives you flexibility with metamagic but it feels so limiting. Once all of your Sorc Points are gone, the class feels terrible to play. And I don't know about everyone else but Warlock also feels limiting as well because for majority of the game, you're running around with only 2 spell slots. I guess if you're used to archers and fighters, you like having an option to spam and deal ok damage like Warlock, and you don't care for spell slots.
