These movies have the same problem. Any symbiote not venom gets killed off and that's a poor way to do them especially Carnage.
EXACTLY. Riot is understandable cause he's whatever. But how do you kill off one of the most popular marvel villains ever?? Carnage is just as important and popular as Venom!
@@stickybunnn I know Carnage is my favorite of the 2 and for them to be able to defeat him because Carnage and Kassidy are not fully bonded was BS. The reason Carnage is so much stronger than Venom is due to Carnage and Cletus being fully bonded so using I/Me/ etc.. whereas Venom uses the We because him and Eddie are not one being.
if you think Carnage is "dead" I think you need to get into your "comic book logic" thinking cap.

Ya but there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s like Cap vs Iron Man in a sense. WE KNOW nobody’s gonna die and they’ll come together later, but if it’s written decent, it’s fine. and honestly I’m just gonna be happy that we actually get Spider-Man and Venom together.

For a fact the reason they made this PG-13, was soley for Spider-Man
They did the same for first Venom film. Where the 2nd post credits scene is a sneak peak on Into the Spider-Verse film.
That has been debunked it was PG13 to save them money. They could switch the movies to PG13 with Spider-Man. But these movies are about venom. The studio didn’t believe in a rated R venom.

Shriek was fucking lame, a McGuffin just to defeat Carnage in the end and to have a sudden change of heart. You mean to tell me her and Carnage go around fucking everything up but she wouldn't let Carnage kill Ann? Lmao. Also not having Cletus/Carnage symbiotic down to their blood level was complete dogshit.
Carnage should of been top dog in this movie but they ended up ruining him in the final fight.

In the comics, carnage and Cletus are so crazy and similar that they don't say we , they say I because the symbiosis is so strong

Yeah bro I was thinking that I’m not super into the comics but I know that when it comes to carnage. Cletus and carnage are one and the same
Indeed, they are the PERFECT symbiote. In fact, their bond is so strong, it parallel's perfectly with Venom and Eddie because Venom just needs a host. Eddie is the one desperate for the symbiote -- their bond is a one sided stockholm syndrome. They messed that up majorly, along with his voice. His voice and size irritated me. He's supposed to be lean and sound high pitched and psychotic. If they would've fixed those two things and got rid of Shriek entirely, I would've loved this film.
and when are you guys unterstanding that a movie adaptation DOES NOT need to use already used story lines and lore. MAYBE they want to create something different? For example Venom beeing in the MCu now is a smart move. dont get me wrong the movie was not great but fun to watch. i just see everytime people complaining "hey in the comics they did this so the movie is not good" separate these things thank you.

I don’t like the fact that they made Carnage to have two different beings. Since the symbiote is inside Cletus body, that would mean he takes all control of it.
Not in defense of the movie, but Carnage is much more in control of Cletus than Cletus likes to admit. He just enjoys the ride and Carnage is naturally predisposed to do things that Cletus wants to do. I remember some lines from Carnage USA hinting towards him basically suggest he doesn't know if he's ever been in control or if he's just been okay with what's happening. But he had to talk Carnage into doing that entire plot line in the first place.
I mean they were never together. They only worked together so carnage can get to venom because cletus knew where and how to get to brock. So they were never together to begin with.

Yeah I've said this a lot. Also when cletus girl all of a sudden changes her mind about killing at the end is so weird. The end was a cool fight visually, but didn't make sense. Carnage can't separate that easily.

I’m guessing toxin got on the cop while carnage was holding him hostage, but if that’s the case Ann should of got a symbiote too. And they did mess up Kassidy and carnage bond because Kassidy insane mind was supposed to be completely taking over by carnage and Kassidy doesn’t mind since all he wants to do is kill.
So the whole scene of the cop having his eyes glow doesn’t mean shit because Eddie is now in a different dimension.

Yeah. It'll be a cop-out ending in No Way Home. Spider-man will have to "do the thing" and "save teh world" by sending everyone back to their own dimension.
The amount of people that are impressed with this movie purely because it had that end credit scene is depressing. It could be the most average movie of the year but get hyped up because of that small addition 🤦♂️. Brainless fanboyism only makes the things you like get treated with less effort and respect when they know you'll happily accept whatever they put out. Being overly critical is bad being fairly critical to better the thing you love isn't.
It's also made the past 2 movies irrelevant because they can just hire a new actor for almost everybody including carnage/Kletus because of the whole variant thing lol

About time. Literally the main thing to Venom's charachter is that he desires Peter Parker as a host more than anyone, including Eddie. He considers Spider-Man as the ultimate host and his literal absolutely perfect host. That's why after Venom bonds to Eddie he still resembles Spider-Man and makes "webs" of his own.
Nah he only tuned to Peter cause Peter was his first. He imprinted on venom, and venom actually hates him because while they sync perfectly, venom blames Peter for the negative sides to his character. As at the time we were to believe that symbiotes didn't have a personality until they bonded for the first time
Eddie Brock is too awkward and tweaky here and I couldn't care less about his love life...most of the film he was just bitching anyways "I just want to have a normal life *wah*". Venom behaves like a hyper 5 year old, I just don't like this version of Venom. He's the not-so-lethal protector here since we don't really get to see him be the anti-hero and kill the bad guys. Venom's not supposed to be cute dammit lol. We get an odd-couples banter sitcom with cringe jokes all over. Wonderful. Cletus Kasady is too violent and obscene to have him be on a damn pg-13 film, hence why Carnage is way too tame in this and why I wasn't looking forward to any of these Venom films. I liked the Carnage character design but his voice sounded too close to Venom's. Oh and here's Shriek for some reason idk, might need her later. I guess we'll give Cletus Kasady a love-interest too, which is essentially an oxymoron because Kasady is supposed to be the embodiment of evil and chaos. Lovely. Final battle was underwhelming, Carnage was defeated to easily, oh coo thanks Shriek. Dammit Carnage is supposed to be OP AF. Lame. Music was meh. Visuals looked coo I guess. 3/10. I swear to god if we get Topher Grace Venom in the MCU😠...I will do nothing because I'm not in charge of IP License. I will sit there and take it like the rest of yall and write another essay that no one will read.

Venom is my all time favourite villain and I really can't care about this. Actually I hate this. There is nothing unique about Spider-Man and Venom fight if there is no development of the relationship between Peter and Eddie. It will just feel like a WWE match between two very popular wrestler. Marvel tried to do this right in Homecoming and Far From Home with the villains they used but seems like Sony doesn't care about the story at all. They just want quick money.

Another issue I had with Carnage, is that he is supposed to be intertwined with Cletus' bloodstream. I didn't like how he was separated from him at the end before he died.
And another thing. Isn't Carnage supposed to be more resistant (if not fully resistant) to loud noises, compared to Venom and other symbiotes? Why did they change that here?

No they didn’t they could change the rating when he crosses over. They went PG 13 because they didn’t believe in a rated R venom. That’s what hurt this movie Spider-Man hasn’t crossed over yet. So they didn’t have to do PG13 at all.

Well originally Venom can reproduce anytime he wants and he does not need anything... So I think they handled this one pretty good... Would be pretty dumb if he made offspring intentionally for Cletus since he is an anti-hero in these movies not an actual villain (yet) as he is in the comics.... Its pretty hard to think of different way how to create carnage when brock is not in the prison with Cletus as a prisoner....

The thing is, the spiderman broadcast is just happening when Venom appeared, but everything in the Spiderman trailer shows, Dr strange did the spell much later, possibly a few days later..so how can it be the spell? Something else?
Depending how big the story is for the media they'll keep coverage on the single story over a period of time like political stories or in this case a "major crime" or breakthrough story which it is so there we have it in context
@@isaacsmith6878 true, but movie makers wouldn't do that, making the viewer go "oh this isn't happening now but major news just being repeated days and weeks later". It's purposely chosen. I'm guessing they would want Venom to be in this universe and come to hate Spiderman, even taking his spider emblem into his design etc..via a venom 3 and then clash with Spiderman in venom 4/sinister six movie. Other factors come into play, do you let Venom know the indentity of Spiderman? Or does his memory get erased too? Does this factor in? We just have to wait and see

Not to be harsh but venom films only visually great, and fights are ok. Story, is broken
I suspect what'll happen is Venom will want to kill Toxin, because of the whole once every 10k Years a Super Symbiote is born, but is born crazy, and is afraid of what Toxin will become because of being Carnage's Spawn. So Venom will be the villain in the movie till the tail end.

My only guess about how Toxin was created is that when Shriek gouged Mulligans eye out, some of Carnages pieces flew off when Venom and him were fighting and got into his eye, and mixed with his blood. Maybe. I don't know, it was literally completely out of nowhere.
Carnage can completely reconstruct from a single drop of blood, so hopefully someone in the MCU can do something more with him

@@caleblecrow2207 No, technically he’s right. Venom 2 wasn’t made by people running the MCU and Venom wasn’t in the MCU until that post-credit scene. After Venom 2, Venom is definitely in the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but he’s not technically in the MCU unless they acknowledge Venom in some way.
Morbius has already been established as being in the same universe as well, but you can bet your ass Kevin Feige isn’t acknowledging Morbius in the MCU lol.
The MCU isn't the comics. They regularly nerf overpowered characters to not make them boring.

Guys you are thinking about this on surface level. The symbiote connected with kassedy when he bit him and chose to transfer to him. Just like it happened in the comics. Think about it, Venom has been wanting to go out there and destroy things, part of the symbiote transferred for this reason. There are far more things about this movie to not like but how he got the symbiote isn't one of them imo lol.

Venom and Carnage is my favorite comic book characters and these movies just makes sad,They could do so much more creative and serious stories with these characters but Sony keeps refusing to listen to fans and just wants some easy money every time with their lazy writing.They're trying so hard to make these movies look like its from MCU by ham fisting humor in it and not making it R rated.Tom Hardy Venom potrayal is good but we provably will never get a comic accurate Carnage ever.

This movie definitely has to many diverging points and plots to where it feels bloated. I will say I wish there were more scenes like when Eddie uses his journalism skills to find the house where Cletus and shriek stayed at, but put it more towards finding carnage after he escapes and putting clues together. All it boils down to is add a bit of batman flavor to Eddie's arsenal.
If you watch the far from home trailer you can briefly see spiderman in a black suit. Now that venom is in the mcu, perhaps he bonds with Peter temporarily, before returning to Eddie?
The suit is black and gold it's probably a mystical suit dr strange gives him
Like someone already pointed out, that's probably a magic defense suit, but at some point I can definitely see Venom temporarily being bound to Spider Man, then once he return to Eddie, Venom might finally get that white spider logo.

Other than them making Carnage like 17ft tall i agree.
So I think I can tell what makes me really like the movie is that I have not read a Carnage comic. The only intro to Carnage I had was the animated Spiderman series and the 2000 Spiderman game. So This movie was a serious step up and probably the best onscreen interpretation we're going to get.
Pat mulligan the cop in the movie is the host for toxin which I believe is carnage’s spawn.
Maybe is the same venom from the Toby films , or he recognized the sipdy suit , and he shared memories from other universe venom from the Toby film ?

Green Goblin, Doc Oc, Electro, Rino, and Vulture. Add in Venom and there ya go. Green Goblin and Doc Oc (McGuire), Electro and Rino (Garfield), and Vulture and Shocker (Holland). Venom might either be a sub for Shocker or even a potential ally to Peter. They could somehow resurrect Mysterio or maybe they don't get Giamatti back for Rino, but either way... Multiverse crossover? Actors returning? Pretty sure sinister six.
To me the cops eyes at the end were the same blue hue as Shriek and Shriek did say you can’t kill a ghost, so I imagine Shriek now inhabits the cop
Don’t worry all of the Sony properties and characters will be remade in the marvel universe. We’ll get marvels carnage one day. That’s the plan I bet.

Not sure if this is true but isn’t there a comic where carnage stayed alive in venom and starts to take over Eddie Brock until they get carnage out and he goes back to Cletus Kassidy. And now that venom is in the MCU maybe he gets away from venom and then attach himself to the Cletus Kassidy of the MCU not the one that was killed in the venom verse.

Listen the casting for Cletus Cassidy was perfect... but when I saw PG-13 I knew they weren't gonna do Carnage justice... the design of him was great to me but... I wanted Carnage to have a bit more Carnage... mans was supposed to be super OP and I don't think we got that.
This is the cartoon version of Venom. You know, for kids. The adult version hasn't been made yet, the true Venom will be rated R. Until then I'll enjoy the cartoons.

So for the post credit, i'm not sure if Venom so much has a connection to Spider-man as he thinks he can eat him. Venom wants to be a "lethal protector" and seems to enjoy fighting opponents who are at least somewhat challenging. The only thing they see about him when they get there is the news framing Spidey as a villain and as Venom has said before, he can eat bad guys.

Hate it when anybody other than the hero takes out the bad guy. Soon as Shriek was introduced I knew exactly how Carnage was going to be done in. Ruined the movie for me.

carnage is not supposed to be a giant , venom is big in the comic but carnage is human size

So the credit scene was very much Venom getting added to the MCU. In Spiderman: No Way Home, Dr. Strange fucks up a spell that we see in the trailer and I think Venom got brought into the MCU because we see Doc Ock and hear Green Goblin and hints at all the previous spiderman villains from Tobey and Andrew Spider-Man movies.
Honestly, I respect Joe a lot but geez as a movie reviewer, this guy is like....damn. He gives this movie and a movie like Arrival almost the same score.....Dude...how?
There were some glaring issues with the movie. One that really stands out is when Shriek is at Eddie’s place and sees a photo of Anne she wants to capture her as bait and very next scene she does. How did she know where to find her so quickly? She did not personally know who she was or where she lives but within minutes she had found her.
The apartment number was in the background.
Awesome thing could be since the multiverse is merging we have venom from Spider-Man 3 maybe that venom minds is connected with this venom which is why he finds spider man familiar

@@tomascasterwell2279 I meant like the multiverse is honestly just different universes that are now interacting with one another. So since Toby and Andrew are rumored to appear in no way home. Venom is now also in the universe and venom tells Eddie that there is much he knows of and has vast knowledge of various things. So I just said it would be cool if Venom had a connection to another Venom symbiote from an alternative universe. Just since Joe mentions that Venom seemed to have a connection right away so it would just be an idea I threw out there.

I don't think its necessarily that Vemon recognized Spiderman. I think it's more that the media is portraying Spiderman as a murderer and per their agreement before fighting carnage Brock told Venom he can eat bad guys. and a murderer is almost the ultimate bad guy

So what I don't get about that end-credits scene... So Venom gets transported to the MCU timeline. But he gets there before Dr. Strange had casted that spell? Because he sees Peter Parker on the television, which is the reason to why they started to mess with the timeline in the first place. So how did he get there if it was before Dr. Stranges casted the spell?

If they give the spider logo on the Venom suit it will 100% be a joke on how Venom wonders why people consider Spider-man a hero but not him and will believe it’s the symbol that he (Venom) is missing.
To be fair, Carnage’s love for Shriek is accurate. Hell, her getting injured was the reason why Carnage admitted defeat during his fight with Deadpool.
The love was accurate, until the end fight. Couldn't stand Shriek becoming the reason Carnage losing. Her sudden change of heart not to kill Ann was complete shit.

Something to note. Since venom’s story has been sort of twisted and made up without Spider-Man. It’s possible Carnage could still be alive in venom they have retcon stuff before. Plus since we are in MCU. There could be a Cletus in the MCU
