Heard these when my uncle bought them in the early 90's. Made me fall in love with audio. 30 years later, after some repair work, they're sitting in my living room.
I remember back in the early eighties I went to this Hi Fi shop to check out, well I don't remember what, but the salesperson started playing the Kappa 9's for a potential customer. I was godsmacked when I heard them!!
I own Kappa 9s also in their day they were infamously known as ... Amp Killers ! All Hail the Golden age ! I do recommend Bi-Amp'g they WILL draw an enormous amount of power from the low end.
I had the black pair powered with some adcom mono blocks. Absolutely killers. Definitely not the loudest but beautiful, natural and never strained. The adcoms probably helped with that. Love your setup!
I’ve heard this same song on the thiel cs 7 and the thiels sound much better in the mids. Much more tactile and deeper in the bass. Just as clear. Kappa 9’s still rock for fun for surez
No, I killed my Nakamichis with my kappa 9.2. Even a huge Krell didn't kick their guts. Eventually I ended with experimental TMR ES 100 monos, that can deal with these very low restences.

What a pain, such magnificent speakers will never be produced again, and all related skills are lost.
very clear sound....very cool

I love my budget friendly SM-125s but these....these are a thing of beauty.
Love them, I had the 8s. They need a very large room to work properly or you’d be sitting at the woofer level.
I have the same loud speakers in black finish which connected to a tube power amp , they sound awesome. I love them.
Man, I was thinking I didn't have enough apartment for these, but who cares. These are dope.
Yeehaaa......love these Kappas.

Schade das mann von Infinity nix mehr hört ! keine neuen kappas mehr !
These sound like somebody is playing the acoustic directly at me. Very fine speakers made in Germany.
They are American made/build not German
Did you send the polydomes to miller sound? Do they have the original crossovers in them?
die hatte ich auch mal anfang der 90er neben der infinity kappa 7a ...
Nakamichi & Onlyo able to drive them in extended mode without shut down?
