I'm just so happy to see the "Empire Strikes Back" of the RB position. We're seeing Jacobs, Henry, Saquon, Gibbs and Montgomery, JK Dobbins, all making a big difference. Even Hunt is holding it down in KC, making Pacheco's injury a lot less of a burden on the offense. As it turns out, defenses just aren't equipped to deal with the run anymore after so many years of focusing on the pass.
The biggest change is the officiating focusing on the oline more now. And because of that. It makes passing more difficult. Which is also why people are running it more.
If the MVP wasn’t about narrative & the QB, the top 2 candidates should be running backs. Saquon is on pace to break the rush record. The Ravens are 1-4 if Derrick Henry doesn’t get 100 yards. Its not all about the QB

Honestly it’s more the defense being a cohesive unit that is propelling the Eagles to have so much success. This is our third straight year of having 9 or more wins through first 12 weeks. Saquon was always this talented, but this is the first time in his career he had a top 3 offensive line. Our offensive line has propelled every starting running back in the last three years to their career single season bests.
The voters will find a way to exclude anyone who isn’t a QB but Saquon 1000000% deserves the MVP. But the best part is that he doesn’t care, as he’s striving for bigger awards. GO BIRDS

The Lions defence holds teams to 16.6 points per game whilst the Eagles hold teams to 18.1 points per game. Factor in that the Lions have played and beaten better quality opposition and yeah Lions are better so far this season.

Barkley is not even close to Henry he is having a great season though. Henry was seeing 8 man boxes for 6 years in Tennessee and still ran for 2,000 yards he has shown this type of energy every season Barkley hasn't. Barkley is not even close to Henry he is having a great season though. Henry was seeing 8 man boxes for 6 years in Tennessee and still ran for 2,000 yards he has shown this type of energy every season Barkley hasn't. Barkley has had better wrs and tightends than Henry ever has in Tennessee actually. Henry in the playoffs took the titans to couple playoffs on his back
Even though I'm bias to the Eagles, I still have to agree with Shady. The Lions are a phenomenal team but look at the matchups. Our offense against their defense and our defense against their offense. I'm sorry. Goff is not throwing all over our defense. I consider Joe Burrow a much better QB than Goff and he didn't do it. I even consider Matthew Stafford as better and he had both his weapons in this game. I also don't see them stopping Saquon. That's just what I see.

The Eagles are currently the better team but it would still take a near perfect game to beat the Lions, and (I hate to say it) depending on the refs that may or may not be enough. I’m not saying they have it out for the Eagles but they have had too much of an impact on games in general this year.
I’ll make it simpler it’s a game of matchups the stats are meaningless if you have the right or wrong matchup.

I’m tired of seeing ppl complain about how dumb the giants are. Yes Barkley is amazing and has always balled out but even as a die hard eagles fan it’s such a dumb take. It’s crazy for anyone to think Barkley would have been THIS explosive and productive behind that giants o line. Barkley is the perfect fit for Philly. But he’s also having such an amazing career here in Philly bc of the other pieces around him. Jordan malata, Dickerson, Lane, cam and even Dallas and aj blocking for him. He’s confident in hurts and hurts is confident in him. He has an amazing o line to protect him and then he explodes!! He def wouldn’t be as productive with the giants! He deserves MVP! Praying we get that Lombardi this year, esp for BG now being out!!
