Love the sound of an old JD..!
Oh, to have a little farm and and old John Deere or 2 and a John Deere baler. My retirement dream.
Love the tractor! I had a John Deere 60 ❤👍🌵🤠
had a neighbor back in 69 had one n liked it so much..the old popping johnny..we had the A and B
Amazing machinery
I have almost the exact same set up JD 14T baler powered by a 1941 JD B hand start narrow front tractor. I bale around 600 bales a year with that combination.
Got bored sitting around, hay, get the ole Deere out, let's go bale some cornstalks,
Very Cool Setup!
Just think back in my dads hay day thats all they had to farm with no cab no air conditioner just u the sun the dust and the heat
It don't look like it's had many bales run through it. We got one but it's pretty used up. It does about a hundred bales a year for one of our landlords goats
👌👌👌👌
I didn't know they bailed corn stalks. Stuff is awfully coarse.
Me either I never thought of such thing
Used for bedding, we tried it a couple times but the mice chewed the heck out of the strings, then it's a real mess. Much better if you could use an old wire baler.
Corn stalk bales are used for beading
What is the hp power of this tractor and pto ??
The John Deere B is about 20 hp for this year model. (1946)
Would there be any advantage to running a rake thru the field first?
We did it to have a wind row to follow.
@@nathanbauers5382 Did you use a stalk chopper Also?
@@steveschierholz5272 Yes, we did
Isn't baling corn stalks hard on the baler?
Yes, It is hard on them.
I mean some balers can take corn stalks like they're no problem
@@countryboy6934 them masseys don’t hate em that much
Ok... my guess.... 410 pounds per bale.
Try 50 lbs pre bale
corn stalks ??? nothing eats them ..and dont use for beading..worthless..
I've used corn stalks for bedding . And they do mack great bedding but must be dry and chop finer to work best . And I've tried different forms .
