I’ve never heard “A Sunday well spent is a week content” 😂 And I’m so happy I have! I’m using this saying 🙏🏾
I wrote that down!
"A Sunday well spent brings a week of content” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying is said to be a “Golden Maxim” of Sir Matthew Hale (1609-1676), but became popular in the 1830s and 1840s. “A Sabbath well spent brings a week of content” was an early version.
This was printed in The Cottager’s Monthly Visitor (London, UK) in July 1839:
“A Sunday well spent
Brings a week of content
And gives health for the toils of the morrow;
But a Sabbath profaned,
Whatsoe’er may be gain’d,
Is a certain forerunner of sorrow.”
I would put money on the premise that the modern interpretation of this is nowhere near the original intent. In those days a well-spent Sunday involved worship, rest, and family time. Now that we have two-income families, it means putting in overtime because of the extra obligations.

This is totally non planner related buttttttttt!!! Can you possibly do a home tour? The little peeks here and there are so beautiful. I am in the process of doing a home renovation on a budget and your home is giving me a lot of inspiration. Would definitely love if you could do more of a week in the life video following your planner/changing things up as your days go on.

I watched this video last night and I wasn't paying attention like that but let me tell you im here a 2nd day because im taking notes, watching this and how you go on about your day in Sunday , im just so proud of you because im going to follow this same 15 tips to get things done , thank you for sharing .
I needed this to refocus. I am tired. Exhausted but this helped me see I need to somehow get myself together tomorrow. You are so right, preparing helps you during the week. How did our grandmothers do it?! They prepped for Sundays (on Saturdays) for dinner, church and the week actually. Where did they get the energy? Thank you sister.

Thank you for being so transparent, I recently moved into a fairly large house with my work schedule, school, wifey duties and cleaning. I am having a hard time balancing everything, and most of my time is spent being frustrated!

Same, except I downsized with 6 children aged 9,8,6,5,3,& 2. Organization and lists are a MUST for productivity AND sanity. Lol
True. I decided to outsource some things so that I can have my career and time with my family. Grocery delivery is my jam lol. Bi weekly cleaner and I keep up in between and family list apps. It's 2021, I have a very involved job so I decided to use my resources.

Why do you have 5 planners?! I can barely keep my phone calendar and written planner up to date 🥲
@@knowyourkismat I have a catch all planner for the family for appointments, holidays and what not. I have an HB90 Writers Planner, it helps me track my writing, editing and publishing (I'm an author). I have a bedside journal to record my thoughts at the end of the day. I have a morning book, which I write prayers in and then one planner I'm using on our new house build. It's not for everyone but this system works for me.
@@AuthorMLBullock oh I see that totally makes sense to have diff books for diff reasons. I thought it was 5 planners that overlap to keep track of appointments etc 🤯 I write everything in my written planner and then anything that I think I’ll forget or want a pop up reminder for I will put into my phone. But I don’t always have both with me so sometimes things get lost in translation… I just couldn’t imagine having to do that over 5 diff books 😩

Meal planning is so important if you are trying to stick to your budget. We eat out all the time and after looking over my bank statement I was appalled 😳 since we’ve been meaning planning it’s made a HUGE difference. Thank you for sharing your very beautiful and organized planner 😊❤️

I loved this video. Tried making myself a Sunday Plan after watching, and used it for the first time yesterday. It worked wonders. I love checklists, but they're usually very general and depend on that day's needs. Having a perpetual Sunday checklist never occurred to me. I was so productive yesterday and my kids are ready to start school tomorrow without any last minute stress, because we prepared yesterday. as a Christian, Sundays are a day of rest in our home. We spend it with family and/or friends. Parks, pots lucks after church, games, visiting grands etc
We do all our planning on Saturday evenings

Thanks for this amazing video! I am big on meal planning too 👍🏽 overnight oats and slow cooker meals are my favorites:) Any time I am in the kitchen I looks for way I can meal prep ahead, however small that may be ( cooking eggs take only few minutes and are a great protein source that is perfect for breakfast or lunch) so my family and I can eat healthy home cooked meals instead of reaching for processed, unhealthy foods.
