I bought a C&P planner many moons ago and quickly realized that actual planners are not their strength. If you have the funds to invest try Gillio (I have several) or VDS (I have two). They are both European brands. The quality is amazing and they have a warranty. Gillio is a leather company so they do leather well. At VDS you can get a planner custom made to your specifications. ❤
I have this exact planner and yes, the quality is bad. However, I purchased it during the sample sale so it was half the price and I expected things to be wrong with it. I just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price and the planner not be perfect. The ring mechanism is wobbly and it has several cosmetic defects. HOWEVER, they just released their new redesigned A5 foundations planners and I really wanted the Ash color so I grabbed it for my birthday hoping for the best. It just came in today and it’s perfect! The ring mechanism is stable, the stitching is neat AND they fixed the air pocket issue. At the bottom of the planner they added a small opening and I think it prevents the pockets of air on the front cover. The redesigned planner is really amazing and definitely worth the price point. I’m assuming they listened to customer feedback and redesigned the planner.
ooh I am so glad to hear they redesigned it!.. I ordered the a5 cortado with my sub box for this next month and I was just crossing my fingers I would get a good one.
I don't blame you for ditching that planner - those defects would have driven me crazy. My Moterm is cheaper but the quality far exceeds that of the C&P. Your new Rosie planner is gorgeous and much more enjoyable to watch being used in your videos. Personally also love that @rosiepapeterie is a Canadian company! 🍁
Yes! I love the Rosie Papeterie Apple Vegan Leather, I didn’t think I’d like it so much but after filling it with inserts, I’m obsessed! I’m glad you’re enjoying the Rosie Planner! 🤍
I love your channel and love cloth and paper. Thank you for being honest. I am so surprised you had the same experience twice and I agree it is pretty bad especially for the price. I don’t blame you for switching. I purchased the exact same planner and had no problems, thank goodness, none of the front leather issues and my stitching is barely noticeable. I want another but they are expensive planners and it sounds like the quality is not consistent. Thank goodness we have tons of options, Moterm and Rosie Papeterie just two great companies.
Thank you for this review. I watched your video when you initially purchased the planner. I was about to buy this in a personal but that air bubble is irking me entirely too much. I don't want to chance it for the price.
I used to love c&p but I’m taking a break… is a bit stressful with the sale events. I also bought the same planner and had the same issue with the leather. I’m in love with the color but not how it looks, especially being 160 dollars :(
Ditto on everything you said. I received an A5 planner in the quilted pattern and when I received it the rings were LAYING inside the planner not attached at all. They of course sent me a new one but it left a very bad taste in my mouth for C&P planners.
@@Kristina_summer they were literally laying inside the planner and at first they tried to tell me I ORDERED a folio, I didn't but it still would have been wrong. I love your new planner. I might NEED one. I'm very needy. lol
I do like Cloth and Paper for their inserts and stickers, but I received a pocket planner in an aesthete box that was terrible, you could barely open it (never mind lay flat) and the "pockets" were so tight you couldn't even get a piece of paper in there. so the idea that it was worth $100 was crazy, Moterm even does it better. I also had some quality issues with other things that came in boxes, including pens that didn't write. They should have checked the second one they sent you. The color of your planner is beautiful though...
Moterm is on my list ☺️ Sad to hear you had a bad experience with a couple of items from Cloth and Paper. They need someone specifically for quality assurance/control 😆
I think C&P have gotten lazy. They can make and sell whatever crap they want and people will buy it. If you post anything with a critique in the Facebook groups, it will be deleted! RUclips videos is the only way to see an honest review.
I found your channel when I was looking up Filofax Norfolk reviews/examples. I actually ended up buying a Norfolk in the personal size, and noticed that it does not have the same build quality issues even though it is also two main pieces of leather sewn together. I know the Norfolk does have some padding and cardboard (and likely glue as well) added for structure, which might eliminate any potential bubbles or airpockets.. but all of these notes just reaffirm the quality misses on the C&P Foundations covers. It really is a shame though, because I would rather support a smaller, WOC-owned company like C&P than Filofax. But this type of quality in the cover is the one that she stands by... and it's all just so..... disappointing(?) I don't know if those are the right words, but I totally agree with you and your review.
I love C&P and I have seen others planners and I didnt order one. I have one of the older folios and the quality is nice on that but the new ones I am not sure about
This makes me so happy I didn’t buy this. I was lowkey sad it sold out before I got one. I also saw it being sold on one of their flash sales, but I missed the live and it sold out again. But for the price I need as close to “perfect” as possible. I like their stationary, but I found a less expensive binder that doesn’t have any of these defects.
I’ll have to agree with you with your review on CP. I mean everything you said it was so visible, can’t deny it

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll add these to my list 🤍

I’m so glad the Cloth and Paper leather planner you received didn’t have issues 😅🫶🏼
I appreciate your honest review on the CP planner.
Your videos are really healing and relaxing!
Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

😵💫 I can’t believe the rings weren’t attached

Yes, I agree with you! I would rather support a smaller business than a big one ☺️

Me too! I have an older C&P leather cover and the quality is 10/10. Ever since they went with a new manufacturer, I’m like 👀
@@Kristina_summer yes! The originals are really great quality
I am so glad I didn't spend money on CP
I’m watching this and thinking is it bad that I already setup my A5 for all of 2025 already?! Yes I can fit all my stuff in 1 planner 😅
ME TOO, I ALREADY HAVE MY PLANNER FOR 2025 🤣🤍 me and you both!

Exactly! I love that you said, “close to ‘perfect’ as possible.” 💯
