Walter, I've been with you since Hi Ren and I've found you to be a warm, wonderful man with a beautiful heart. I've begun looking forward to my time with you and this amazing art. I'm dealing with a daunting set of challenges in my life right now. A medical problem that has become something more. It's crushing. Last night was a long, dark one. Pain, fear and worry overwhelming me. I almost cried with happiness this morning when I saw this video. Because I needed it more than I knew. The light of your spirit warmed me and reminded me that this too shall pass. Also, my wife thinks you're wonderful. We giggled like school girls with you this morning and I want to let you know you touched someone's life for the better today. I love you, Walt. Rooski for life!
May you have the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I don't know your situation, my friend, buy my entire heart is with you and your missus through these challenges and I hope you know that I believe in your ability to overcome - be it accepting what is and finding peace or challenging what could be and emerging victorious. Thank you for your kind words. To know that I've made a difference to somebody is literally the only thing I've wanted in my life. You sharing your story makes me feel like I'm accomplishing what I want my life to be about and that feels sacred.
Sending you and your wife the strength you need to get through a difficult time, David. May there be brighter days around the corner, and plenty more giggles here in what is fast becoming a lovely little corner of the internet. ❤
May your world be infused with light, sacred time spent together and happiness and healing, no matter the circumstances. Best suggestion… be right here right now as much as possible. You are only in your power in this state of being. The past is history, tomorrow is a mystery. That’s why they call today the present. 🎁 In the world of today, you can handle anything that comes your way Blessings🙏
That's why I love Walter's reactions too. We get to experience the songs vicariously for the first time and recapture a little bit of that magic. I hope Ren gets to see some of these, I think he would love the authenticity and kindness.
Great reaction and loved your face when you got to the seashells. As you listen to Ren's music more, you will see nods and easter eggs all over the place. Ren is so clever about it. Just one of the many things I love about Ren's music. BTW, we give you love in the comments because you deserve them! ... and yes that is Romain 😍
The origin of the Shell name can be traced back to the seashells that Marcus Samuel senior imported from the Far East during the late 19th Century. When his sons Marcus junior and Samuel were looking for a name for the kerosene that they were exporting to Asia, they chose Shell.
Since the next one is light, may I recommend What You Want? It's so fun. Also, it came out well before Hi Ren, but it contains a call forward to Hi Ren. Delightful!
As for the Easter eggs, he is pairing that with double entendre as much as he possibly can and we slowly get that too. The names of pieces of his art like sick boi He is sick physically but then the art is sick in another sense that it’s so good. It’s sick it’s so good. It’s like his works of art are a full scavenger hunt of different kinds of references. You will see that the further down the hole you go. Now you can understand why he mentions his legacy in hi Ren. I’ve already told him that his work is complete no matter what happens to him from here. But we want more. Miracles. We want his health. There’s never been anything like this phenomenon before. It’s truly sick. In a great way. Don’t know if you know but professionals are using his work to help open up their clients in their process of healing and I told him this too and he highlighted it in the feed. There’s never been anyone so vulnerable AND transparent because of his independent status from the industry. Thank goodness the mofos at Sony dropped him! This is so much better than what they would be doing to him. Have you looked at sam smith? Egads! Ed Sheeran? Disgusting! He was meant for so much more! Dare I say it? Sshhh revolution sshhhh He has everyone in their feels Rappers, geeks, metal heads, pastors, grandparents, goths, creators that are mentally ill and those that serve the mentally ill. Creators from different countries all over the world. Creators that are blasted when they film their videos. I have had to stop myself from going into a hole of addictive watching hi Ren reactors Very very few people don’t get it. You can tell by what happens to their eyes where they are in their development. It’s crazy. Hi ren is an actual meter for where people are mentally is what I’ve found. I call it the renvolution When people try to keep from crying their eyes will blink. It’s fascinating af. I’m 61 yrs old. I’m entranced. Hope that helps with your deeper look. Also fascinating to watch couples react together. Shows their relationship. It’s uncanny. Fuckin incredible. Even the lights flashing is a brain trick thing. Someone needs to research that. He’s a smart mother that one. I’m watching even that Thank god it’s spring so I have to go outside and plant things. But he’s activated a portion of the populus with this performance art. Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious! 💥🫶🏼💥🫶🏼🫶🏼💥🫶🏼💥
Have to say i am loving the positive vibes here too. Big love to Mr & Mrs Dave, Walt and all the Rooskis. If you haven’t already, I would strongly urge you to take a look at Ren’s old video of the song ‘Patience’ (If you’re searching the tube, it’s the Ren Gill M.E version) It’s from back when he was first (mis)diagnosed with ME and featured in a documentary about that illness. Even little baby Ren leaves me astounded by his talent and strength
Woah so perceptive spotting that it's Romain playing the guitar! It is indeed him. How funny would it be if this whole video started with Romain betting Ren he could play his guitar blindfolded. 😂 I love each of your reactions even more than the last! I would be super interested to hear more about your thinking in relation to what Ren talks about here. I am very much on the same wavelength as him with that stuff and I was so excited to finally hear someone echoing my own thoughts. There's a live 360 cam performance of Jenny and Screech where Ren has an interlude around the 7 minute mark and goes into a little speech about political/social stuff, I bet you'd find it pretty interesting! OH and with the self referential stuff you were talking about, he has Easter eggs and call backs all over the place. His newest track, Illest of Our Time, is chock full of them. So maybe that would be a good one to visit after you've done a few more of his first!
Another enthralling reaction, you're so much fun to watch, and you catch so many aspects on first viewing, I'm always impressed. Keep up the great work! (There's always more to discover, which is why I'm so excited for the Further Review stuff too!) One thing about Money Game Part 1 that I completely missed on the first few watches is the brilliant cinematography by Ren's mate @Samuel Perry-Falvey -- I was so caught up in the tense theatre of threatened violence, and the unpredictability of Ren's flow, and the density of the lyrics, that I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the video is all one single shot. I'm sure it took a zillion takes to get it right, but just amazing choreography of the performers and the camera to make all the long shots and close ups and lighting hit the emotional beats right along with the music, AND tell the story in truly cinematic ways. Also, I can't *believe* you recognized Romain Axisa, on first viewing, by the way he holds the guitar. 😂 (He also did some amazing acting with his body language, radiating terror of what was coming next, especially given he had to do it over and over while sitting hooded in that hard chair through however many takes this took.) I imagine he can see through the hood at least enough to keep track of Ren's major movements, but still, it's hard for me to conceive of how both of them had to be keeping their mental metronomes in sync through the interruptions in the music. And the symbolism of drawing eyes on the hood, forcibly opening your eyes to the way the world works... and of pointing the mirror/anger/destruction at himself at the end instead of the helpless victim of the system, while at the same time evoking Thích Quảng Đức who protested injustice with self-immolation... there's so much!
I loved your sheer delight at the Easter egg ❤ loads of Easter eggs in 'illest of our time' but you need to go through a bit more of his catalogue to get them x
As you go through Ren's catalogue you'll find easter eggs in almost every song. I'd love to map them all out, and really see how it is all connected. In his birthday Twitch stream (don't watch it until you've seen Illest of Our Time as he watches it and reactions to it on the stream) he said he is trying to create his own MCU. That's why he has Jenny/Screech/Pig man/Money Game vinyl toys in his store. 😂 You mentioned Anime, so I think you'll like Ren's video for Heretic. It's a very anime video and there's a "super sayan" kinda moment. It's a dark/heavy song in many ways but I think you'll get a buzz from the stream crossing visuals.)
100% wait to listen to illest of our times so that you will be able to catch all the Easter eggs in that one! I KNEW your reaction to this would be amazing!!! 🎉
I knew you would absolutely love this. Yes, it’s heavy. But necessary. Absolutely love watching your mind truly blown by this man’s genius. And it’s absolutely that. No doubt. Laying it all out there. He hasn’t talked about the kids yet. It’s coming. When you’re done with Ren try Tom MacDonald with The System. I know you can deal son. We are with you. Already subbed but I’m a rooski fr on this one. I just knew this one would tip the scales for you. 🌺🌺impressed by you recognizing who is holding the guitar. 💥💥💥
Not only would I watch a 10 minute video of Walterooski reacting to paint drying, water boiling, or toast popping - I'd probably come back to watch his "Upon Further Review" segments. What I'm trying to say here is that when you type that this guy reacts, you have to put "reacts" in caps, italicize it, click on B to bold it, CTRL+U, change the font color to red, and finish it all off with some aggressive punctuation as you snort a line of coffee grounds.
This made me audibly laugh…. Hysterical audible laughter. The flattery washed over my being like a friggin full moon tide and I can’t stop my face from smiling. This comment had a little bit of everything 😂
As you probably already noticed Ren is a fan of one shot videos where the entire video is one continuous shot. He does those a lot and it's part of his genius. The amount of work that goes in to the planning to pull that off. Don't get me wrong they don't shoot just one time but the finished product is one of the shots they made. They just keep restarting until they manage to pull it off perfectly from start to finish. I love this guy 💖
Another great reaction. Looking forward to your "upon further review" series. I'm too old to stay up that late to catch the live, so I hope you post those here as well.
First, FANTASTIC reaction 👏👏👏👏 SERIOUSLY ❤❤❤ As for your question about other artists: NF! His ENTIRE body of work is connected by "easter eggs" as you call them. It's just a suggestion if you ever get interested in going on the journey that is NF... to finish your present journey with Ren. He (NF) has been around at least a decade. I just started delving into his music about 6 months ago...IT HAS BEEN LIFE CHANGING ❤
Yessss 🙌🙌 been about a month for me, for both of them. And I can honestly say, its changed me. Luckily just in time for NFs new stuff -its sooo good especially when youve followed the journey. Chinchilla is also coming out with new stuff too very soon 😁 As for the reactions, were just reliving our own first time reactions through them. As for Walter, he just "gets it" and appreciates it on a whole other level that not many reactors out there are!! ❤😊
I absolutely adore your sweet peaceful spirit you are very smart too! I love the “ beautiful but not pretty” I didn’t watch some of those at first but watched some reactions and figured out what he was getting at in them and now I can’t get enough of It He is deep and clever and beautiful also!! Love that kid!!
I love the way you react to music, bro. I hope you expand to other artists as well. Someone like Kim Dracula would be a good start, a chaotic trap metal artists from Tasmania Australia. Start with "Make Me Famous", then "Drown", and "70 Thorns" third. They all sort if link in that order. Brilliant stuff, keep it up!
Immaculate reaction sir. You did indeed see and hear a lot of the subtle nuance and quirks which makes part one a fantastic piece of musical theatre. Here's another you may have missed. Did you notice as Ren went to put the bat down, he mimicked the dance steps of a certain Gene "Singin' in the Rain" Kelly? Masterful.
Another Amazing reaction!! Looking forward to later's premiere too. For next I'd love for you to listen to some of his rap. I would start with Power (upbeat) or Life is Funny I think you'd also love his song Humble with Eden. So so good. Thanks for letting us follow your reactions to Ren, it's truly a pleasure 😊
Great reaction! You asked if other musicians do much self-reference of songs interconnecting their work - NF and 21 Pilots do that as a rule. Ren has some good Easter eggs for sure, especially in Illest of Our Time
As I said before, you are fast becoming one of my favourite RUclips channels. Your reactions are so genuine and heartfelt and your enthusiasm for the music really shines through. Your musical knowledge also lends weight to your reactions. About these songs specifically; yes, that’s Romain under the hood, part 1 is another live, one take video shot by Sam again. Part 2 - the seashells verse and the callback from Hi Ren, that’s something Ren does in a lot of his songs. And finally, in part 1, where Ren puts the guitar on the ground to draw the 👀, in the Angry Car Park Attendant video, you can see the scars on the Taylor from where he accidentally stepped on it. Stoked that you are doing the Angry Car Park Attendant video, I have a notification set for the premier already, can’t wait to see your reaction to it. Keep up the great work, much love from Scotland 🏴
So, you have to do The Hunger next if you are going to talk about Hi Ren. It's the third part of the Hi Ren and Sick Boi trilogy. Also studio recording showcasing his ridiculous rapping ability, volume up for that one.
Is it? It isn't really about his health. He raps about a lot of different things in it, but it's more about his mentality to music and what he was doing in his teenage years.
@@nathandts3401 the intro references his battle with illness but then it just turns into a triumphant F U. At the very beginning you see the pig mask on a stick. I see the trilogy as Hi Ren - the war, Sick boi - the battle and the Hunger - the victory. This might be a bit simplistic but the best way I can convey it.
I pretty much echo everyone's comments on here. You're such a joy to watch! Your pure excitement and enjoyment is completely endearing and I absolutely love the love that you show not only for Ren, but for your subs too! ❤
When you got the Easter egg!! Loved it! 😊. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do the live thing, but I’m looking forward to seeing your farther thoughts! Thanks for a great smile! ❤
The easter eggs are so cool. Personally it's been a long time since I've seen someone making art and music that connects so many people and makes them all excited about it. It's a good job we couldn't see Romain's face in Money Game 1. I honestly think I'd struggle to see someone pull a guitar out of his hands, even acting... even Ren. lol.
Even though this video is from 2 months ago, I just wanted to say you are ABSOLUTELY worth my time and anyone else's who watches your reactions, dear 💜💜
I was wondering if you would've caught who was sackman. You are right!!! It was Romain! Also, you are one of my favourite reactors right now. Your knowledge and energy are invigorating! You mirror me in the ways I first reacted hearing these songs and it warms my heart. "I want to run laps right now" - I feel that on a deep level! Your insight and thoughts are as intriguing as your reactions are. No fast forwarding or early quiting out! Love your stuff! Keep being you ❤
❤ I love your reaction Waterooski. I have a twin brother, but the way i connected to your reaction was so close to me that it made me cry. Would love to hear the longer conversation on Money Game! 😊
Really looking forward to the tuesday (cuz 9pm Arizona time is waaaay early in the morning here) that I can watch the Upon further review episode on this. And all of them ofcourse! The mood, the lyrics and his insane flow in Money Game pt. 1 has got that one to be one of my favorites. Also, Walter, you’re a good man. ✌🏻
MG1 This one gives me chills and heavy Clockwork Orange vibes MG2 super cool because step 4 and 5 is a direct reference to the first owner of Shell Gas.. He actually sold seashells by the seashore before he started Shell oil....and committed atrocities against African indigenous tribes...
Therecare a couple of artists who self-reference. Frank Zappa did it throughout his career. Songs would be revived, rearranged and repackaged to serve a different purpose on an album ten years later. Characters would appear and reappear in different contexts and themes would reimerge. The other artist is King Crimson who return to themes and motifs again and again, but always reinvent them as something on the cutting edge.
even better than a beer ... send the cost to his gofundme he set up to help pay his medical bills for his current treatment... his targets been more than met... but even if he gets a surplus, he deserves it ... :) ... thanks for the reactions mate ...
I absolutely loved your reaction. So genuine. I subscribed in early days and love your reactions. Keep it up. You seem a lovely soul and I (and I see that others) appreciate that.
Great use of Easter egg! I am fairly new to choir channel and have come away with something to remember every time so far. Pearl clutching was the first. Seconding the recommendation to react to Patience. No rush, there are no bad Ren songs. Guessing it was Romain just by how he held the guitar? What! Well played sir.
"I would buy that guy a beer" Loved that! You have a very singular take on Ren's performances. Appreciated!
Much obliged, my friend!
NF is another artist whose catalogue is a fully integrated story
Yes, I second this!!! 😊 So much music and talent discovery, had never heard of Ren or NF until recent. So glad I finally did 😊
Yes! Ren said on a live that it was Romain who was playing the guitar on this video.
Your enthusiasm brings me back to the first time I heard these amazing creations! Everything Ren does is clever and purposeful!
That's why I love Walter's reactions too. We get to experience the songs vicariously for the first time and recapture a little bit of that magic. I hope Ren gets to see some of these, I think he would love the authenticity and kindness.
Just an FYI: NF is pretty much the “King” of easter eggs and hidden references in his music, been doing it for years…

He leaves easter eggs in a lot of his work. "What you Want" has a nod to Hi Ren too. Makes me laugh every time.
Another great reaction. Looking forward to your "upon further review" series. I'm too old to stay up that late to catch the live, so I hope you post those here as well.
They will 100% be posted as regular videos following the live show :)
@@walterooskiyay!
First, FANTASTIC reaction 👏👏👏👏 SERIOUSLY ❤❤❤
As for your question about other artists: NF!
Chinchilla is also coming out with new stuff too very soon 😁
As for the reactions, were just reliving our own first time reactions through them.
As for Walter, he just "gets it" and appreciates it on a whole other level that not many reactors out there are!! ❤😊
Walter, your delight is contagious. It tickles me so😂😂 I've seen this song a million times, but your reaction added so much value 😊❤
So excited ✨you will be amazed by these - again 😉❤️
I absolutely adore your sweet peaceful spirit you are very smart too!
I love the “ beautiful but not pretty”
I didn’t watch some of those at first but watched some reactions and figured out what he was getting at in them and now I can’t get enough of
It
He is deep and clever and beautiful also!!
Masterful.
Just found your channel today. Working my way through your Ren reactions. So happy to be here. Great analysis and commentary. You made my day.
Your excitement on this journey down the Ren rabbit hole is just brilliant. Seeing you discover what a clever and caring guy Ren is is lovely ❤
Another Amazing reaction!!
Looking forward to later's premiere too.
For next I'd love for you to listen to some of his rap. I would start with Power (upbeat) or Life is Funny
I think you'd also love his song Humble with Eden.
So so good.
Thanks for letting us follow your reactions to Ren, it's truly a pleasure 😊
I can confirm it was Romain in the hood. Heard him say it on a twitch stream.
Wow! Fantastic Negrito shout out, very cool I saw him in concert in Phoenix a few years ago
Dear, you a definitely worth our time. The world needs more kind people like you! ❤
REN has been a blessing to 2023!
Yay!
You have a great radio voice. 😊❤ thanks for some articulate and enthusiastic reactions. Lots of love your way
First reaction of your's I've seen....your giddiness to this is infectious love it...will be watching more
Great reaction!
Also ren is writing part three to this right now !!! He said its gonna be his best work yet and that is just holy wow 😯😯😯😳
@@brucesaunders3528 I do remember the Poison in my veins line, but I still have that song down as its own thing.
@@nathandts3401 I may have it wrong but thought they were a trilogy, belter of a tune though
@@brucesaunders3528 Can't say I'm an authority. Jumped on the bandwagon when it blew up. It came out before Hi Ren and Sick Boi though.
You’re authentic and kind.. as well as intelligent. You deserve the love. ❤
Keep being you ❤
Walter, your vibe is so gentle and authentic. I love listening to your reactions ❤❤
I cannot express how much I love your Ren reactions. ❤
Love your reaktion. This may be one of my favorites of his song. I really like when artist speak up about our society ❤✊🏼
We don't "seem" to enjoy watching you. We do enjoy it. Awesome reactions!
One thing I've learned from watching Ren videos, Brighton has some pretty grim places.
❤ I love your reaction Waterooski. I have a twin brother, but the way i connected to your reaction was so close to me that it made me cry. Would love to hear the longer conversation on Money Game! 😊
Yes. ROMAIN
You are definitely worth my time ! ❤ I love your musical knowledge and your love and enthusiasm for talent !
when u hear something that is really good I just love watching how it effects you! Keep doing u!!
Modern Bond song was the perfect way to describe Money Game Pt 2 😂
Really looking forward to the tuesday (cuz 9pm Arizona time is waaaay early in the morning here) that I can watch the Upon further review episode on this. And all of them ofcourse!
The mood, the lyrics and his insane flow in Money Game pt. 1 has got that one to be one of my favorites.
Also, Walter, you’re a good man. ✌🏻
Absolutely love your reactions. You are spreading so much love to people. Well done
Yes he's confirmed it's Romain holding the guitar lol I can't believe you picked up on that 👌🤯
MG1 This one gives me chills and heavy Clockwork Orange vibes
MG2 super cool because step 4 and 5 is a direct reference to the first owner of Shell Gas.. He actually sold seashells by the seashore before he started Shell oil....and committed atrocities against African indigenous tribes...
Another awesome reaction. Thank you Walter
Absolutely loving your reactions mate 👏 thanks for putting a smile on my dial, keep clutching your pearls it cracks me and the misses up 😊
Dude, I am so honored! Thank you for going out of your way to be kind!
I’m looking forwards to you doing the Love This Music songs. Fun fun fun!!
He is referential through his music and movements. Chinchilla does a left knee thrust that Ren incorporates in most of his stuff
"The World is Yours" from Scarface. The statue Tony has in his home with the neon going around the world.....Nas used that too, great!!
even better than a beer ... send the cost to his gofundme he set up to help pay his medical bills for his current treatment... his targets been more than met... but even if he gets a surplus, he deserves it ... :) ... thanks for the reactions mate ...
I absolutely loved your reaction. So genuine. I subscribed in early days and love your reactions. Keep it up. You seem a lovely soul and I (and I see that others) appreciate that.
Not sure how this one slipped by, you're always entertaining bro. Appreciate the t-shirt too. #ROCKNROLLSTAR
I don't usually comment much, just wanted to know i love your real reactions to these, you're awesome
great reaction thank you ❤
I enjoy your reactions sooooo much
Thank you so much ♥️
❤❤
You are an absolute joy!
Er…your channel not choir channel.
Love the excitement in your voice 🙂 just subscribed! Ren has not made a dud yet!
Welcome to The Rooskis my friend!
Loved your excitement!
Great reaction 😊
Gotta love Romaine Axisa on guitar 🎸
