    Hi Codeward. I do not have the "explain" option on my Xumm wallet. Do I have buy something other than XRP before it pops up? Am I able to purchase RLUSD and add to my Xumm? If so would you have the trustline please? Thank you in advance.

      @@tracycampanaro9004 hi there, this video is a bit dated as XUMM has gone through several updates since (and also rebranded to Xaman). However you can tap the ○ with the "i" in it beside "Reserved" in the XRP line item. That said, RLUSD has not been issued on the ledger yet. There was a test and all that was issued was been burnt. I dont have the trustline off hand as its not been officially released. Hope this help 🍻

    So absolutely no teason to have btc in this wallet as its not the actual asset its an iou, just keep it in cold storage for exactly what it is, real self custody not a digital version of fiat I.e a promissory note.

    • @Codeward

      Not true, then why have BTC issued on any other chain like ETH, SOL,.. (they're still IOUs)? I can think of a few use cases for having the BTC IOU: - Trading XRP/BTC via the XRPL DEX (fast and low fees) - Faster settlement of trade/payment -> I owe buddy $720 worth of BTC*, so I trade for 0.01 BTC on XRPL and send him that. I've paid what I owe and don't have to worry about price tanking while waiting for BTC network to settle my payment (I've waited upwards of 6hrs). Then buddy can withdraw if he wishes, or convert to something else, or use it where accepted. - XRPL focused business that accepts BTC, ETH, XRP, etc.,: User makes BTC payment to business's Gatehub address, business is deposited BTC IOU. Now business can trade that for XRP, USD, USDT, or other, (for the example we'll use XRP) which can then be sent to preferred off ramp faster and cheaper than sending BTC. Edit: After thought -> IOU tokens in combination with XRPL pathfinding are also a means of providing liquidity to the network, allowing trades to be made while reducing slippage. For me personally, it's not a matter of holding BTC on the XRPL, but using of it; hence the video title: "Utilizing" Bitcoin on the XRPL[...]

    If I import from my ledger to xumm and give full access, does that mean I'll no longer be able to recover my account using my ledger?

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 9 месяцев назад

      No, you'll still be able to recover using your Ledger, it just means: - your account is available in both wallets - you lose the security of knowing which wallet was compromised should anything ever happen Ledger is a cold wallet, mainly used for storage, not day to day transactions. While I trust XUMM more than Ledger personally, its a software/mobile wallet which is generally used as a "hot wallet". However, i gave up on my Ledger and just stick to XUMM personally... Just remember: Your XRP account lives on the XRP Ledger, not the wallet. The wallet is just a means to interact with your account.

      Hey there, sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification for this... weird. To answer your question, yes, you can transfer all using one device. - First, open XUMM and copy your r-address (assuming account created, else create one). - On Kraken/Coinbase/etc., you'd log into your account, and select XRP then withdraw - When entering details, recipient would be your XUMM address, if it asks for a tag you can use 0 or any other number as it's a self-custody wallet (tag is needed to deposit to exchange). I have another video that may help, it is for CSC via Bitrue, but the principle is the same for XRP and other exchanges (Fees will differ): How to Withdraw CSC from Bitrue: ruclips.net/video/xOOVmCemfQ4/видео.html How to Deposit CSC to Bitrue: ruclips.net/video/DTltmYDDWMk/видео.html Let me know if this helps, or if you have other questions.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      Hey there, which password? To open XUMM or to sign a transaction? If to open XUMM, it likely will require a reinstall of XUMM. Please be sure to have ALL your private keys in order before proceeding as each account will need to be reimported individually. If to sign a transaction, there's 2 options: 1. Try and figure out the password. You should have unlimited tries unless you set the limit in the settings (check first via: Settings->Security and make sure the "Erase Data" toggle is off, if off then just keep guessing, else see option 2). 2. Reimport the account. IMPORTANT: Please make sure you have your associated private key/seed before proceeding (this is 12/24 words, 8 groups of 6 numbers, or a string of characters starting with 's'). If you have your private key/seed, then remove the account from XUMM, and reimport using the add account option, and import existing. This will allow you to set a new password on the account. NOTE: Each XRP account has a private key/seed. Reimporting a seed/private key will restore 1 XRP account/r-address, which is the one associated to that key. Let me know if you have further questions

    imagine a trust line costing $500😅😅 damn

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      $500.. how so? A trustline currently has a reserve of 2 XRP, which is $0.92 atm? Which you'd also have "unreserved/returned" if you removed the trustline, so it actually doesn't cost anything except the network fee to add/remove it. That said, the reserves required would adjust with market conditions, as with the update from 20/5 to 10/2 when David Schwartz iirc put the proposal to update the reserves if XRP held over $1 for a month or something like that... All it takes is a proposal, and the validators to agree (and hold their vote for 2 weeks) and the reserves would be updated to match market conditions.

      Hi Melvin, apologies for the delay. When you perform the account merge, an account delete takes place which costs 2 XRP and is burnt (previously it was 5 before the reserves updated). Although the video references the old reserve balances, this is explained at approx the 4:10 mark.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      Hey thanks, glad it helped. So your CSC is not actually on XRPToolkit, it's stored in the the XRP account on your Ledger. XRPToolkit is just an interface to the XRP Ledger to show and interact with your account. If you want to view your assets (XRP tokens like CSC) that are stored on your Ledger, you can input your XRP address (rAbc123...) into xrpscan.com or bithomp.com. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    • @devon417

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      That's correct, Ledger doesn't have support for XRPL Tokens except XRP itself, so it won't show the CSC on your Ledger, but your CSC is in the account. If you were to connect to XRPToolkit, or download XUMM (or other XRP-centric wallet) and import the account as read only (load the public key), or even load your address in XRPScan, it would show your token balances, CSC included. Sorry for the delay, I don't get notifications for comment replies.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      No, the XRP Ledger is a different network than Ethereum. If you're trying to store ERC-20 tokens available in XUMM via Gatehub like GALA, USDT, etc., then you'd need to on-ramp those tokens onto the XRPL using Gatehubs Service. For more info, check out my other video about using Bitcoin on the XRPL

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward Год назад

      Hi Entimos, In order to send other tokens to your XRP account/address, you first need to add the associated trustline. If you try to send to your XRP address without the trustline, the transaction will fail. You won't lose the funds, it just won't send; you'll get a "trustline not set" error.

    Stupid question: When trading on the XRP Toolkit with a limit order, the price field will not allow enough digits after the decimal but I see that it has for other traders. For example, I want to enter a sell price of 0.000000001 but the price field will only allow 0.000001. What am I doing wrong?

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      No question is stupid if you learn something from it 😉 That's a very good question, it would be for one of 2 reasons: 1. The order placed was done programmatically (with code), and resulted price is from division of XRP vs token quantity 2. Order was placed on a DEX UI that allows for more decimals like Sologenic which allows 12 decimals points If you're trying to add more decimal values, try using Sologenic's UI via sologenic.org/trade. You can log in with XUMM just like XRPToolkit.

      I personally trust XUMM more than I do my Ledger Nano. XRPL Labs' primary focus is security, and after using XUMM for a few years now, it's my go to wallet. If you're looking for a cold wallet solution that works with XUMM, look into Tangem cards that are offered by the XRPL Labs ( xrpl-labs.com/tangem/product ). These cards essentially are a cold wallet solution for XUMM, which would require the card to be able to transact. So even if someone got a hold of your phone and XUMM access password; they'd still need the card to sign a transaction.

If an exchange is forcing you to use a tag to withdraw to XUMM, you can put any number, most default 0. If you're moving funds from XUMM to exchange, the exchange will provide one in the deposit info. Exchanges use tags to differentiate users and will provide one, but as you own the XRP account in XUMM, you don't need a tag unless you run code to use it for something.

So not sure why you wouldn't have those coming through off hand.. If you are having issues, perhaps try reaching out to the developer XRPL365 ( twitter.com/xrpl365/ )

    Hi I wonder how I can receive core token on my xumm wallet any suggestions I create trust line but I don’t see address

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      If you have the CORE trustline added, then the receiving address is your XRP address, like in the video for CSC. Your XRP r-address in XUMM is the address used for receiving all XRPL tokens, not just XRP. So if you're sending an XRPL token to your XUMM wallet, whether CSC, SOLO, CORE, CX1 or others, it's always the r-address you would use.

    Is my xrp safe on xumm when cyber attack happen?

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      Depends on the type of cyber attack. The XUMM/XRPLLabs team make security their top priority, so XUMM is one the most secure software wallets out there, it would take an immense skillset to be able to extract keys. That being said, cold storage is still more secure. Going from least to most secure (in terms of cyber attack): - Browser extension wallets (MetaMask) - Software wallets (phone apps) - Hardware wallets - Airgapped wallets (no access to internet) Further more, to explain better: Your XRP account lives on the XRP Ledger, not actually in any wallet. Wallets just house your keys which give you the ability to sign transactions, so your keys are the most important thing.

      The Account Merge is pretty straight forward; however I may have over explained things a bit, but essentially its: 1. Remove any trustlines/obligations from the account you want to delete 2. Open Account Merge xApp 3. Select and sign the account you want to delete 4. Select and sign the account the funds will go to 5. Sign the Account Delete Transaction 6. Removed deleted account from XUMM (optional, but recommended) If you have any questions or need help, let me know

    How to move from XUMM to a hard wallet? Thx

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      Which hardware wallet are you trying to move to? - D'Cent offers native support for XRPL tokens - Ledger Nano doesn't support natively, however connecting to XRPToolkit will solve this: ruclips.net/video/ro9mWrH96as/видео.html - Trezor and other non-supporting wallets: Import the account into XUMM, add the trustline (if applicable), move funds, then remove the account from XUMM.

    How to find my family seed or Menomic pharse. Plz tell me

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      XUMM doesn't have a way to extract the seed or mnemonic for security reasons; this is given when you set up an account in XUMM. Each XRP account has it's own seed/mnemonic. If it was created in XUMM, it would be 8 groups of 6 numbers, labeled A-H. Other wallets like Ledger, Trezor, etc, use 12/24 word mnemonics depending. Whichever wallet you use, these should be written down at the time the wallet is created and stored in a safe place. If not, you risk losing access to your account if your device is lost or damaged. If you've lost, or misplaced your keys and still have access to the account, I would suggest making a new account, writing down the seed/mnemonic, and moving the funds over. XUMM has an Account Merge xApp that will allow you to merge 2 accounts and recover a portion of the account reserve.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      Hey there, sorry for the delayed reply. If you're sending from an exchange to XUMM, then no destination tag is required. If they force one, just put 0 or some other number (it won't affect things for personal wallets). The only time a destination tag is required is sending funds to an exchange, then you don't want to forget it.. Security is XRPLLabs top priority, as such yes it is safe. There's no way to extract your seed phrase or anything from the wallet, admittedly I trust XUMM more than I do Ledger.. but that's just my personal opinion

      You can do this 2 ways: 1. Read Only: Enter your address/public key (r1ba2c3...) into the account recovery section for read only access for monitoring 2. Full Access: In account recovery, use your 12/24 words in XUMM to import the account. (Not recommend as this negates the point of using the Ledger) Let me know if this helps.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      Transferring your XRP from an exchange to XUMM is safer than storing it on an exchange, yes. XUMM is one of the most secure software wallets, paired with a Tangem card as a cold storage solution you have an all in one package: - Account tracking & management via XUMM - Sign transactions using Tangem card (cold wallet solution for XUMM) While I have I have Tangem cards for cold storage, I honestly don't use them (haven't even set them up), personally I trust XUMM & the XRPLLabs team as security is the top priority in their development.

    • @Codeward
      @Codeward 2 года назад

      Hi Spartachris, I believe I just replied via Twitter, however if not: Sorry for the delay, so from the sounds of it, you had a second address that was created separate from the swap account. Was that account created in XUMM or imported from the old CSC wallet as well? If it was created in XUMM, then you should have a recovery key for that account which XUMM uses 8 groups of 6 numbers (A-H). The with XUMM wallet holding multiple XRP accounts, each account has it's own recovery key/words. So when you recover, you need to recover each account individually.

    • @Codeward

      It allows you to interact with different tokens on the XRPL like Sologenic, CasinoCoin, and others. Without the trustline you can't use/store these tokens.
