This was one of the best tutorials I've seen. Nothing assumed and well spoken. Appreciate you!
Thank you, I appreciate the kind words 🍻
You did an amazing job explaining to set up this wallet and trustline. I watched a number of videos and man yours is awesome. Thank you.

Awesome idea for a video. I wish more people knew about it and were using it, it is quite amazing. It makes trustlines so easy, amongst other perks! Great video brother!
Thank you much, I totally agree. XUMM is an amazing app, security is paramount, and the utility is just going to grow.

@@Codeward hi do I need send my XRP in xumm to participate in sologenic snapshot december 24? I dont like the idea sending my xrp in xumm or can I keep them just in my exhange ?
@@inmyopinion9988 XUMM is way more secure than any exchange. If the exchange your on decides to close doors, freeze your account, gets hacked or any other possible outcome, you can kiss your funds goodbye. Not your keys, not your coins.
That being said, if the exchange you're storing them on supports the airdrop, then yes you can leave them there to claim. However as we've seen with some exchanges and SGB drop: I personally wouldn't trust it. Self custody is the way to go imho.
@@Codeward yes I agree with you but I have actually a lot of XRP and the thing is I am just scared to move so large amounts 🤣 i am all-in xrp soon so it stressfull to move your whole wealth from one to another wallet
@@inmyopinion9988 fair I was the same way in the beginning, but if anything I would send either in smaller batches, or just send a small tx first confirm receipt then send the rest

Excellent video thank you. Does getting coins out of XUMM work the same way as any other wallet? I didn’t catch that in the video. Also, if I import say my exodus wallet into Xumm what happens to the coins that aren’t supported by the ledger?
Thank you, I appreciate it 🍻
Yes, correct, sending coins off XUMM is the same as other wallets, tap send (XRP), or tap the token, then send, and enter the address and tag if applicable, then sign the request.
Nothing would happen to the other coins, you would just have access to the XRP account from the other wallet (Exodus, Ledger, etc), so you wouldn't be able to sign an ETH tx from XUMM for example.
This was very helpful thank you
Good, no problem, I'm glad to hear 🍻

Quick question if ever I decided to sell xrp on this app how would you cash out ? Meaning cash from the ledger to a bank account.
Thank you
Hi Paul,
There's a couple ways to do this:
1. Send the XRP to the exchange you used to on ramp (buy XRP) in the first place, and withdraw through them
2. Setup a Gatehub account via gatehut.net and sell XRP for the Gatehub USD/EUR and withdraw to your bank
3. Wait for the XUMM on/off ramp to be implemented
Thank you!!
No problem, glad you found it helpful 🍻
very informational and helpful! I am curious if the word xumm is meant to be pronounced as exhume? As in to dig up (something buried) to reveal and unearth? Which makes sense in the crypto chthonian sense. Just a thought!
Hey glad you found it helpful :)
Actually it's pronounced "Sum" like a sum of money, tho I still mispronounce it often calling it "Zum"
Thank you!

You're very welcome 😅🍻
Great job for explaining a lot of things regarding the Xumm wallet. May I ask a pretty obvious question that I would just like to confirm? When we transfer XRP into the newly created Xumm wallet, we have to select the XRP chain from wherever we are withdrawing XRP from right?
Thank you, I'm glad it was easy to follow. If you're withdrawing from an exchange then, yes, you would select XRP -> Withdraw, and send to the address in XUMM (r123abc...).
@@Codeward thank you for the quick reply! Appreciate it a lot 🤗🤗
The question is, do I need two devices to be able to transfer xrp from say Kraken exchange or coin base to the xrp ledger xumm?.......any help appreciated,......if my app is on the same device ie Kraken, or coinbase can i do it from that one device, sorry I'm a complete beginner?
Hey there, sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification for this... weird.
To answer your question, yes, you can transfer all using one device.
- First, open XUMM and copy your r-address (assuming account created, else create one).
- On Kraken/Coinbase/etc., you'd log into your account, and select XRP then withdraw
- When entering details, recipient would be your XUMM address, if it asks for a tag you can use 0 or any other number as it's a self-custody wallet (tag is needed to deposit to exchange).
I have another video that may help, it is for CSC via Bitrue, but the principle is the same for XRP and other exchanges (Fees will differ):
How to Withdraw CSC from Bitrue: ruclips.net/video/xOOVmCemfQ4/видео.html
How to Deposit CSC to Bitrue: ruclips.net/video/DTltmYDDWMk/видео.html
Let me know if this helps, or if you have other questions.
What about more in depth, can we use XUMM to create a multi-sig XRP wallet requiring 2 out of 3 devices sign a transaction?
Directly with XUMM, not that I'm aware of.
However in tandem with xrptoolkit.com or xumm.community, this is something that you can setup, yes.
Thank you make it easier
No problem 🍻
thanks for explaining
No problem 🍻
Great explanation, thank you!

Extremely helpful. I have a question. I'm new to this and bought my first xrp. About 13. So can I transfer those in xumm now and rest of it later. Or should I just wait until I have above 20 and then activate it. Sounds kinda stupid for such a small amount but usd is very expensive here and I'm slowly buying it.
Thanks. Subbed.
In the video I mentioned the reserve being 20, although that was lowered to 10 shortly after I made it. So elwhat happens is if you sent 13 to xumm, 10 would activate your account and be held in reserve (its still yours, just not available for transacting), so your available balance would show as 3 XRP. Note this isn't just for XUMM but for any self custody XRP account like Ledger, D'Cent, etc..
@@Codeward Thanks a lot brother. Been binging on your videos whole day. Great work.👍
Question! If you wanted to send your XRP from XUMM back to an exchange, could you show us how you would do that? Kind of confusing Thank you
Sure, I have a video here, although its for CasinoCoin, XRP is the same process, just a different address ruclips.net/video/DTltmYDDWMk/видео.html
Sorry to bother as I am from india and while transferring xrp to xumm exchange asked destination tag. And and and another question is xumm wallet safe like I have kept all my xrp
Hey there, sorry for the delayed reply.
If you're sending from an exchange to XUMM, then no destination tag is required. If they force one, just put 0 or some other number (it won't affect things for personal wallets). The only time a destination tag is required is sending funds to an exchange, then you don't want to forget it..
Security is XRPLLabs top priority, as such yes it is safe. There's no way to extract your seed phrase or anything from the wallet, admittedly I trust XUMM more than I do Ledger.. but that's just my personal opinion
Codeward, hopefully you can help me. I tried to file my crypto taxes and when I listed XUMM and used my wallet receiving address for Csv file transactions it only showed Xrp, CX1 and xtk. It doesn’t show Sologenic or Core?
I haven't looked too much into the CSV export as of yet, but it's something I've been meaning to do.
I'll give it a look this weekend and see if I can provide a better answer, but taking a quick look it might that those are being filtered out via the filters tab. As mentioned taking a quick look, I have an account with multiple trustlines and I'm able to pull all the transactions for each, including SOLO.. So not sure why you wouldn't have those coming through off hand..
If you are having issues, perhaps try reaching out to the developer XRPL365 ( twitter.com/xrpl365/ )
Once I have my trust line Do I need to put my XRP on XUMM for the solo snapshot to receive solo?
I believe there's a ratio or minimum requirement to be held to be eligible, but you would need to read up more on the airdrop to be sure.
See here for more info: sologenic.medium.com/solo-token-dex-nft-marketplace-and-airdrop-e29ca52446bf
Hi, thank you for the great video it was very useful. One question, is there only one deposit address for all assets? I want to send my solo onto the xumm wallet. I've already set up the solo token on the wallet with trustline. Thanks a lot!
Hi Louis,
No problem, glad you found it helpful. Yes thats correct, the r-address on the XUMM homescreen is your address for all XRPL assets/tokens in that account.
@@Codeward thanks a lot. We all know what happens if I send it to the wrong address! All the best 🙌🏼
@@Codeward You are a great teacher!!
Hi thanks for info. So are their any tax implications when swapping a asset to and from XRP? Example: Solo to XRP and then off ramp to coinbase?
How do you send XRP using the QR code if you only have it on one device?
QR codes are usually for multi-device use, like phone and computer.
For sending on the same device you would just copy the r-address and tag if applicable.
Thanks 🙏
No problem 🍻
Is the Xumm wallet only to be used on a smart phone?
XUMM is a mobile only wallet, yes. You can load it on a phone, or tablet/iPad.
How to find my family seed or Menomic pharse. Plz tell me
XUMM doesn't have a way to extract the seed or mnemonic for security reasons; this is given when you set up an account in XUMM.
Each XRP account has it's own seed/mnemonic.
If it was created in XUMM, it would be 8 groups of 6 numbers, labeled A-H.
Other wallets like Ledger, Trezor, etc, use 12/24 word mnemonics depending.
Whichever wallet you use, these should be written down at the time the wallet is created and stored in a safe place. If not, you risk losing access to your account if your device is lost or damaged.
If you've lost, or misplaced your keys and still have access to the account, I would suggest making a new account, writing down the seed/mnemonic, and moving the funds over. XUMM has an Account Merge xApp that will allow you to merge 2 accounts and recover a portion of the account reserve.
What's the advantage of setting up trust lines?
It allows you to interact with different tokens on the XRPL like Sologenic, CasinoCoin, and others. Without the trustline you can't use/store these tokens.
Is it to late to start transferring xrp just curious? Thanks love the video.
Too late? I'm not sure what you mean...
XUMM is a software wallet, there's no time constraints on sending or receiving assets to/from the wallet..
Does it matter which trust line is used to receive airdrops?
With XUMM you only have 1 address, thats the one you use to transact. Trustlines use your XRP address, but to receive an airdrop you would need the trustline for the token you want to receive.
That being said, the vast majority of the projects doing airdrops are scams, and just congesting the network. Please do your research before adding trustlines for useless tokens.
Rule of thumb: No website, unknown team, multiple issued tokens, its likely a scam, dont bother. Any project worth its merit will have a website and everything in order BEFORE they launch their token.
Can this be done with coinbase as you can't purchase on coinbase?
Sorry, I don't understand the question.
If you have XRP on Coinbase, and are able to withdraw, then yes you can activate/withdraw to the wallet. However, XUMM is an XRPL-centric wallet, so only XRP & XRPL tokens (SOLO, CSC, etc) can be withdrawn to XUMM
We got lost when you transferred 25.01 to XUMM. How to do it from Ledger Nano S or Uphold??? Please help.
From any wallet or exchange, you'd send the XRP to the r-address in XUMM on the homescreen. In my example ( 12:20 ), my address is just below where it says Crash Course.
If prompted for, or are required to add a tag, 0 or any other number will work.
Great vid. Curious to know if we need our XRP in XUMM to claim the solo airdrop?
Self custody would be the safest solution, this way you avoid the fiasco we've seen with exchanges and airdrops. Personally, yes I'll just be keeping any XRP in XUMM for the snapshot, and just making sure I have the SOLO trustline added
@@Codeward Thank you, your channel has helped me out heaps. 👍🏻look forward to more videos
@@Codeward First of, you are a FANTASTIC teacher! Second, It seems you are saying you will be keeping your personal XRP on XUMM 'just for the snapshot". Is that correct? If so, after the SOLO airdrop, will you be moving your XRP somewhere else? If so, is there a reason you can explain? Why wouldn't you leave your XRP on XUMM, as I assume it is not for safety of your xrp assets as you state the XUMM wallet is extremely safe. Thank for your answer MR TEACHER OF THE YEAR.
when sending XRP .. the TO address has a spot for designation tag ... and at the bottom there is also a "Enter public memo" (optional ) option.. what's the difference between the 2
Destination tag is used by exchanges to determine the user/account; whereas the memo field is a message field, so I can send you XRP and put "Thanks for everything"
@@Codeward thanks for the prompt response
Hello, if one creates a second account will it be linked to the original account or will they be independent from each other?
I want to maintain independent accounts under the same XUMM wallet app if possible. Thank you in advance.
Hi E7ty,
Yes, each XRP account in XUMM is it's own account with its own recovery words/keys. So if say your phone were to get wiped and you had to recover your accounts, you would need to do so individually with their respective recovery keys. XUMM is just a wallet, that holds multiple accounts; much like the wallet in your pants holds multiple cards.
@@Codeward Thank you for the great explanation! Hope all is well.
@@Codeward I have just set up my XUUM account, and have the one "R" address and the '8 rows of 6 #'s recovery numbers) I have not activated it yet with any XRP transfer in from Coinbase. Based on you above comment, will each XRPL asset inside XUMM have its own 48 number recover/keys?
Codeward is THE MAN
Ahaha thanks bud, appreciated!
@@Codeward You are an amazing teacher. The best.
How to get private key and public signing key?
Your public key is the address in XUMM at the top of the homepage r1ab2cd34.... However, XUMM is a highly secure mobile wallet that prevents exposing of private keys for security reasons. If you need to restore the wallet you would use the recovery numbers (8 groups of 6 numbers, A-H).
What’s the point of xumm? Is it to buy coins that are not listed on exchanges elsewhere ?
XUMM is an XRPL wallet and account management app. While it does have Gatehub Trade xApp, access to the XRPL DEX, and in app exchange for more liquid XRPL tokens, and many other useful tools and xApps; the primary focus is being the most secure and feature rich XRPL wallet.
Developed by Wietse Wind and the team at XRPL Labs.
Yh but how do u withdraw funds to your bank account
You would need to use an off ramp (exchange) like Gatehub, Uphold, or any other number of exchanges that still support XRP.
hello, thank you , there is a desktop aplication for my computer?
No, XUMM is mobile only for security reasons. However XRP accounts live on the XRP Ledger, not your wallet, so you can import it into a desktop wallet but this decreases the security
@@Codeward oh now I understand, thank you.
Great
Thanks bud
OK to the previous question. I had 7 xrp token left I exchanged it for 5.5 SOLO token. I see you can exchange xrp for other. Once i get more trustline tokens i can then exchange between trustlines without having to spend more xrp tokens right? Thank you.
I can't see the last question asides my notification tab, if I click it, it just doesn't seem to exist... For some reason youtube has been cutting messages off on me
To answer you question here:
Yes, and no. You can switch between XRPL tokens like CSC/CX1/SOLO, etc., however it would usually involve trading the token for XRP, then for the token you want. However keep in mind that each transaction uses XRP for gas, so you will need to make sure to have a little bit of XRP to at least cover the tx fee (usually 0.000012 XRP unless network is congested)
@@Codeward Thank you. I was surprise your at the time of your video Xumm was using 20 token as reserve. Theyve lowered it to 10 xrp tokens.
No problem. Yea, I made the video maybe a week or 2 before the reserve update (should have waited in hindsight)...
I'll have to add a disclaimer or something in the video description 😅
Is Xumm a safe wallet to hold XRP? Is it one of the best wallets for holding XRP thanks!
I personally trust XUMM more than I do my Ledger Nano. XRPL Labs' primary focus is security, and after using XUMM for a few years now, it's my go to wallet.
If you're looking for a cold wallet solution that works with XUMM, look into Tangem cards that are offered by the XRPL Labs ( xrpl-labs.com/tangem/product ). These cards essentially are a cold wallet solution for XUMM, which would require the card to be able to transact. So even if someone got a hold of your phone and XUMM access password; they'd still need the card to sign a transaction.
Can you please explain how to set up Xumm on a laptop
You can't, XUMM is mobile only for security reasons. If you're adamant on doing so, your best option is to use an android emulator, but by doing do, you forgo many of the security features and benefits
How to move from XUMM to a hard wallet? Thx
Which hardware wallet are you trying to move to?
- D'Cent offers native support for XRPL tokens
- Ledger Nano doesn't support natively, however connecting to XRPToolkit will solve this: ruclips.net/video/ro9mWrH96as/видео.html
- Trezor and other non-supporting wallets: Import the account into XUMM, add the trustline (if applicable), move funds, then remove the account from XUMM.
I have a question you mentioned if you imported from another decentralized exchange or wallet the secret phrases will be the same from the previous wallet is that true? Cause I imported my coins from a Casino Coin wallet into XUMM I was never given the option to copy any secret phrase, now I want to switch from read only-full excess in XUMM and the secret phrases I had from my Casino Coin wallet doesn’t work for XUMM so that I could make the change…. Please assist
Hi Jeffrey,
This is the one case thats not true as that account was imported from a different network. To do that, you'd need to follow my other video "How to recover your CasinoCoin account in XUMM" here: ruclips.net/video/fVeOKCOsKpM/видео.html
If it says that the account already exists, remove it from XUMM, and reimport it as full access.
@@Codeward Hi Codeward,
Your videos are awesome, very helpful.
Thank you for getting back to me. My CSC coins does show in my XUMM wallet however it’s in read only so I’m unable to swap them or withdraw. I was successful with moving them from the CSC wallet-XUMM Wallet at the time of the Casino Coin changes. The secret phrases I had were only the phrases I obtained from the casino coin app which I had on my Mobil device. I never had a option on XUMM for any new phrases… Please assist with any suggestions on how to convert my XUMM wallet from read only to full access.. Also just so I mention I have a screenshot of the my Casino Coin address if that would be helpful to know…. Thanks again
thanks for the info man..
do you also know how to reset the sign-in password??
No problem
To reset the XUMM sign in password, go to Settings -> Security -> Change Password. However you will need to know the initial password to change it.
If you forgot the password, you'll probably need to uninstall/reinstall XUMM, but make sure you have your backup keys before doing this else risk losing your funds.
To reset the password on an individual account, make sure you have the recovery keys for that account, and then remove it via Settings -> Accounts -> Account -> Remove from XUMM. Then reimport it to reset the password.

Hey thank you for your time & the video! I'm trying to setup a trustline on my Nano x, but I'm still a bit confused on how I would know the Xumm trust line is successfully connected to my Nano X to receive the airdrops. Is it okay that I decided to create a brand new account instead of "Importing an existing account" by using the Nano x? I figured brand new account was the right decision, since I've never used the Xumm app before. I believe I created a trustline successfully, but by sending some XRP to the Xumm app from my Nano x just to activate it...is that ok? I didn't send all of my xrp to xumm though! Do I need to send all of my xrp to xumm? I hear most ppl say leave it in the nano wallet...lol...I guess I'm just not understanding how the trustline is connecting to my Nano ledger if I didn't create/import a Xumm account with my Nano x...hopefully I make sense & you can respond before the 24th haha...thnx!
Hi Eliott,
Sounds like you're setting up for the Sologenic airdrop. That being the case, I have another video called "Transacting with CasinoCoin on Ledger Nano with XRPToolkit", while geared to CSC the same principle applies to solo or adding the trustlines and so forth. This way you can interact directly with your Ledger with the XRPL token ecosystem.
The difference between the 2: Ledger is a hardware & cold storage wallet, XUMM is a software wallet & considered a hot wallet, although is one of the most secure software wallets out there.
@@Codeward Thank you for such quick response! Saved my ass LOL
@@Codeward Sorry one last question lol, since I have the hardware wallet, I've decided to do the xrp toolkit instead...therefore I don't need to do both xumm & xrp toolkit correct? Just one of the trust lines is fine? Kind of a dumb question, but I just want to make sure lol...Also, If I don't need the xumm hot wallet trust line, is it possible to close the account on xumm & send all of my xrp back to my hardware wallet, including the 10 xrp that was needed to activate the account? It seems like I can only send back the rest of my xrp, but the 10 xrp that the xumm account needs to stay activated. I know there has got to be a way, but I can't seem to figure it out just yet...even after I closed the solo token trust line within the xumm app, the xumm account is still holding 10 xrp for the account. So in a nutshell...I just want to send all of my xrp back to my nano x, since I did the other trust line method you showed! Thnx again!!!
Hi Elliot,
Apologies for the delay, I wasn't notified for this reply..
So no, you don't need both wallets if you don't want. So yes, you can close out the XUMM account, and I have a tutorial video here: ruclips.net/video/nd7jKTaR5iw/видео.html that explains the Account Merge/Delete process. Note that the video is a bit older so it does reference the reserve being 20 XRP, but it was updated to 10 as you mentioned. Just make sure to remove any trustlines, and/or open trades as any pending obligations on the account will prevent the account from being deleted.
@@Codeward No Problem! I hope your New Year went well...I commented on your other video...respond when you can no rush! :) The important part is the solo airdrop...which is done. I am just trying to understand how this app works, if I ever need to use it again in the near future.
how you can get the 20 XRP again?
Hi Ghost_Max,
The reserve was updated shortly after this video was released to only 10 XRP, so the other 10 would have been made as part of your available balance. To recover the 10 remaining reserve, it would involve deleting your XRP account. You can find instructions for that here: ruclips.net/video/nd7jKTaR5iw/видео.html
Note that both these videos are older, so they do reference the reserve as being 20 instead of 10; however, the reserve is indeed 10.
Also make sure to remove any trustlines and/or open trades as any outstanding obligations on your account will block the account from being able to be merged/deleted.
I’m trying to send xrp from my trust wallet but is not letting me
That's odd, what's the error you're getting?
If it is requiring a tag, just use 0 or some arbitrary number. Tags don't matter for sending to personal wallets, only to exchanges.
how do i import this to sologenic?
Like connect XUMM to sologenic DEX UI? Or import the XRP account into the sologenic wallet?
Where do you find the destination tag? I want to transfer XRP from my exchange to the XUMM wallet
XUMM is a non-custodial wallet, so you don't need one. If the exchange forces a destination tag, use 0 or any other arbitrary number.
Exchanges use destination tag to determine which user the funds belong to, but for non-custodial wallets like XUMM, Ledger, D'Cent, Trezor, Ellipal, etc., you don't need a tag as you own the keys to the account
Thank you so much for replying. Great video by the way
How do get ya cash and take it out when you sell your tokens etc for fiat currency (euro, pounds, dollars)? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Could you please do a simple step by step instruction video showing how to transfer XRP coins held in a XUMM wallet to an XRP account held on an exchange such as Coinspot or Binance etc etc. I hope you can please help. Thank you
Hi Luke, I have a video here on how to transfer CasinoCoin to Bitrue from XUMM. Moving XRP (and other tokens) is the same principle, just make sure you have both your address AND TAG when depositing to an exchange: ruclips.net/video/DTltmYDDWMk/видео.html
Let me know if you have questions or get stuck 🍻
Do I buy from an exchange? then transfer, and how secure is XUMM.....do i need to do anything to secure XRP on xumm........?
XUMM is one of the most secure software wallets going, I trust them completely. Yes, or you can on/off ramp in XUMM, but if you go via exchange then you'd just setup XUMM and create an account to deposit to
@@Codeward Thankyou, very kind, so if i had say eg Kraken exchange on my phone device, and transferred xrp from that Kraken exchange to my XUMM app/wallet I can do this from one device ie my phone, I ask because this was not shown and he transferred XRP from another device to his xumm wallet in the video,....I have a laptop which is goosed and won't download anything, but so long as I have both kraken and xumm on my mobile I can do it off one device?, sorry to sound an idiot, but tech and phones are not my field all, as you can tell, thanks for your time its very much appreciated......jk...uk
how do I deposit Solo into my Xumm wallet from bitrue exchange ?? theres no address ...
Your XRP address is used for all tokens on the XRPL, as long as you have the trustline setup for the associated asset, you send to XUMM using the r-address on the homepage.
You can reference the video below where I withdraw CasinoCoin from Bitrue to XUMM, same principle applies for SOLO: ruclips.net/video/xOOVmCemfQ4/видео.html
@@Codeward Nice !! Thanks for the quick response ..
Can you cash out xrp from your xumm acct?
XUMM doesn't have a direct on/off ramp (yet), XRPLLabs is working on one starting in the Netherlands. Currently the best options are:
- Transfer to an exchange with offrakp capabilities
- Connect a Gatehub account and off ramp through GH (I have a video that goes over this called "importing your Gatehub account into XUMM")
doesn't tell you how to withdrawal from umm to another wallet , i choose amount and put address but cannot continue the button is not lit up
Sending to another wallet is pretty straight forward. When you put the address in, it shpuld populate in the main area, tap the account that comes up, and hit next.
Otherwise, see my other video "depositing from XUMM to Bitrue"
What is a trust line?
Hi Russ,
A trust line is a line of trust added to your XRP account to interact with another currency. For example, if you add Gatehub USD, this is a trustline that you've added. Other examples could be CasinoCoin, Sologenic, ChorusX, etc.
Hopefully that helps, if not, check this video here: ruclips.net/video/bN-duBTDVFc/видео.html
Is xumm have cold vault?
XUMM is a software/hot wallet, however with a Tangem card, you can essentially make it a cold wallet for the account tied to the tangem card
Was there any information on how the interest works with XUMM ?
Interest, I'm not sure what you mean? 🤔
Does Gatehub offer interest? If so and you import the account to XUMM, I would think that you would still get the interest as you've not done anything asides provide XUMM access to your Gatehub account
@@Codeward does XUMM not pay up to 8% how is that paid daily weekly monthly ?
@@Deepsleepsoundsplay no, XUMM does not pay interest; it's an XRPL wallet, not a staking platform. While XUMM is quite feature rich, there's no means of earning interest in app (at least as of yet)
Once you have downloaded a coin onto Xumm, and you click on it, and get a yield tag; what does it mean? Too it says there's a dangerous configuration, and asks if you want more info and a fix? Anyone had this before? 🧐
It's just a warning from the XUMM team letting you know that you should be careful adding assets from random/unknown projects as there's been a massive influx of scam tokens and rug pulls on the XRP Ledger. So this is just a warning message to let you know that you should only add a trustline for projects that you trust.
Cool, just a little gun shy. Better safe than sorry. Thanks a bunch.
Can you send xrp to the XUMM wallet then swap xrp for Casino coin? Cheers 🍻
Yes you can, however direct exchange in XUMM is a market trade and dependant on a tight spread. If the spread between buys and sells is too big it won't allow exchange in app to protect against a raw deal. In which case, just connect to xrptoolkit.com and use limit trades. (I have another video on this)
@@Codeward thanks heaps
Are you going to do a video on the tangum cards?
Hi @tyzzyo,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
I do intend to make a few more videos, however at the moment my laptop won't allow it due to faulty components resulting in overheating.
I've recently "upgraded" my knowledge on the tangem cards, and am looking forward to putting a video together, but alas, I'm waiting for replacement parts right now..
Thank you kindly for your response! Look forward to seeing a new video when you’re up and running.
I’ll wait to apply my Tangum Cards, I’d prefer to get as much info before I proceed.
Thanks again! 🙏
Trust line for the solo token was unknown is that normal?? Thnx..
No, SOLO is offered directly in XUMM... you shouldn't need to add it from anywhere else
Sorry new to crypto only been in it for a year ,Well I wanted to buy solo from within the XUMM wallet and the token was there to add should delete?
It's all good, no worries if you already added Solo within XUMM, then to buy, you can do so either by tapping the asset and hitting "Exchange", or by using the menu (bottom middle xumm icon) use the Dex xApp to trade using limit trades.
Is my xrp safe on xumm when cyber attack happen?
Depends on the type of cyber attack.
The XUMM/XRPLLabs team make security their top priority, so XUMM is one the most secure software wallets out there, it would take an immense skillset to be able to extract keys. That being said, cold storage is still more secure.
Going from least to most secure (in terms of cyber attack):
- Browser extension wallets (MetaMask)
- Software wallets (phone apps)
- Hardware wallets
- Airgapped wallets (no access to internet)
Further more, to explain better: Your XRP account lives on the XRP Ledger, not actually in any wallet. Wallets just house your keys which give you the ability to sign transactions, so your keys are the most important thing.
how many xumm can we have ?
You can have multiple XRP accounts in XUMM. Tbh, I'm not sure if there's a limit to the number of accounts, I have 5 or so..
Xumm did not give me a “Tag” just the wallet address. Now I’m stuck
XUMM is a non-custodial wallet, you don't need a tag to withdraw to it. What do you need a tag for?
If an exchange is forcing you to use a tag to withdraw to XUMM, you can put any number, most default 0. If you're moving funds from XUMM to exchange, the exchange will provide one in the deposit info. Exchanges use tags to differentiate users and will provide one, but as you own the XRP account in XUMM, you don't need a tag unless you run code to use it for something.
Where is the logout button?
Or do you just flick the app off the phone screen. Cheers Steve.
Hi Steve,
XUMM doesn't have a log out button per se, however every time you load it up a password or bio scan is required to unlock (which ever you set up).
@@Codeward
Cheers mate thanks 👌
I’ve Got Exumm cards too❤
20 min. required Xumm wallet says 10 required. I'm not sure why.
Hey there, the video was made/posted before the reserve requirements were updated. Since then, yes the required minimum was lowered.
Apologies for any confusion.
Great video how can i change trustline limit please
You can edit it with xrptoolkit.com, otherwise you can also do so using xrpl.services, I have another video based on trustlines and assets where I show this, iirc
@@Codeward thanks
CODEWARD IS THE MAN
😊 Just doing what I can to help educate..
@@Codeward you’ve helped me across multiple platforms brother!! GREATLY appreciated!
No problem bud :)
So if I ever wanted to deleted a xrp wallet do you get the 20 reserve back?
You get 15/20, 5 is burnt as a fee to delete the account. This is an anti-spam feature of the XRP Ledger itself, not soecific to XUMM
@@Codeward so can this be done on a coinbase wallet?
If you got recovery words or a secret key; then yes, just import into XUMM and use the Account Merge tool.
@@Codeward thanks I will give this a go
@@Codeward hi mate I tried to import my coinbase wallet to xumm however after I put my 12 pass phrase in, it goes to set it up with a different address and still asks for 20 xrp? The coinbase wallet already has 20 in reserve so wouldn't of thought I need to put another 20 in it in order to import any help?
I hold XRP in Uphold. I attempted to transfer 25.01 XRP to the XUMM account that has not yet been verified. "Sorry, no results matching your criteria". Uphold will not transfer to the inactive XUMM account. I took a picture of the XUMM account QR code and attempted to transfer from Uphold to the QR code as well, also unsuccessful. What am I missing?
Hi Paul,
It seems that Uphold prevents activation of new XRP accounts, being the account isn't activated it appears as "not existing", so Uphold prevents deposits to the address.
A work around for this is either to:
1. Activate the account using another already active account
2. Activate using another exchange that supports account activation
3. If you have a friend you can trust, send them the activation amount (10 XRP min) and have them activate/deposit the account for you.
Did you ever figure it out? Cuz I was gonna try to set up a xumm wallet and do the same
can i send my xrp out of xumm wallet back to my nano x?
Yes, XUMM is like a mobile version of Ledger Nano, difference being that Ledger nano is a hardware wallet that holds multiple currencies, XUMM is an XRPL wallet, and only holds XRPL based coins
@@Codeward thank you for the reply!
Plis tutorial buya and sell misther
I have a basic one below using xrptoolkit, and also working on final edits for another video that should be up soon that covers a few different ways

thanks more infos , how to take the wallet address of coins like shibanft
Hey there, glad I could help.
All XRPL tokens/coins use the XRP address, so whether shibanft, casinocoin, equilibrium, or other XRP Ledger tokens, they all use the same r-address you use for XRP (the one at the top of XUMM homescreen).
@@Codeward i see so if i enter to vanity address many shibanft appearing how to know if i will select 1 address will it successfully reflect to my account? thanks
@@marissabanatao1455 I'm not sure I quite understand...
If you have a vanity address like rMarissa[...] for example, that is your address for that account. XUMM is a wallet and can hold multiple accounts, each account has its own address, so you'd need to be on the account you want to receive funds on, and use that address.
Example: I have 2 accounts: rTipjar[...] & rSavings[...]. If I want funds to go to rTipjar, I'd use that address, if I want funds in ravings, I'd use that one...
Om not good at english, should i send my xrp here from trust wallet?
XUMM is an XRP focused wallet.
You can leave your funds in Trust wallet, or you can setup a XUMM wallet. You can even import your Trust wallet into XUMM if you wanted, either way works.
On so this wallet is better
I would say that, in my opinion, XUMM is more secure as it's not susceptible to sim swap attacks.
Is transferring my XRP to XUMM keeping my crypto safe from hackers?
Transferring your XRP from an exchange to XUMM is safer than storing it on an exchange, yes.
XUMM is one of the most secure software wallets, paired with a Tangem card as a cold storage solution you have an all in one package:
- Account tracking & management via XUMM
- Sign transactions using Tangem card (cold wallet solution for XUMM)
While I have I have Tangem cards for cold storage, I honestly don't use them (haven't even set them up), personally I trust XUMM & the XRPLLabs team as security is the top priority in their development.
Xuum wallet vs ledger Nano ?
Depends, on your use.
XUMM is a mobile feature rich wallet, but is also a "hot wallet". Combined with Tangem card (imo) provides a solid layer of security making it more a "warm wallet". However that still has it's drawbacks.
Ledger is a cold storage solution, which I would use more for long term storage, not everyday use. If you're sending funds from Ledger constantly, you're sort of defeating the purpose of it, again just my opinion.
@@Codeward great thank you. I hear rumours of ledger nano potentially failing. I do like the fact that XUUM is by XRPLLabs. Had a scare with ledger ( laptop not recognizing my nano ) so been looking for alternatives! Maybe keeping XRP in 2 wallets instead of just ledger Nano
@@corazonesoterico fair enough, I have my own issues with Ledger, had to move and change my number 🤬
Although as long as you have your 12/24 recovery words you should be good. Your XRP account "lives" on the XRPL, not the wallet. The wallet is just an access point
Wallet reserve is now 10 Xrp and 2 Xrp for each trust line. ...
I'm aware. This video was put out right before the reserve update, I would need to edit and upload it as a new video for the correction and would result in a broken link for many folk who share this existing video
You lost me after you brought up QR code and physical device. Do I need a computer?
No this can all be done via mobile, I was just using 2 devices for ease of the demo. If you're meaning at the 13 min mark, I pull up the QR code, this is just for the public address, which you can copy and use to deposit from an exchange or another XRP account.
