It's not a traditional semi-auto. It is a double reset system. It is completely different than a standard disconnector system.
YES, 3 POSITION M16 SAFETY WILL WORK. I know someone who did it. He used an FRT15 upgrade in a WOT and an M16 3 pos/auto safety. Said all he did was grind the center nub until it was half the thickness.

Would this also work with the Atrius? A person I know got his recently and it didn't come with a 3 position lever like how it was advertised and so he's wondering what lever would work
@@cheekibreeki921 looking at the safety for the atrius, it looks the same as an m16 safety as far as design goes. Should be able to use the m16 selector and grind the 3rd pos "nub" to make it skinnier. If you were ever to compare the trigger vs the m16 safety yould see what I'm referring to. Mostly likely going to be trial and error with grinding the nub

I contacted tommy triggers about the problems people are having with safe, frt, frt. He is aware of the problem. He also said he added a longer disconnect to the future triggers. But did not acknowledge how he was going to fix the problem for the people who have the messed up parts.
OR you can flip the tommy trigger safety upside own, add a detent, mill a slot with dremel and you have a stealth selector. Remove left side lever and rotate, reinstall lever and you will have semi, frt and safe. Reverse process and you are back to compliant safe, semi, semi. OR you can use a standard safety by adding a detent between the two existing detents, mill a little material for clearance and then you will have a stealth safe, 45 degree frt, semi. End game is to appear compliant to observing eyes, make the detents shallow enough so that most people would not even notice the detent when rotating the safety.

Is the Alamo 15 a plug-n-play setup? Do I need a 3 position safety to retain safe, semi, frt? Or what if the lower already has cuts for a third mode or is that just cosmetic?
it was plug and play for me but i have seen others have issues. You need a special safety to work in these triggers. Im not grasping your last question.
@@ibingly my bm9 has cuts in the lower showing safe, fire, and a third that looks like either binary or burst. Didn’t know if that meant the safety they come with was compatible 🤷♂️

I am solely interested in the mechanical function of how one would work in theory. But why would you suggest the powered by graves over the frt-15? You literally spent the lion share of the video explaining the frt-15, which is very impressive. It seems that the FRT-15 is the superior trigger for people who like to theoretically enhance operational abilities. If a person had a stock Bushmaster M4 patrolman’s rifle , what theoretical upgrades could be useful in an alternate universe?
Question for ya, in position 3, it’s another safety. So I’m assuming the part that pushes the disconnect down is also pushing the trigger down. Thoughts ?

They are still available and you should get one . They are legal semiauto triggers and there is NO Law in the books to support them stealing ur legal property . Stay strong !

This is exactly what I needed. My buddy put the tommy trigger and hammer in the frt and we couldn't get it to work on the 3rd selection, it was like another safety.
He just needs a new safety he has some weird one with channel cut all around it from factory. I've never seen one like it but it's nkt the right one obviously. He needs the gunbroker safety
I got a WOT and put the Tommy triggers FRT kit on it and it was the biggest headache to get working. It took a lot of filing to get work. I wouldn’t recommend using the WOT period. It is a knockoff of the FRT, but not a 100% knockoff. Only the hammers are the same.

Should’ve left it alone it works great with a good buffer you don’t need to upgrade it lol I never did anything special to make mine work.
What all did you have to file down? What all did you have to replace for that matter
So I have the Alamo and the TT upgrade kit and it will work just fine in safe and semi mode but in frt it will maybe fire 1-3 shots then light primer strike. I’ve tried different lowers, every buffer weight/springs etc. I will say that when the trigger is out and no selector is in I can drop the hammer without the roller needing to be pushed down. Any idea what it is?
The roller not needed to be pushed down to release the hammer is a problem. You need to get a new kit or at-least the lower portion that has the self that interacts with the roller
@@ibingly the Alamo by itself with no TT upgrade kit works just fine, in fact perfect . It’s just when I install the kit the semi works and catches fine but the frt mode causes hammer follow light primer strikes

Out here doing God's work. I'm a po boy so having hard time even get enough for the trigger so hopefully soon I'll get a chance to do some milling (despite being broke I do have a mini mill that was gifted years ago ha, go figure)

Looking at the kit, I'm 99% sure the WOT is compatible with the FRT kit. The Alamo kit is completely different though.

Sorry to bother you again but you have been helpful and I really appreciate your helpfulness but I don't know anyone to ask about this. I don't feel good about Gunbroker. They are making me send pictures of two ID's and a third picture of myself holding a picture ID so I can activate an account with them so I can buy something. My question is, does Gunbroker make everyone do this to activate an account? This seems very weird. Gunbroker looks like a Fed operation to ID people to me. Do you think Gunbroker can be trusted? They won't answer the phone and they are slow at responding to emails.
I don’t trust them personally but I believe everyone has to get verified like that. The method you described is what deterred me from getting an account. Do you know how to drill and tap? There is a method where you can add a set screw to the nerfed safety. I’m told this works well but have not tried it myself
@@ibingly No I don't know anything about how to drill and tap. Wish I did. I'm sure there are videos about it. I tried to cancel my order with Tommy but he won't let me. I really wanted a third position but it's not worth the money and hassle trying to get it and Gunbroker is a trap that's run by the feds it looks like.
@@lep38918 wrong one of the sellers on GB had the ATF pay him a visit when they bought something from him and he was selling a bunch of stuff solvent traps and shit. so they went to his address and grabbed his seller log info that simple. GB isnt working with the feds

Screws came with my safeties so not sure. Fostech Echo binary levers work
I got my gb center piece but the selector lever hits the notch when going into 3rd position. If I tap the safety from the opposite side, the lever will clear the notch and go all the way into the 3rd position. Any idea how to fix this with having to keep tapping the safety?

Not sure. Just to let you know. The Tac Com has been around for a while and doesn’t shoot remotely as fast as a FRT/PDT

The TT upgrade for Alamo comes with a spring (not the one already installed in the trigger). Where does that go?
Replaces the spring between the case and the trigger. It is the return spring

Hey man still waiting on my anti walk pins but is there any way you can show how to install the Tommy triggers Alamo upgrade kit on to an Alamo 15 trigger, I can’t find instructions anywhere and I’m still pretty new to the trigger mechanisms.

Optics planet had them in stock for a couple hours a few weeks ago and then canceled the orders. I believe the ATF is trying to spook all the distributers
BDU said its supply chain issues for manufacturing. I asked if it had anything to do with atf, bdu said it has nothing to do with that but who knows

All you need is a PMM trip kit. I will say I don’t think it’s worth the effort if you use the Tommy kit. I have yet to see one reliably use both modes. I have been working on a solution for the last 6 month with a varying degree of success. Even 3d metal printing offset bushing. What’s odd is the original FRT works great but the Tommy kit does not. My trip kit broke the other week and I believe that was a sign to give it up and move on lol
Can you help me. I have the alamo 15 and tommy upgrade kit. I bought the saftey. The lower works and functions exactly how it's supposed to. When I put the upper on the lower, it shoots safe, frt, and frt. Please help

One more question, I saw you had radian lever, what do think of their full auto talon-fa ambi selector lever that has a 0 degree, 90 degree and 180 degree position. I contacted radian and they said it looks like it could work. What’s your opinion? Thanks.

@@ibingly just a cheap Anderson. I’m going to try it in one of my nicer lowers tonight. I bet the Anderson is just a bit out of spec. I want the trigger in that lower tho. I just don’t want to have to press fit this damn trigger in.

Nice video. For a friend - Alamo with tommy upgrade and gunbroker safety. Safe Is safe, semi fires only one shot then it’s like it’s on safe again. If I move the selector to safe and back to semi, fires only one shot again. frt shoots frt fine. What is wrong with the semi position that I can only fire one shot. Please advise. Truly appreciate the info! Thanks!

@@silvosshop Hey man, im sorry. im just seeing this now. Its a common issue. You will need to deburr the disconnector
You are using M16 bolt carrier in AR15 which classify it as class 3 thus you need class 3 stamp before you do that. Even FRT15 trigger pack pass legal loop, you can't pass it with M16 bolt carrier. Do not do this or you will be in serious trouble.
i am using the bolt that came standard with all my rifles. Please do not spread misinformation.

Wot actually has a better design and the guy that makes it is from rare breed so it's kind of his design in the first place

Your FRT is different than most. Possibly an older model? I’m not talking the casing. Most have a solid back fin and it is not separate like the one in ur video
