    I’ve been using the 3DME for a month or so now and they are amazing for me. As a lead vocalist behind the drum kit, coding a balance of room, mics and pa feed in my precious in ears was near impossible. Now I just dial it all in, then adjust the in ear mic’s to taste. It’s wonderful

      how db protection do you get with these

    • @citytonightproductions
      @citytonightproductions 2 месяца назад

      @@DA-ti6pc not sure honestly, but with the built in mics to dial in the room and the isolation they are incredible. You can set it to whatever level you want. You can also use the built in limiter. It also has a full parametric EQ you can set to however you wish and it has recall of 3 user programs. Definitely worth the money I spent. You can even get the custom ear molds done for an extra $150 if you don’t like the foam buds

    Fascinating bit of kit, I use custom moulded IEMs from ACS Custom here in the UK. Their Ambient series has a built in 17dB filter, so you can hear your surroundings clearly, and even talk to other band members without removing your IEMs, but still get a very good reduction in ambient noise. Of course with a port being open to the outside world, and not completely sealed, you lose a little bit of top and bottom end, but still well worth it. No extra cables to faff with, and nothing to charge either 🙂

    Thank you for putting this video review together. May I use it in my musician's hearing health lectures? I tried this system out at our recent percussion convention in a very noisy product expo room using a monitor feed. Very cool technology.

      Happy to be able to provide it John. Absolutely, feel free to use it! What classes do you teach (I adjunct at a few institutions as well)?
      We recently published another video comparing 9 of the most common earplugs for musicians. Hope you find it useful. ruclips.net/video/7QIv0ES3Aco/видео.html

      Would have been better to hear limiter at 85db in a more active part of the orchestra

    Great review, thanks. I just received my 3dme and am surprised to find the noise floor to be very high, even with the ambient mics turned off. Have you noticed this in your tests? There is a bothersome hiss even when used as a regular iem. Let me know. Thanks

    I'm gonna give these a try. I'm an audiophile who finds it difficult to enjoy my home system anymore due to my hearing loss. Concerts are better, probably because they are so loud, and theirs the excitement, taking my mind off the hearing loss. I plan on using the EQ to compensate for my hearing loss using my audiogram. But, of course I can't boost frequencies anywhere near to the level the audiogram indicated I have a loss. ie, I'm down 80db at 12kHz, 40db at 8kHz. Should I just not bother to boost the highest frequencies?

    Hi I'm a singer and I always had problems with head resonance using IEMs, especially while hitting high notes at high volumes. Any comments from singers using this IEMs?

    Is that listening test just the mics in the ear pieces? no in ear monitor mix blended in?

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Год назад +1

      Hi Justin! Yes, the sound samples highlight the Active Ambient mic system. There was no monitor mix blended in.

    You mentioned that the output jack on the bottom of the pack can be used to measure the SPL being delivered to user's ears. Could you speak a bit more as to how this would actually be accomplished? Would you take a recording of that output and measure the waveform somehow?

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Год назад

      Hi Brian, Sensaphonics used to sell a monitoring device called dB Check that could do this. While I believe it has been discontinued, ASI Audio mentions on their website that this is "coming soon".
      There are definitely ways to record the output and estimate exposures though most ways I can think of doing this are cumbersome. Let's hope dB Check v2 hits the market soon!

      @@HearingTracker very cool and thanks for the reply! As a solo musician experimenting with the 3dme, I have found that recordings of a mix between the ambient mics and my monitor mix of guitar and vocals have resulted in some of the best sounding live recordings I've ever made! The ambient mics produce a great studio image of the live environment, and the monitor mix signal makes the music crisp and clear! Definitely a surprise benefit of this system!
      I do wish there was some way to record the ambient and line in signals separately, so i could mix the balance between the two in post-production, but still, it produces really great live recordings!
