- Murudeshwar beach located about 160 KM from Mangalore in North Karnataka is a popular tourist attraction because of the world’s second tallest statue of Lord Shiva, the tall Gopuram of Murudeshwar temple and the availability of decent accommodation near and facing the beach. The feeling that one gets by the site of the giant Shiva effigy looking from the beach, is awe-inspiring. The place is within walking distance from Murudeswara railway station and bus stop. Besides being a tourist attraction, it is a well known pilgrimage center as well in North Karnataka. Other than tourists, hundreds of local population visit Murudeshwar every day for the Darshan of Lord Shiva in Murudeshwar Temple. Unlike every beaches, this Beach is full of water sports and adventure.! You have almost all sorts of small water sports available here. And it's safe to take a ride also. They take good care of yourself and Family with breath taking adventures. But it needs to be cleaned. The beach is stretched pretty long and one can enjoy the sunset with evening walk. The water is also not so clean to take bath...but above all you can enjoy fullest.
