Thanks for making this video. I feel like I just did a "full rehearsal" before doing the actual race itself. Good to know the terrain of the route & your video has indeed given us a very good understanding of what we will be up(& down) against. See you Boston 18APRIL2022.
In my humble opinion, this video could be the most valuable tool that you can find to mentally prepare for Boston Marathon. According to the Marathon Strategies outlined by Scientist and coach Tim Noakes, Mental Rehearse is an essential step (page 625, Lore of Running). It is difficult to find a better video for that purpose. The video shooting angle is from a runner’s view, very different from these video by TV broadcasting. As a running coach and experienced marathoner, I highly recommend watching this video if you are preparing Boston Marathon.
Congrats and great timing. Cant imagine shooting and running for 3+ hrs. Just curious, u using any camera stick or any other tools at all? Not hand held when you swing and run, right? Osmo Pocket camera?
Thank you so much for taking this video and posting it! It really is the first time I’ve seen the race from start to finish from a runner’s perspective. This is an excellent tool for all marathon runners! It shows different running styles, different apparel, the crowd support, aid stations, etc etc for runners to get a good ‘feel’ for what to expect! Thank you for your time and effort to do this helpful video AND for running the 26.2 to accomplish it!!
Agree that this is a great resource. I was in a later wave and it was fun to re-live the memories of the whole course. I’m surprised the BAA has allowed this to stand but happy because they should. It’s good PR!
Thanks so much for shooting and posting this! I am working my way back to running after suffering a serious injury to my back (was told I might not walk properly again, let alone run). Training and trying to get back to being a real runner. Haven't run Boston since 1998, but this video is giving me the chills and the desire, as I work with physical therapists and get myself on the treadmill, to get back to running the roads. Seriously, the chills. Thank you again.
Nice video of Boston marathon. A little different conditions from when I ran in 2018. Thank you again for hosting me for the 2018 NYC Marathon running for Newbee. Look forwarding to meeting and running another marathon with you sometime soon.
watching the video and using a treadmill at the same time, I ran the first 10 k with you and for an hour, it was like I am you! That was an incredible experience. Now I still wish finishing a marathon but I have a more clear imagination. thank you so much ❤️🏃
Thank you! As I get ready for the 2022 race, I'm seeing all the places that I had mental difficulties the last times I ran the races, and now I feel more prepared.
Thank you so much for your video. A great run for you. I’m struggling with an injury but had real fun today on the spin bike watching & pretending. Thank you. ❤
Very useful video. Thank you very much for sharing it! You're BTW a true one man band : runner + cameraman + commentator + so on, so forth. Thanks again!
Love this video. Inspires me to keep running a little longer on the treadmill whilst reliving the Boston marathon route. Only wish I was as fast as you! 😊 Thankyou!
Well done, filming it from the beginning to the end, this really transports the marathon atmosphere to my laptop and makes we want to participate at big races again! :)
I hadn't even thought about qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon....until I stumbled upon this video. Now I have a new bucket list goal. good job, mate. :-)
Great video, I used it for my 10K in sections per week. It looked like me passing every fellows when on my treadmill during these couple of years of Covid-19! Thanks👍
Thank you so much for recording and posting this video. This is such a valuable tool for so many runners, but for me, it helped me re-live my first in-person Boston Marathon this year! 謝謝!
@@MarathonRunning May I ask how you got enough battery life to cover the entire marathon? Am I reading your description correctly that you actually used three different DJI Osmo Pocket cameras?
@@MarathonRunning Thanks! I really appreciate your willingness to share your experience with us. Did you record this video while holding the camera? Or did you have it mounted?
Great video! I have watched many Boston Marathon videos and this is by far the best video showing the true feel of the course. Great video for anyone trying to preview the course and prepare a strategy for race day. The craziest part of the video is when I run in front of the camera at about mile 25.5. I ran the 2021 Boston Marathon in 3:12. It was really cool to watch myself run for about 2 minutes on the video. Great surprise! Thanks for the video! I will watch the full video again before the 2022 Boston Marathon.
Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this. So helpful for everyone who plans to run the race like myself, or even to just get a feeling of what is like to run a marathon. 谢谢

New York is the best for sure. NYC has the best vibes. Millions of NYCers are out there cheering for you along the whole race except for the bridges where spectators are not allowed. To me, NYC Marathon is much more like a big city race while Boston Marathon is like a countryside race though with better organization.
